this is so good, i think its so crazy how they went from alternative to psycadeleic to punk to experimental to kind of poppy and none the less IT'S ALL GOOD.
Even for being some garage pop or alt-rock whatever you want to call it, this is still pretty awesome. Avey's voice sounds so perfect for a midwest emo band a la American Football or I Hate Myself, which is what this band kinda gives me vibes of.
Falling down Falling down Take a break, it's not the end Spin around when they turn you on All dressed up but no place to show it Come together the next time around Lights go out and the bed's tucked in Fallen days turn into bedroom nights When you started, the free time was short Rooms get older like the music drops Don't be mean to him She is not mean to me Her steps are graceful, forwards in the tune Falling down Falling down Out on the rocks and flipping stones Tide grows higher, time has to change Seen O'Hare and he's on a roll Passin' snake eyes round the G. I. Joes Feel all the people and the swirling lights Down at the bar as the betting storm Mighty hopeful is the greedy heirs The diamond carpet was burnin' down He's an opposite Where's the firesticks Bought it all; promise we'll sell it away
"indie rock" isn't a genre no matter how much someone wants to believe it is. Indie just means independent, it doesn't describe any sort of sound. Indie Rock doesn't have a "specific" sound. I've heard bands from Animal Collective to Fleet Foxes to Arcade Fire to Papadosio called Indie Rock. None of those bands sound similar.
Thought I was going to listen to old Animal Collective but really just ended up listening to Pavement.
Paris Sinclair could you Tell me similar songs to this one? I really like this old Anco vibe
Listen to Zurich is stained, very similar vibe
alot more positive than pavement
Put this song in a cassette mix like 5/6 years ago and randomly found it today.. beautiful
Avey's singing makes me want to cry and smile at the same time
this is like the perfect combo of pavement and early sad sappy sucker era modest mouse

Reminds me of Sad Sappy Sucker from Modest Mouse. Which both Avey and Isaac were influenced by Pavement so I can see it
Avey’s tenor resembles Panda’s back then.

It's crazy how Pavement-y this is
Cole Howell that makes sense because pavement was aveys favorite band
wow
this is nothing like my spirits or my manatees
lyrical collective. it's actually how I found automine.
Sounds like Built to Spill too.
I agree, do you know any other music you think this about too? Bands like built to spill in this way?
It gets the respect it needs today
DEM GUITARZ IS SO TWINKLY
I hope they make something incorporating some of these sounds
so good
I love pavement thanks
it's indie rock.
In my opinion this sounds a lot better than pavement. Which songs in particular remind you of automine

CwissinDaKidd thank you for this!
And to me they are classical rock.
@derekio137 it's not a pavement song, but it sounds vaguely like one, so it's a joke.
