    Funny story: when I left this German-House, a Japanese woman ran up to me, with her daughter, super excited, and thanked me multiple times, saying 'danke!' I didn't have the heart to tell her that I'm actually Australian...

      @@StrongKickMan german here, i think the reason why many people think that german people are intelligent is because we had an earlier established of good schools/ education and economy then some other countries in the past. Thats why many brilliant people had better access to information that they used for research and etc. But nowadays i see that people here, especially around my age (18) are really uneducated. Definitely not all but there is a extreme difference in education around those of my age from what i have experienced in school and at work

      @@nyxazes5327 Maybe, it's a problem of the surrounding youre in. Go look at the engineering students for example. Most of the actually have a much wider knowledge when they go there in comparison to the students back in the past. So you are basically talking about a cliche, which doesn't represent the facts. The difference between the higher educated and the lower educated has existed since the beginning, just that you would'nt hear about the latter, since they don't accomplish that much. It's basically a historical bias.

    You stepped right into a distinct german cultural difference. We speak our mind and are brutally honest. We also usually do not praise good things, but focus on the bad in a critical way to help improve. ("Nicht geschimpft ist Lob genug " -"Not being scolded is praise enough") So if a german writes something negative about some aspects in your video, that means that they object to that aspect, but liked or at least approve of the rest, just don't feel the need to point that out, cause if they wouldn't, they would have let you known.

    • @thepetervonde

      That's really interesting. I'm going to remember that about Germans...it's definitely a cultural difference.

    I am a German native, and did not know that such a place exists in Japan
    Thank you for the cute video

    • @7bloodyTears
      @7bloodyTears 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sam Urai A German Native is a person whose ancestors and their ancestors lived in the lands of ancient Germany. I am one of the last ones without foreign blood. Today only 6% of us are left. The rest has foreign blood mixture or is a foreigner born in Germany.

    • @7bloodyTears
      @7bloodyTears 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sam Urai PS: over 120 years ago the population of natives stood by 98%. Two WWs, one Weimarer Republic, the cultural destruction and the mass abortions since the 60s and also the over-alienation by foreigners, the attempted Islamization and Merkels constant betrayals took its toll on the German natives and our culture.

    • @7bloodyTears
      @7bloodyTears 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sam Urai The numbers are not correct, unfortunately. Around 50% - 60% are descendants since 1945, and still increasing. That number was growing over the last 15 years extremely and the rest comes from the mass "migration"/"refugees"/ intruders in the last 8-10 years. Merkel broke almost half of our laws to let those people illegally into Germany, without permission, IDs or a proper check of their backround. They come just to Germany demanding money from the social system and the government gives it just to them, on the cost of our retried generation which rebuilt Germany, on the cost of our own needy people and children. The criminal rates are over 10times higher then 5 years ago. You hear nearly daily another crime committed by those "refugees". Germany is turning more and more into a legend, a myth but the true natives and builders of this "Germany" everyone dreams about, is dangerously close to be wiped out.

    • @7bloodyTears
      @7bloodyTears 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Sam Urai I understand if you get a bit confused with those numbers in comparing to what I just said. The German or what is left of us, gets also those numbers always told and that this mass migration is not so bad, and if we are not willing to accept it, we get the old "You-are-Nationalsozialists"- paroles. Truth and fact is, only 2 out of 30 to 40 kids in one school class are still German, and my own type of features got very rare these days in the young generation. I was often asked by foreign guest "Where are the Germans and why is nobody speaking German in the streets?" Well, lets just say I got a lot of practice in the last years explaining what is happening in this country.

    I am Japanese.It is a story in The Bando POW camp. Toyohisa Matsue was chosen as the chief of the Bando Camp.Matsue was a soldier of the Japanese Army. He ordered his men not to treat German POW absolutely like a criminal.He ordered his men to treat the German POWs with kindness.
    Japan made the constitution, medicine, the army in by reference to Germany during the Meiji era.The Meiji era was before the beginning of the First World War.Japan's national anthem Kimigayo was made by Hayashi Hiromori and German Franz Eckert. Matsue began talking to the Germans.I will write his words briefly and briefly. "you guys was a patriot and a brave soldier. We Japanese promise to not treat you badly. We do not undermine your honor," the chief said to the Germans. At this time, the Japanese government decided to introduce German technology to Japan from Germans. Japan ordered each camp to receive guidance from German soldiers in all areas.There were leaders in each of the German prisoners of war, such as politics, economics, teaching of musical instruments, bread making, sausages, whiskeys, beer brewing, etc.The Japanese received instruction from them.
    Germans taught Japanese people about German food and culture in various parts of Japan.Beer, cheese, cigarettes and sausages were made in the camp and POWs were free to eat what they had made.It was permitted to smoke too. Also they were free to shop.There were many other sports facilities in the camp, such as tennis courts and soccer fields and Hockey and cricket field and German-style volleyball court.
    There were also facilities for wrestling, boxing and gymnastics. There were also billiards and bowling alleys. POWs freely enjoyed the sport.There were farms, dairy farms and painting studios in the camp. There were various other facilities. There was almost no abuse of POWs in the camp.Discipline was least in all camps. In particular, the discipline at Bando Camp was the least. There was no violence or swearing against prisoners who did not keep discipline. If there was a Japanese who was violent to POW, the Japanese would soon become fired. Salaries were also paid when Germans worked nearby. Japan treated Germans as friends.Japan never forced labor to POWs.The Hague Convention states that POWs should not be abused or forced to work. Japan protected this.Japan also forced a check on the health status of POWs once a week. The Japanese were most concerned about the health of POWs.
    What was forced in the camp was the only roll call that took place in the morning and evening. Every day, German prisoners of war did what they liked.Japan permitted POWs to do sports, cultural activities and arts.There were a lot of people who do sports daily and people who enjoy their hobbies.There were many excursions at Bando Camp and other camps. There were also merchants coming and going to the camp, where they could buy alcohol, daily necessities and sweets.Germany surrendered in 1918 and World War I ended. Germans were not prisoners of war on June 28, 1919. From that day Germans were completely free to go out. There was a lot of interaction between the people of the city and the Germans. We offered tea and sweets to Germans who came to play, and taught Japanese culture.Some Germans were in love with Japanese women. The Germans gave a present to the Japanese a few days before they returned home. Thanks to that, the Japanese invited them to the town's house and let them eat a lot of food.And we had a farewell party at each house. At the last farewell, the townspeople saw off the marching Germans.
    Before To returning home, the Germans had a concert.
    Major General Heinrich said:
    We lost the battle in Qingdao, we became POWs and came to this land. I can now leave this land with pride. That's thanks to Mr. Matsue. Mr. Matsue gave courage and strength at the hardest time of my life. Courage and power-. We want to present Beethoven's delight to everyone as a token of appreciation. Where in the world were there camps like Bando! There is no such wonderful person like Matsue anywhere in the world.Heinrich presented Mr. Matsue with his favorite Cane. He Say that "To my beloved friend".

    Japan’s relationship with Germany goes back to the Meiji Restoration. Japan invited Prussian military officers to train its army in western military doctrine and ended up modeling its entire military in the Prussian model. One Prussian officer in particular, Jacob Meckel, trained some 60 of Japan’s highest ranking officers and was very significant in evolving Japan’s entire military culture. German military know-how greatly helped Japan become East Asia’s most preeminent power. Ever since, Japan has maintained a deep admiration for Germans.
