  • We lost a dear friend, a gentle, creative and talented man Craig Spivey. Craig's collection is a wonder to behold. The Force was strong in this one and the toy community will miss him dearly.
We hope that you will enjoy and celebrate with us a Star Wars collection that only Craig could put together and that continues to put a smile on the face of all who see it. Thanks Craig x

Just to give you an idea of the man that Craig was. During the final weeks as he bravely faced his illness it was the feelings of others that were first and foremost in his thoughts.
In fact just before his passing he messaged to check how my little boy Noah was doing with his illness and was concerned with how I was coping. That is a measure of the man, despite his own immense pain and knowing he had little time left he was concerned not with himself but others that he cared about.
The world needs more Craig Spivey’s in it and we’ve just lost the only one.
    Goodnight you lovely man. X
    Joe

This is the Collection that stood out in my mind, it was all stuff from my childhood, all the random Bubble Bath, Badges, Pencil Tops, all the tat that meant so much to us as kids, even if it was janky you were still in awe of it! RIP Craig! Thanks for collecting this stuff!

Just watched the special tribute to the late Craig Spivey and what an incredible collection and sweetheart he was taking Joe and Gav around his personal collection.
You have written your simple plan and I hope it brings you an hour of joy, to the boy who is half a man and the man who is half a boy.
    MTFBWY ...... Always

That was an absolutely lovely tribute Joe, the bit at the end with the cup and the photo of Craig as a lad made me cry.
What a privilege to see this man's fascinating, eclectic collection. And to learn something new about old Star Wars.
    God bless Craig Spivey. ❤️🙏

Lovely comment. Craig was a font of knowledge on so many things and he entertained with it. I shall miss that sparkle in his eye when enthusing about some obscure piece of Star Wars art you’d never even considered before.

Such a lovely collection. Being a 6-10 year old brit at the time of the original releases I recognised a lot of little bits and bobs that I used to own and had forgotten about. The figures were obviously the most sought out items back then but we all had a ton of SW stationary and other goodies like curtains, wall paper, bed spreads, etc. That stuff was everywhere and it's a fantastic area to focus on. I've seen bigger collections before but I haven't seen one with such heart. It's got a specific style and a real appreciation of Star Wars Mania in the 70s. He seemed like a lovely bloke too. He'll clearly be missed.

Absolutely incredible collection and what an inspiration he was. Like you guys said, it's the stuff that really takes you back to that period in time even more so than the ships and figures. I still have my pen toppers and note pads from those days that were bought with my own pocket money.

I really enjoyed this video and was really moved by the love that Craig had for his collection and the obvious joy he felt being able to share it with you. I also thought it was a very respectful video, right down to the final second where the Spoon Jar Films logo came on but the laughter that usually follows it was muted. A classy video through and through. RIP Craig.

Craig planned everything. When we originally filmed this he and we knew he was poorly.
It’s not the worse thing bud. We love it but it’s just toys. Craig knew that. Our enthusiasm for bits of plastic is unbounded but people, people are special. Especially when that person is Craig. X

@@leicestervintagetoyshopYes. So true. I have a £100,000 collection. Most of it is storage until I can find a house, but my Mum and sister who live closest to me both have sets of keys to my flat and my lock up if anything happens to me and I’ve itemised it all. I’m 56 and not getting any younger. You never know what’s around the corner. You have to be prepared. Craig had an awesome collection. I’ve only just got into wax packs but building a steady little boxed collection. I’ve no idea where he managed to find Trevor Chews! That blew me away. I’d love to be able to find Star Wars stuff like that. People like Craig will always be missed. At least he left a mark in our community. Rest well.
