Toy Shop On Tour The Italian Job - Part 1 with Jonathan Ross

- Join us on a road trip to Italy! We're on a mission set by Jonathan Ross himself, to Toyssimi in Rome. First we need to fill up the van with Mr Ross's unwanted treasures, and boy do we have fun sifting through!
So if you like vintage toys, hop on board this special episode of Toy Shop On Tour, it could be our best quest yet!
I totally understand where he is coming from. I have spent most of 2023 trying not to add too much and moving on what’s been in the closet or not properly displayed. I got rid of a lot. But it was so hard. Interesting to see others go through the same process.
While we're all here for the toys, I must admit I was looking for Jonathan's bubble car -- My dad had a large hand in fixing it up for him!
Getting a couple of minutes in and seeing those VERY familiar landscape drone shots was an unexpected treat!
Oh wow! Very cool I think that car was elsewhere although it’s probably a good thing as Joe didn’t get too distracted as he loves an old car especially oddball ones!
Jonathan is just the coolest. He was on an old epsidoe of The Chase the other day and he was amazing. 😊❤
He’s a top man!
Cool video. The King Kong was the highlight for me as well, in no small part because I sold it to him. So it was like seeing an old friend. LOL.
Amazing! What a great, great toy!
Christmas TV at its finest... probably the best thing on TV this Christmas...Joe and Matt are so natural together and a sprinkle of Rossy made this the best TSOT yet...keep up the great work guys and hope to see you both again soon....
Thanks Jamie!!
This was awesome Jonathan Ross is so knowledgeable
He really is 👍
He is a mega nerd lol
Well he’s in good company 👀😂
That was very kind of you both to remember me. And cool to see more 70's and 80's Toys from Anime.
Ah Carlo my friend you are unforgettable remember? Sending much love
Mr Ross and a trip to Italy, what a great episode.
Thanks very much and thanks for watching!
I loved how John mentioned Idris Elba & Joe turned to the camera & was like “don’t tell him that!” like Joe was SURE that THE Idris Elba would be watching this video. Then I thought “heck, these guys are so awesome maybe he actually IS!”
That's it, I'm driving to Italy next week to visit those two stores. Insane collection, and when you opened the door to the Lego shop I got goosebumps, wonderland !
Highly recommended!! Amazing shops
Great stuff once more. I think it’s exactly a year since I started watching your channel and the Jonathan Ross episode was the first I saw..the circle is complete😊
Welcome back! Good to have you along for the ride.
Why, why, why does Jonathan Ross have some of the stuff he has? !? Brilliant!
The first video of yours I saw was last Christmas of you going around johnathans office so glad you had him back from the holidays!
Welcome back!

Thanks so much for the time and effort you put into these videos. The only problem is I have to watch them three times so I don’t miss anything!!!!
Glad you like them! If it helps when we watch them we see loads of stuff we didn’t ask about or missed as well!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop I always wondered how you were introduced to Jonathan Ross?
@@kerfkerf he messaged us about a toy and the conversation followed
This was like a warm hug. The highlight of Christmas TV. So much stuff I could have gone home with. I collect Takara Magnemo figures. I’ve got a Red Falcon variant from palisades toys and a reissue boxed Jeeg with his horse but I don’t have the Emperor yet or an original colours Falcon. Such great toys. Can’t wait for the next episode. In the meantime I need to stalk Jonathan Ross 😂 Great show guys, I miss Gav but it’s great to see Matt appearing as co host.
Thanks very much! We put a lot of love into the show so comments like this really mean a lot. 😊
Really enjoyable. Ross has a treasure trove. Would love another deep dive with him
He has an awesome collection, more to come we hope!
A festive toy-filled treat!
Thanks for watching John!
Pure gold guys, well done! Loved it. Well done Joe, and Matt the cameraman. It's all just so professional, fun, and at times even hilarious. Please visit Jonathan again from time to time. And maybe deliver Billy Galaxy back to him?
We need to reunite them don’t we!? JR has invited us back. It would be great to have Billy with us as well, the wheels are turning we just need to get everyone aligned…… 😊
What a festive treat! Love, love, love - micronauts & Italian robots are so in my wheel house. Thanks guys, great episode
Thanks for watching!
This really is the best Christmas gift! Magic to have Mat TCM front and centre. The whole thing is just perfect - I swear you chaps should be commissioned for a full TV series 👍👍
Thank you so much!! One day we hope
30:15 Very fond memories of this Billy Blastoff set when I was a kid!
Another fantastic chat with Jonathan who ought to consider having his own channel (as you said Mr Ross - you're not getting any younger - spend it on your passions!)
We’d rather he kept showing his stuff on our channel! 😂
@@SpoonJarFilms lol - well sign him up for a monthly slot then!!!!
Great episode guys 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks very much!
Love watching toy hunting shows, I never see most of this stuff here in the US
Thanks for watching!
Congrats on the success of the show Joe! Look forward to keeping up with the adventures
Thanks Craig 👍
1980s Italy had great taste in toys.
Indeed!
Love to see you boys doing well .. Great local shop 👌
Thanks very much!!
Simply amazing stuff, had my eye on that GI joe stuff at the italian store, look forward to the next one
Coming soon! Thanks for watching
Mr Ross needs to have his own show or channel covering his collection/collecting. His passion is contagious and spills out of the screen.
Not half!
He really does ! I need to see his collection in it's entirety.
Yes.
😎 had to tune in right away 🥳
Thanks Ed! Share it far and wide!
Oh man, Joe, we have very similar tastes. I've been searching for a modestly priced STAR for hours now.
Pop us a message over. We have more coming soon!
Yeah actually I need to talk to you about issue 12 anyway.

Simply brilliant. Best Hour and a quarter I have spent over this festive period. Thanks lads. Roll on episode 2. ;)
Thanks Rob!
His throwaway toys are better than anything in my collection!
That grenade and mortar would be awesome to have.
It’s a great item!
Did he keep them or are they sold? What´s his adress and what hours does he work?@@leicestervintagetoyshop
ROSS IS A CLEAN LEGEND !!!
Deffo!!
ALGO BROUGHT ME HERE AGAIN AS YOU HADN'T COME UP FOR A WHILE. HIS SKILL AT THE CONVERSIONS IN ONE OF THE EARLY VIDS WAS REALLY IMPRESSIVE. LOVE A WEE HIDDEN SKILL IN A SOMEONE ... 🤔😉😁🤪
Absolutely wicked episode guys!!!
Loved the whole of it. So jealous to not be on tour with you!!
Thanks for watching!
This is great!
Thanks very much!
I can't believe it's been a year since Wossy showed his toys on this channel, say what you will about him, he seems like a good bloke.
He really is a good bloke. 👍
What an amazing video Joe and Matt, I can’t get my head around just how mental and all over the place JR collection is, it’s something to behold.
I’m gonna pop up to shop day before NEC in April I think :) - will message closer to the date
JR has an amazing collection!
This is brilliant. 👍👍
Thanks for watching!
@@leicestervintagetoyshop 🍻
I had that lego space monorail set that Christmas and 30+ years later have it again.
Brilliant! Awesome set
JR is back!!! 😊
He is and he is on excellent form!
That was an impressive toy storage...wow😮

Gav? GAV! GAAAAAAAAV!!!!!!!!

Woohoooooo 🎉
The Lego Space was my favourite as a Kid, I had some of the very first sets!
We have loads in now and yep we see your point! Great toy

…in the mean time please share this episode with friends who might like the show 👍🎥
Can't wait many thanks great film 👍
awesome
All right toy shop on tour! I've missed toy shop on tour and find myself watching the channel a lot less.
Not right without Gav :(
We announced what was happening in our ‘toy ronnies’ video. Hopefully Gav will join us again soon.
Great and definitely me too with that Monorail it’s one I wish I had when I was younger although they are going for silly prices now
Ace item that one….. not this time for us. Was it fun to play with?
It's pronounced DO-RA-EE-MON! 😂Poor Japanese pronunciation aside 😉😁, absolutely fantastic video guys! Really enjoyed that! Merry Christmas and a Very Happy 2024 to you Joe, Matt and Jonathan!
Good to know!
I have the 1982 Italian large football heads set of the Italian world cup side of 1982 made in italy.bought at a boot sale years ago,it was the best Italian side ever.and made in italy
I've been to Billy's shop a few times looking for Starbalzers stuff. $400 for a 4in Tiger Mask figure was pretty stiff. But i understand.
Would love to see johnsthan go yltoy shopping with u
Now that would be fun!
31:30 that's a rare pre-Transformers Mini-Spy from Takara.
Nice spot, had some loose ones in but those boxed ones are on my want list now!
Christmas has come early🎉🎉😊
Or late! 😂
Brilliant, but do miss Gav
Billy blast off god I had that aqua one .this is brining everything back . Guys have you got any vertibirds I loved that so much and captain laser, I burnt mine over a candle in the 70s why I don't know and I hade myself for it bur would love to own one now .
Vertibird and captain laser, great team! They do come in from time to time
Another fantastic episode as usual, not missed a single TSOT episode that you have made, however please can we have a return of the cool theme tune it used to have?.
What I like most of this video is your enthusiasm for all this crappy toys. 😜
Only a few are really worth the excitement (Micronauts, Jeeg, Lego, Big Jim) no judgement there, mate 😁
Just because you don’t like them! I love all the items barring the Linkin park item I’m all in. But you know what we could have sold that set a dozen times over! We are all different 😂
@@leicestervintagetoyshop you're right, I was just pulling your leg. I share your passion for toys BTW.
Keep up the good work 👍
52:20 The UK Grandstand version of Red Falcon was the Silorg Warrior, and was a much deeper blue color - very superior, worth 10x as much.
Yes we’ve had a few in the past. I’d love another one now for my own collection.
@ 39:35 Did JR just do a leg-in-the-air fart? 🤣😂🤣
We really hope so! 😂
Doraemon. That flying blue cat thing.
Joe still forgets it 🙄😂
@@leicestervintagetoyshop… learning katakana + hiragana really helps.
Oh man, so many things I wants to talk about! :P
0.45 the Nimes Arena (France) instead of the Colosseum… 😂
Yeah, they wouldn’t give us drone clearance.
Eagle eyed!
I forgive you just because you gave me a free mug at Toyssimi! 😀
@@vessillologiaall’s well that ends well!
Did I miss the town where the toy shop was in Italy?
It’s near Milan. 👍
Giocattoli Vintage (Vintage Toys)
It’s located in Cogliate, just 29 kilometres north of Milan. Good luck
Tell Johnathan I have a big Dino riders collection I would love to house with him, including a sealed t rex!!!!
Also is Gav's new store called 'Wierd Stuff!'? seems an appropriate name
It’s called retrodee toys and is in Nuneaton
WHERE IS GAV!??!
He left the shop, hopefully he’ll be back doing toy shop on tour with us soon. We announced this in our ‘toy ronnies’ video
That hurts!! He was Joes most excellent compliment.
I just watched a video on the Mego Micronaughts Superheroes, and then you found 2 Micronaught Spider-Man
Such a good toy line
I believe today that I have just bought Jonathan Ross buzz light-year as shown at the beginning of this video. Please could someone be able to tell me if this authentic as its actually the same with the sellotape and the little mark on the left hand side just under the 2nd cloud. I bought it from a shop call Leicester vintage toy shop. And how would I be able to get some written authenticity for it. A big thank you
Well its the only one we have in like that we didn’t advertise it as ‘owned by’ and its priced at less than a normal one would be. Yes it’s that one. A certificate of authenticity is meaningless as it’s just something written down on paper. Pleased it means so much to you though. Thanks again
Where is Gav?
"amazin"
Hurray!!
🧙♂️
Ants have families too Jon…….even the non-binary ones! lol 🙄😂
and Uncles.
Did JR say alot of Men know qbout your wife?! That was pretty chuffing rude! If that's what he said.
@@Future-Classic-Comics it was a joke. We are good friends.
@@leicestervintagetoyshop Ah fair enough! I'm into comic books, but learning alot about toys from you, been going to Enfield vintage store for years and years now, really digging your content! ^_^
Amazing episode guys, Matt the camera man is clearly a wizard at putting a special together, this blows away anything else on TH-cam and Joe is as contagiously enthusiastic as always👍 You guys really put such good energy out into the toy collecting world so thank you for the top tier content as always! Also, shall we just elect Jonathon Ross as the king of collectors at this point? It is really getting unreal at this point how much cool stuff he has acquired over the years!
Ah thanks man. 👏👏👏👑
It's wild he has a house in another country with outhouses full of toys 😄 Fantastic job here, lads - this is a better than anything on television today.
Thanks very much!
Jonathan is the great curator. Never sell... start a museum!
He’s busy enough! But yes it would be amazing!
One of the most excellent things I've seen this Christmas, awesome guys. Pure mgic.
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed the show!
Just Jonathan casually pulling out an Ark King Kong, jeeeez....
Yeah like I’m craving one now….. but at those prices sheesh!
Would love to have one of those Alien eggs!
After my dad died and I saw all the stuff he had that needed clearing out, I decided that I wasn't going to do the same for my kids. So if it's on a shelf and it sits there and I have no pleasure from it anymore, then it gets sold. It was difficult initially, but now it's like lifting a weight off me.
It’s a tough one. However we do find it’s quite therapeutic deciding what you really want/need in your collection.
I miss Gav😢
Same!
Fantastic episode Jonathan is brilliant.Italy has some lovely stuff too.
Really looking forward to episode 2.
Isn’t he!!
“This never happened to the other fella”
George Lazenby 😉
Where’s Gav?… (just wanted to be the first to say it 😂)
Yes. Where is he?
sigh
Everyone is thinking it.
@@MrIndiefilmmanwe made a video all about it. Check out our ‘toy ronnies’ video.

“Charlton Heston!” Well I laughed anyway 😂
nice one
Fantastic video. Very much looking forward to pt 2. Well done lads. Please be a permanent fixture in front of the camera Matt.
Thanks very much!
Loved Jonathan Ross in this. He is a true toy collector. Would love to meet him, one day. The Italian shop was a good watch. Thanks Guys.
Thanks for watching! JR is a legend!
So much awesome stuff in that Italian shop- I have vague memories of some of it from trips to Italy and Spain when I was a kid (late 80's). Always used to see Mr Ross in Mega City Inverness Street during my lunch breaks when I worked near there around 2000/2ish- he was always into the cool stuff before it was cool.
Fantastic episode! Jonathan Ross Pt2, his collection is something else It looks like you barely made a dent in his doubles 😮. And the shops in Italy oh my! Amazing work both look forward to the next episode 😀
Glad you enjoyed it! JR has a lot lot more to go at so we look forward to going back to see him.
Fantastic episode! Can't wait for part 2!
