Why ‘the religious hippie?’
It was a nickname my friends gave me when I was in highschool because I dressed like a hippie and was a ‘wild child’, when I came back into my faith they thought ‘the religious hippie’ was now a more appropriate nickname and it stuck!

Note: while it should not take more than 6 months to determine whether or not you would marry the person you are dating, that does *not* mean the two of you need to be *ready* to get married at that point. It is normal to know that you would marry this person but also recognize that your relationship still needs to grow before initiating the process of getting married (ie engagement). This allows you to discern whether or not this is the person you should marry-and what more you need to know to make that determination-earlier in your relationship. If you discern yes, you can then focus on what in your relationship (or life circumstances) needs work in order for the two of you to be ready to marry. If you discern no, then you can end a relationship earlier without waiting around for readiness issues to be resolved.
In other words, discern the person before readiness, not readiness before the person. You shouldn’t be thinking “we’re ready to get married, but is this the right person?” You should be thinking “this is the right person, so what do we need to do to be ready for marriage?”
Agree! I have been with my boyfriend for 6 months. We have started having the "difficult conversations" but we are both studying at college. Our plan is to wait until we graduate undergrad and then hopefully get married once I start grad school in 2 years :).

I want to thank you for this video! Exactly what I needed to hear! I’ve been in a bit of confusion as to what God is calling me to be. I’ve never dated or been in a relationship before and have the desire to have one. But I also found myself thinking about religious life and the desire to serve in that state. I know it’s not easy, but I believe that God knows what’s in my heart and will lead me to the path that will lead me closer to Him. God bless! 🙏🏻

Vocation is a sore spot for me. I'm too in debt to discern the priesthood, and I don't make enough money to be open to life in a marriage. I am not successful at all with dating. I feel defeated either way.

The guy on 5:14 makes a mistake "if I confirm that priesthood is what God is calling me to..." no man can confirm that for himself, only a bishop can.
Some people are thinking about a religious life, nun or priest, not because God is calling them, but because they want to avoid the difficulties of a relationship, marriage, children. it's important to figure that out first. Many saints knew from a very young age, as a child, that God was calling them, so they never even thought of a marriage.
If relationships don't work out, maybe you need to change something in your approach, have your health checked, a therapist etc. God wants Catholic marriages, to enrich the world, with good children and love, and it's something very beautiful. St. Thomas even said, that you don't need a special vocation for marriage. God approves of it, when you have the right attitude.
