    This band is a testament to musicianship, teamwork, perseverance. The idea that a 3 piece band can produce such a textured and deep sound is astounding.. 40 years together, wow! I can ony imagine how many times Geddy heard he shouldn't be a singer.

      I heard a guy [doing one of those 'reaction videos'] say that Geddy’s voice 'is a perfect match' for the band’s sound.....and that 'his [Geddy’s] voice is like another integral instrument....
      In my mind there has never been and never will be another group like RUSH.
      They did not let their fame go to their heads....they did not let their fame rule their lives....they remain the 3 human beings from Canada.....the 3 human beings who used their gifts to Bless the rest of humanity......kind of the way I think we are all meant to do.
      God richly Bless all here.

      Ralph Porcelli I stood at the barrier in front of Geezer Butler a couple of times. First time I was awe struck at his playing and just watched his fingers dance across the bass. I would put him in my top 3 bassists. My number one would be Norman Watt Roy.....he is phenomenal.

He said, that it always amazes him how Alex can squeek the most demented sounding notes out of his guitar, so I suppose that is what Geddy is doing, eagerly anticipating and waiting for Alex, to "squeek" some demented note out of his guitar, that he's never heard before, lol.

      My old boss saw them in Tulsa Oklahoma in the early 80s in an arena. He said less than a hundred people came, and rather than canceling the show, the band had everyone come down to the barrier and gave them a 3 hour show as if 50,000 people were there.

    Love the washing machines - apparently a sarcastic jab at a critic who complained that watching them on stage was like watching a washer and dryer. Canada very proudly claims Rush, and Rush has stayed true to the Great White North. Well done guys.

      Dean Wallis Geddy Lee stopped using bass amps years ago in favor of the venue's sound system, so he, weird sense of humor he has, puts other things on stage instead including rotisserie chickens, washing machines, vending machines, stuff like that. It's bizarre but hey, why not? They can do whatever they want, they're RUSH!

      @jamesweldon9726 7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Dean Wallis, he started with a refrigerator. The old Sunn and Ampeg bass speaker enclosures he used were shoulder-high; the size of a small refrigerator. Musicians colloquially referred to them as "refrigerator amps". When he went to his direct-input system, there was nothing behind him on stage, while Alex still had his trademark wall of guitar amps. It looked unbalanced. So he started putting props there, starting with a refrigerator.

    I started playing guitar when I was 12.. Im 53 now. I was no slouch. When I tell people they get this Joan Bias hippy strumming an acoustic around a campfire idea.. then I show them a video and they're like, oh.. freaking clueless people today..
    It was always a lifelong dream to play in front of a sea of people like that.. Then a year ago, I had a major heart attack and a major stroke at the same time.. I was in ICU for 10 days on my death bed.. By the grace of God, I survived. But I lost control of my left hand/arm and can no longer play. One of my other dreams was to have a youtube channel when Im 80 and go to music stores to blow young kids away with my playing.. That wont happen now.. But I still play in my head.. I can see it and hear it.. I just can no longer do it.

    I attended this show. A friend and I drove from Denver to Toronto to see Rush play in their home town. More than a half a million people were in that crowd. It was one of the largest single-day concerts in North American history. We ended up about 10 rows back from the stage. It was an endless sea of people behind us. Amazing event.

    I thought I've seen everything Rush-related as I've been all over their concerts .... this looks like it was from that SARS concert .... These guys, I mean they leave me jaw-dropping mesmerized !! I've said it before and, I'll say it again - 3 guys sounding like a 30-piece Rock Orchestra! Anyone notice how Neil Peart hits those Symbols on the drum set and reaches up to grab/stop them to get the optimal sound - - who does that but a Professor of drums?!!! Geddy Lee = STUD, Alex Lifeson = STUD and Neil Peart = STUD within a STUD !!!!!! RUSH is THEE BEST !!!!!!!!!

I videos , cassettes, albums, CDs, but it's nothing like experiencing a live performance! I recall the time when Neil Diamond was doing a concert in Omaha way back when and when it came to purchase my ticket they said sorry but we sold out after waiting over four hours in line.

    I'm so lucky to have discovered Rush in 10th grade 1978. I also think it's great that my intro was Archives - that shows you something right there that such a relatively young band would have a boxed set of their first three studio albums. I was the first of my friends to delve into Rush, I bought Archives and 2112, played them for the first time in chronilogical order - was absolutely stunned, amazed, and hooked. Within a week I had purchased All the World's a Stage and A Farewell to Kings. I got Hemispheres when it was released later that year and saw Rush live for the first time on their Hemispheres tour. What a great band, and what a great bunch of guys - to imagine all their work, all their time together, still respecting each other, still friends and still down to earth. The best band of all time.

    I remember in high school a bandmate was an Alex Lifeson fan and I was EVH fan. He did learn me on Alex’s genius and on the 30 minute school bus ride to and from school we got to listen to whatever we wanted as long as no vulgarity in lyrics. (No swearing those days) so we rotated Moving Pictures, AC/DC Back in Black and Van Halens 1st album. Good times.
