It’s once again time to take some fun, sorta cute characters and make them into more monstrous fantasy beasts. This time subjects of my redesigning and rewriting are coming right out of Dreamworks Animations most popular movies!
First up, we have Shrek as a Swamp Ogre… but, ya know, scarier! Then, we have Po from Kung fu Panda as a Dire Bear who can still do some Kung Fu. Finally, Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon as a more monastery dragon from the legends of the first dragon riders.

These concepts where pretty fun to both hear and watch. I'll definitely love to see a full How to Train Your Dragon video in the future, and I'm glad that you added the fact that Shifu is the Chinese word for master.
But also, how soon are you to make a Sea Monsters episode, a fresh start for it would definitely be using the demons from Chainsaw man, like the Ghost demon as a jellyfish like Kraken, and the Chainsaw devil as a dire shark with flying fish fins (with of course the chainsaws attached to them), and even the Bomb demon as a Xenomorph like eel.
Kung Fu Panda was a big part of my childhood and your drawing of him as a fantasy Beast looks just incredible! Wonder how the crew of his would look in this style. 👍😁
What I really like about this channel is that we gets to explore alternative timelines of Pop-Culture universe and Media Universes which gives me a “Marvel Studio: What If..?” But what I really about those types of stories/timelines is that they explore both the Dark timelines for example “DC: Darkmultverse” had the darkness and “Marvel: What if…?” Had Lights. Basically these types of Videos really does entertain me and I Love Alternative Timelines that explore different possibilities like Pokémon as DND Heroes and FNAF as Zombie Apocalypse. So I hope that we get more of these videos that explore the alternative timelines of these franchises but with other franchises and media franchises like Minecraft FNAF Roleplays channels in a Sci-Fi theme and Fortnite in an alternative timeline with different stories

Absolutely wonderful job on this video, Christian. Your monstrous designs to these animated characters were really awesome and very cool. Definitely enjoyed the usage of shading and the color schemes were really awesome choices that really make each design pop out, especially with the background.
As for the lore of this video.
It was really entertaining and delightful to hear Tayren as the narrator of this tale. I also admit that your art notes in this video were really interesting and helpful to listen to.

This inspired me to ask for some cartoon characters in the DBZ universe.
Most obviously, Shrek as a Namekian. Others could be Steven Universe as a Super Saiyan Rosé; Anne Boonchuy from Amphibia as a Super Saiyan Blue, with Sprig as an Animal-type Earthling, Sasha Waybright as Super Saiyan God, and Marcy Wu as either a Legendary Super Saiyan, or a Majin Super Saiyan, or Tuffleized; Molly McGee from The Ghost and Molly McGee as a ghost Super Saiyan and Scratch as a ghost warrior; Mei from Turning Red with her giant panda form being her Ozaru form, her red-haired appearance being a Super Saiyan God from, and her merged human/panda form being her Super Saiyan 4 form; or Jenny XJ-9 Wakeman as one of the Red Ribbon Army androids.
Intriguing for sure! Puttign something into the DBZ world feels like something I'm a bit unqualified for, but these are some interesting ideas! I will indeed consider it, though I'll have to do a bunch of research because my DBZ lore knowledge is limited 😛
@@PopCross I think it'd be cool if you did it, it's not a super complex universe, and there's many people on this site who do story and lore breakdowns specifically for Dragonball. Plus I think learning the Akira Toriyama artstyle would be greatly beneficial, as it's another unique drawing style to experiment with. I definitely recommend though if you want to draw things in a way to represent marginalized people, take inspiration from the latest manga chapters, not Early Dragonball, as the art for the time was VERY problematic.
@@PopCross DBZ lore overall actually isn't THAT complicated, it's mostly just all the different transformations that can get slightly confusing, because Akira Toriyama likes to introduce a new power-up whenever he writes himself into a corner.
And even then it was mostly straight-forward during the Z era, in only started to get complicated during the GT and ESPECIALLY during the Super era, when all the color variants were introduced
@@adamusprime403 I'd say using the term "marginalized people" isn't really appropriate here, as you are using it in a purely US-centric manner, and the situation around the majority world does not really reflect the situation in the USA.
A more appropriate term here would be "foreigners" for the Japanese context.
Also, I'd say that the original Dragon Ball's depiction of Indians and Native Americans was rather respectful, and outside of the prominent red lips, the depiction of Africans also wasn't particularly malicious compared to other humans
Also, Mr. Popo does not count, as he's not meant to be a human, even tho he does arguably invoke certain types of character design.

While I can see the validity with your gripes towards the Night Fury drawing, I still really liked it, especially with how you added the green highlights to give it some more colour. My favourite though had to be Po, both with how the drawing itself turned out as well as how awesome the golden sky in the background was. Overall I really enjoyed this video, keep up the stellar work!
Today marks Day 26 of me requesting Shovel Knight characters as dragons.
That is such a cool idea!!! You should definitley do this more with dreamworks. Also You should do gods from mythology or even disney characters as armors kinda like moonknight where it can change depending on the person

Well, if you end up making another episode based on DreamWorks, you could try:
• B.O.B (Monsters Vs. Aliens)
- Could have been made by a group of alchemists due to improper summoning materials
• Everest (Abominable)
- They could be a distant cousin to the ones you do for My Singing Monsters
• Chunky the Makawnavore
- Maybe an ancient beast only known from cave paintings

2) For the redraw, do we need two separate pieces of lore for the creature AND the armour?

Yeah, monsters! I do enjoy the beastier episodes more. On the topic of beasts, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is coming out in June, and when Beast Wars debuted in Canada, it was under the name "Beasties" due to the broadcasters not being allowed to air anything with war in the name. JoJo Stands as Transformers Day 76.
Hahahaha yeah, what's funny is I watched Beasties on TV, but when I rented a VHS of some of the episodes from Blockbuster it said 'Beast Wars' was confusing as a kid 😝

I can think of two reasons for the Night Fury's retractable teeth. It may be that the regurgitation Toothless demonstrates is how they feed their hatchlings, and they retract the teeth so their kids won't scratch themselves in their eagerness to reach the food. The other possibility is that the mouth is the most dextrous grasping part the Night Fury possesses, so when it needs finer Manipulation or even when it needs to abandon an exposed nest it can carry the unhatched egg or eggs in its mouth without, again, scratching them. Love the video! The entirety of Kung Fu Panda being a test of patience for Shifu would be hilariously in character for Oogway, too.
This was a funny and entertaining video. I'm curious on when you'll do more mech armor stories with Benny Sharp telling them to Ana, Jake, and Harold. I wonder how they'd react to some of Benny's stories.
Also, don't be too hard on yourself sir. I've had experiences with such things.

I always love episodes with Tayrun he's a fun character and I'm a sucker for anything fantasy, funnily enough my favourite drawing of the episode was toothless, but everyone's their own worst critic so I get why you may be disappointed in it even if I think it was fantastic.
Also recommendation for a Valentine's episode, considering it will probably be the Monday after next mybe do an episode narrated by one of the couples, Champ and Benny are the obvious choice, but you could also do Tayrun and Kayla, or Heath and Vesilia.
Personally I think Heath and Vasilias dynamic is super fun but Tayrun and Kayla haven't narrated an episode together before so that could be really fun. Benny and Champ are always fun though.

The positive advice at the end of this video feels almost entirely directed at me. I don't like saying stuff like that because I hate so much as sounding selfish, but the coincidence for me to have started posting videos with art being a large half of that, and then the advice at the end of this video matching up almost one to one for me? Let's just say it's very inspiring, and though might not be too good right now, maybe one day my art could be as good as yours, and maybe people will enjoy my art the way I enjoy yours. You just made me realize that a lot of the characters from Dreamworks are a type of beast or monster. All of these characters turned out amazing! ESPECIALLY SHREK!
By the way, I would love to see you make a part 2 of this episode, using trolls! The trolls are usually really cute characters, so it would be really cool to see what one of them or maybe a couple of them could look like in a more Monstery version!😃🙏
You know how the Trolls can use their hair to make shapes and grab things? That's making me think they'd make cool Medusa/Gorgon-type monsters.

How often does the final piece that we see end up looking exactly like you see it in your head? Does your current skillz in art shape what it looks like or your goals for your art? (Also, I like how Toothless ends up looking like a winged, rocky axolotl :D)
Hmmm, good question. Most of the time I'm kind of discovering the piece as I go. I'll usually only have a nvague idea of how I want the finished piece to look, then that becomes clearer as I get through the roughing phase. So sometimes something is very similar to my original idea and sometimes very different, but that doesn't necessarily mean bad, sometimes the ideas I find along the way make a piece way better 😁

I am so glad you're keeping up with the story the first multiverse tell was what two years ago and you've been progressively developing the story over time at some point though you should try to make the sharp gang go to the one dimension with the scps though and that you could use that as an opportunity to show Benny and the rest of the sharp gang that other universes have a lot more in common with their universes and then they may think

Since Shazam Fury of the Gods is releasing on March 17th, how about this idea to make a note of to honor it even though it's kinda the same as your videos of drawing people/things as Superheroes, "Fictional Kids/Teens with Shazam Powers"?
You draw them as adults with huge muscles, creative lightning bolt symbols, and unique magic powers they have! Examples:
Spider-Man: His muscles become more bigger, gets a cape made of spider web (just like Spider-Man Unlimited), the lightning bolt symbol becomes the spider legs on his Spider-Man symbol, and has the powers to talk to spiders
Hilda (character from Hilda cartoon): Becomes an adult, gets huge muscles, the lightning bolt symbol becomes the same color of her hair, is able to talk to animals and trolls, and can turn into a troll for a bulk up
Oooooooh! That is a fun idea! Designs might be a bit too repetetive... but I could probably cheat it to make them more interesting variety wise! I'll for sure consider that!!!

As I've said before, I wanna see FNAF/Indie characters as Marvel Villains. I can imagine a really cool concept for William Afton as an Iron Man villain or maybe even a Spiderman villain.

I must say this has got to be one of your best videos yet - nostalgia & art wise😁. With the addition of Shrek, Po, and Toothless, I already felt this was gonna one, and you certainly disappoint, kind sir 👍. And well, dare I say it, I think you might be on to something when it comes to the Toothless drawing - the flow of the character seems a bit jumbled and mashed together for a cat-like creature, and well, the idea of a landscape framed piece does seem to fit the character better what you had done here (but well it still turned out alright👌). Overall, pretty rad & cool episode Popcross 😎
This was incredible. I've been a fan of your fantasy based videos since they always have great designs as well as interesting stories to share, and I've always loved DreamWorks since I was litte since I just love everything that has to do with them...and I just love a lot of their series. So seeing you turn some DreamWorks animated characters as if they were fantasy creatures is incredible. I especially loved Toothless's design the most. Shrek's gives off that classic almost wild beast look to him that's ready to show his unique set of skills while at the same time showing others that he's someone that despite looking intimidating can still have a gentle heart...plus I love how he still rocks his iconic look and I love how his design resembles those high fantasy ogres since they look amazing, Po’s gives off a cool simple and sleek gentle giant look that's willing to demonstrate his fighting skills and show everyone that he can stand strong with the others...plus I love how he rocks the whole were-creature look of his iconic design and I can see him being a fearsome warrior with skills in the martial arts that will also protect the balance of nature, Toothless's design gives off that feel of a calm and mysterious predator that's willing to show everyone that despite being considered as a none threatening upon first glance he's still capable of being quite fearsome if need be...plus I really love how he looks like a much more cooler version of himself and really showcases just how mighty dragons are. This was an amazing video with a new topic...and I like it. I'd love to see you turn some more DreamWorks animated characters as if they were fantasy creatures since I think there is still so much more to tell. I'd also be ok with seeing you do a video on drawing some more DreamWorks animated characters as either kaijus, SCPs, Superheroes or as mech/fantasy armours, since I think that would be pretty interesting...plus if its the case for armours, I think Benny and Vasilia would have a blast, and it would be fun to see Benny and Vasilia come up with armour ideas based on some of these powerful fighters and perhaps even work on a joint project and make a fantasy-mech armour hybrid. If you end up doing a part 2 to this; I want to see you use Spirit (Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron), Jack (Rise of The Guardians) or Arrgh (Trollhunters) since i think these one could have some interesting stories to tell. I also can’t wait to see how Mara’s story continues in the multiverse tales episodes. Great job as always Christian and I can’t wait to see what you draw on Monday’s video.
P.s. do you think you could do a video of turning dinosaurs into mech armours? Cuz I want to see how Benny Sharp and Champagne McGregor would get along. Also do you think you could do a video we’re you turn Disney princesses into witches. Also could you try something with Apex Legends?

This was really fun. I have an idea for an episode that involves Metal Hellsinger or it’s main character The Unknown. Here is what the story is about…. (By the way it’s a episode that involve ultra violent video game characters in a D&D story)
The Unknown (a Tiefling who was banished by the Red Judge who also took her voice) to go through 9 realms with her team of adventures which consist of a bounty hunter Fallen Aasimar (Dante from Devil May Cry), a demon slaying paladin (Doom Guy), and a demon slaying witch who knows how to beat people up with we feet (Bayonetta). The story ends up dealing with bosses that are from all of the games I mentioned, and ends with a D&D version of the Red Judge from Metal Hellsinger
The narrator is the Skull that tags along with the Unknown (which contains the soul of the Unknowns lover, Paz), also he has a southern draw to his voice (for research, just watch some cutscenes for Paz’s voice).

Also can we get a horror themed episode on the week of Scream 6 or Evil Dead Rises releases? I think a Certain dragon episode deserves a part 2 and even add a new character to the series… here’s that idea
Spencis Charnas Origin
After studying the Honey-Hook Wyvern, I end up seeing a couple of knights from the Las Angels Guard working on a quest about the death of a women who has connections to a specific person they were looking for which has a connection to these dragons I was studying. So I was lead to this carnival of carnage we’ll call it which had some of the dragons I talked about already like the Fanged Jester, the Scorched Nightmare, The October Slow Stalker, and the 4 other dragons that I mentioned already. It made me remember the times I went to the kingdom where Willis Afterian used his so called dragons as attractions which is now a different kingdom entirely at this point and the kingdom has been destroyed by the time I’m telling you about him.
But I also saw and interview the owner of this place and his name was Spencis Charnas. He was wearing a suit that resembled half of a Scorched Nightmare and a Crystal Lake Camp Stalker with half of his face (well 25% of his face) covered with the fake skull of one of these dragons. But he also was holding a cane with a skull on top of the handle and wore (just for show) a bladed glove which represented the right hand of a scorched nightmare. He told me that he was really fascinated about these dragons sense he was little when he encountered the same exact October Slow Stalker that I studied that was caged here, which he said inspired someone to kill his sister, her friends, and even his parents which he ended up killing him in self defense but also he was a kid at the time and I don’t know if a kid could kill a full grown adult. Then he told me other things about him like he is the leader of a traveling folk story group that tells tales of these dragons.
But when he said that I did see when studying the Crystal Lake Camp Stalker that there were these lines of their little tale in the area which said…
"He Drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake"
And then I forgot about when I studied the Honey-Hook Wyvern I saw these lines which read….
"Left to die under the sun
The hive never spared anyone
How 'bout the hand for the honey bees
Hooked on the creed of their colony"
The most messed up part about the writing is that they were written in the blood of the dead bodies that were at the area where they were written.
Also Spencis told me about this place’s history and the dragons that he really wants in here and he even gave me the privilege to study them after hours when the place closes since he knew I was the Overseer of this world and knew how much I liked studying mythical beast, he would even asked me to create more of these types of dragons if I wanted too.
Then I asked him the big question that I think he knew I was gonna ask which was….
Why is the Las Angels Guard after you?
He told me more about his past where he was connected with the case of the death of Elias Black who was the alchemist who would help Spencis with his nightmares while he was traveling with his group which he told me that the fanged jester that was caged here, which I remembered that I studied that exact same fanged jester tortured Elias and killed him and now he is connected to the death of the women that I heard about which turned out is his Fiancé and the Las Angels leader Captain Harris isn’t stopping until he is behind bars. But Spencis told me that he knows who really killed her and he won’t stop until the real killer pays for what he has done.
But then I shook his hand and then left after talking to him and he even asked me if I was coming to opening night of the carnival and I told him yes and he told me these four words that I won’t forget "Sometimes…. Dead is Better." Which ended up gave me a shiver that went down my spine for some reason.
Then the big night came and Spencis Sang one of his songs with his group which was the Anthem to this place.
Then Spencis say these three words that would end up sticking with me every time I go to this place no matter if this place is opened or not which were…

(For context the character of Spencis is based off of Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas as a ringmaster like character, and The Honey-Hooked Wyvern and the Christal Lake Camp Stalker are based off of Candyman and Jason Voorhees respectively)

It is theorized and indeed possible to be Godzilla Junior, son of Heisei Godzilla)(The possible result if a Monolithic Shin god and Legendary Godzilla Dragon counterpart mated(Got this idea from the Yian Garuga, since it was the result of a Rathian and a Yian Kut-ku mating). It totally be more Powerful due to being the offspring of 2 other godzilla dragons(which would mean it would probably have some of their abilities, such as Shin's adaptation/evolution and Legendary's Intelligence or Physical Strength), as well as much more Stronger, has more control and is just Legendary! And probably Immortal just like any Godzilla. XD)(My name for it: The Sovereign Shintitan god)(If you do this one, I have a favor to ask. Please don't kill it and turn it into armor. A T-Rex demon that is, instead of a Demon that feeds off of fear, is a defiant demon that hunts and feeds on other Demons(Was thinking of it being an anti-hero). Why Hunt something small when it can go for bigger tougher game. Hatred, Defiance, and/or Hunger can drive even anything down a different path. And the toughest game would be the very thing that created it: Sauriecluss himself.

I overall think this episode was pretty good, but I'm kinda disappointed you dident draw a 4th drawing. Using a character from the bad guys would have been pretty awesome to see. But yeah nice job.

I have a few suggestions that could be considered if your interested.
- Motorcity characters as Tron programs, I consider Tron uprising and Motorcity sister shows that were spectacular.
- Ben 10 villains x One Piece Villains fusions, ideas like Ma Vreedle x Big Mom, Vilgax x Kiado, or Aggregor x Blackbeard.
- Motorcity cars as transformers, The cars designs and styles were sick.
- Disney XD character fusions, the shows from that network could use more spotlight.
Can I do 3 really full of Disney characters as monsters versions of their selves make my day
