I like how Sailfish doesn’t have any wings, imo it gives her a more interesting character, especially because her mother is a Skywing, the tribe known to have best flying. I also just wish WoF touched on flightless dragons more, there are characters that can’t fly, like Osprey and silkwing dragonets, but there are many questions left unanswered, like, how do they get around when it appears that a lot of structures are built in way that isn’t easily accessible to flightless dragons?
I always imagined that Flightless Dragons (aside from Rainwings and Silkwings) Would have a hard time getting around without Help and are contently pushing for stairs and ramps to be installed.
I always thought it would be a bit like wheelchair accessibility in real life, were things like bridges or nets would be installed for dragons that need them

I always thought something similar too! It always feels like Carnelian died just so we could have closure on Peril, who I'm not the biggest fan of... Either way, even if Book 8 followed a similar plot, it could work perhaps even better with Carnelian, given the theory that she's a princess. Apologies for ranting a bit.

But I agree with you for the most part. While I like Peril, and I think her book is good, it feels like it has no point other than disposing of Scarlet (which Peril didn’t really do anything but burn the enchanted item when Chameleon told her) and freeing Darkstalker. So yeah, probably should have been a winglet. And I feel like Carnelian totally should have lived. I would have loved to see more of her. Also, maybe she could die LATER in the series so we could finally get the Kinkajou MC that we DESPERATELY NEED? I don’t know, maybe I made an essay. But yeah. My opinions.

@@redrumtheartist6275 i do agree with the parts in the perentisies but the size and shape of the wings are super hard for me to get, the wing can be to big or small or thick or thin or tall or overall crooked, im just daying i havent had much expirience with drawing wings quickly, i can do them but when i draw i draw quick (but not bad) and its easy to mess up the wing for me (longest sentence ever lol.) (SRRY I SUCK AT SPELLIN)
For me the talons are the difficult part because I try to draw them in a book way instead of simple 4 bendy claws like Dragonsheep does for example, cause I have barely ever seen anyone draw claws in a book way except Peregrinecella(I think I spelled that right) who is probably the most accurate WoF dragon draw-er out there

So my first oc was an Mudwing-Icewing hybrid also named Permafrost, except she was a girl and her personality was directly plagiarized from Sunny. She had an older half brother, a Skywing-Icewing named Sparrowhawk (my second oc), who was kind of a jerk but very protective of her. He was based of my irl big brother; we still laugh about it sometimes.
Also have a Permafrost, but she's sassy. That's it. I didn't give her any other characterization. Nice seeing so many other Permafrost's out in the world! Edit: Ice-Mud

A lot of people actually do, I remember him and some other people in the comments do at least, but I’m… not entirely sure Dragonsheep has read all the books(I wouldn’t expect everyone to have) because she also named a hybrid Cereus who is also a canon SandWing from Dragonslayer- oh and Axolotl(as a name) is a human from book 15, so when she asked if there are axolotl in WoF I think only Cricket and Bullfrog knew what one was so they’re not THAT well-known but they are a thing apparently. Sorry, I kind of rambled about that-

i like to think that sailfish's tail is because the skywing dna didn't know what to do with the adaptive underwater traits of a seawing so made it a kind of tadpole tail. just spitballing hear
Animus is past down in the tribe with dna so its not much a chance for sailfish to have Animus powers, tho Turtle couldve been past down from Fathom or Albotross with the Animus so this a tiny chance,
