Joe Biden's motorcade leaves parliament in Ottawa after border agreement announced - March 2023

Biden and his motorcade leaving Canada's parliament shortly after the president met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the pair announced Roxham Road would be closed. His convoy is seen travelling north along Sussex Drive.
Roxham Road is an irregular border crossing point between Quebec and upstate New York. The Safe Third Country agreement between the U.S. and Canada requires migrants to seek asylum in the first of the two countries they arrive in. However, for nearly a decade, migrants have been crossing from the U.S. to Canada using what has been described as a 'loophole' in the agreement. As of March 25, 2023, that loophole was closed.
