Rellana is probably my favorite boss so far. No tricks. No gimmick. Very intense battle. Music is a beautiful fast waltz-like. You and her dancing the night away! Well done Blue!
I had more problems fighting the npc knight than I did the boss. I used the great shield with golden retaliation and great stars with prayerful strike. 10/10 Great Kenneth Haight impression!

Rellana was my first Remembrance Boss, and what a fight it was! Managed to beat her on only my second try, but I was using Lhutel as a distraction and tank, so I could throw Bolts of Grandsax at her to deal very big damage. As a boss she's a beast. Very long combos, can cover distance very fast, very hard to stunlock, has a pretty big healthpool, can deal 3 different kinds of damage, powerful special attacks, and has a near Malenia-like super-attack in the Double Moons, which I only survived on my winning fight because I dodged the first explosion due to being airborne while throwing an Ancient Lightning Spear at her! The Dancing Lion wasn't as hard by comparison, even if its movement is pretty wild.
Rellana, the long lost child of Lady Maria of the Clocktower and Pontiff Sullyvahn. What a fun fight! I am always glad to see you struggle with the same things like I do: guard counters work well against her in theory, however you need to be extremely patient to wait for the final attack, and only then the guard counter may be applied. Otherwise she just continues with her combos and punishes you badly. Question: was this fight already on the latest calibration 1.12.2 with the massively increased defense boost of the Scadutree blessings? I would have expected that you'd take more damage due to the scorpion charm, but you seemed to absorb quite a lot of hits.
These remembrances bosses are different. The environment and exploration are 10/10, but the bosses are amped to like a 20 out of 10. And I have like 9 scudtree blessings. I’m loving the DLC but when I see a fog wall I’m like “great, here’s a 2-3 hour slog”, and I beat darn near every boss in the base game.
I’m loving this Let’s Play. Rellana gives me mixture feelings like Dancer of the Boreal Valley and Pontiff Sullivan. Love these two bosses and now Rellana.
I'm not sure I understand the idea of the Faith at 70pts, but playstyle as melee, it seems counter to the build. So much time spent backing away and waiting for an ideal window to run in for 2 hits or so... all that time with no spell damage going out, while the summons just get wrecked. I saw you tried to heal them mid fight, seemed odd that it didn't work, but that was a good idea. I did this on the Lion fight, I both healed the group and also did the protection buff on them and it worked really well.
I looked at my setup and I was using Great Heal ( 45 fp ) and then Protection of the Erdtree ( 30 fp ). "Blessing of the Erdtree" is a heal over time buff by the description?
So I beat this fight today, spent a lot of attempts yesterday trying out various weapons/spells, but here is what finally workled. I had NPC Leda plus the Shield-boyz, and cast Prot of the Erdtree and Golden Vow, which I refreshed halfway through. Attacked with bloodflame only, and then healed the group with Great heal on 1st half, and Erdtree Heal on 2nd Half. All summons lived to the end of the fight, I used Blood Lords Trinket but was unsure if that affects spells or summons. 👍
Rellana: A Knight in armor which are generally weak to pierce, standing in a pool of water enhancing lightning damage. Blue: Yeah I'm just going to use this slow holy strike weapon LMAO Come on. You are the one who taught me to carry and use many different weapons and to be aware of the surroundings. :p
Man this guy never switches it up weapons or summons or talismans. just same thing over and over…maybe he could of mixed it up a bit with less pain although we’ve all been there..sorry to see mild manners Blue using bad weapon and bad summons for this fight..torture
Because, in theory, any build should work against any boss, even if one may be more of a challenge. I have always played with what I enjoy using, not catering to what "works best." I'm not saying my way is correct, I'm simply saying that this is how I find enjoyment in these games (even when I struggle repeatedly). For others, they enjoy the min maxing approach, squeezing every point of damage out. I also become much more strategic as I play through multiple times.
As long as you enjoy it..I am a determined player too and will fight a boss 100 times if I have to..but watching your other play throughs you always mix it up and try different weapons armor etc..that’s what I love about your play throughs ..also you actually examine what you pick up,which I love.. and try to figure out how it might fit…just know how I can get so tired of same fight but you kept at it and didn’t “sound” like you were losing your mind as others do so Bravo for that
I did skip over a fair bit, but really enjoyed what I saw. Such a beautifully designed boss fight (by From Software). I took her down second time - fightin cowboy said a faith build tears through this DLC and he's right. She had no reply to the Black Blade (times 2 - my mimic as well).
That was an amazing. U got her after only 11 trys . . . I skipped to the winning fight after the first 10 runs 😁 . . . As far as im concerned the first 10 were practice runs so only the last one counted as your "real" attempt
The description of the haligtree soldiers state that when they are weakened they explode as a last-ditch effort. I swear they are exploding at half life. They explode too early. They should fight more because their explosions usually don’t even hit Rellana.

Nope! This fight was several days ago! Everything I have recorded (up to part 15) was before the calibration.

all dlcs are like that in from soft games, Friede, gale. hell i havent beaten the first bloodborne dlc boss.

I used Tiche w Reduvia, both maxed out. Blood loss is my go-to for hard boss fights. Nice job.

It seems like the effective range of the Erdtree Heal is a bit shorter than the visual cue? I'm not sure.

I actually found I was more focused going in solo with no buffs. It helped me learn the fight a bit better!

way too op. challenge is one thing but that was a slog. has 3 million HP and kills you in 2 hits.
