Never mind yer tube trains I can remember when it was steam trains. We moved to Theydon Bois in 1958 and went to Ongar on the steam train to visit my Grandparents, who lived in a cottage next to the Red Lion pub.
Brings back memories (I was brought up near the district line and started my commuting days in 1986) remember the old rolling stock well. Even had smoking carriages on the trains then too!
Another that should not have closed housing was increasing beyond Epping so they close the line. New housing now surrounds Ongar but now have to drive to Epping..
so there used to be 8 stations beyond the M25 till the section to ongar shut there are now only 5 (epping, amersham, chesham, chalfont & latimer and chorleywood)
Great footage mate absolutely brilliant
I used to travel a lot from Epping into the City but only from 2010; thanks for this authentic journey back to a previous time.

This takes me back sounds sights and smells included. thanks for uploading.
Loved riding these trains, from Perivale to Notting Hill Gate, and walked to Holland Park School!
Loving the train sound!
Now if they had services straight through between Ongar and West Ruislip, that would have been a memorable journey.
Yesss
Fascinating. The old Blake Hall station at 5:05 as well.
A pity why they shut the line down between Epping & ongar in 1994
Central Line 1962 Tube Stock
Back then this was London Underground's only exclusively rural branch.
@@TreeMovies It certainly is now the most rural of all the London Underground branches.
@@speakfreeley4473 there’s also Brentwood and Shenfield too now
Great vid, I can see now that the OpenBVE sim is fairly accurate.
Guard didn't hang around too long on opening and closing the doors at North Weald.

I've been to Amersham 3 years ago and it is quiet... very.
@@mustafaaniladanir the elizabeth line ain't part of the London tube network
Ongar could do with a tube station. The bus services are terrible.
There IS NO - North Weald Station Again.
wheelspin!
oh yeah: 2:15, tell me i'm wrong but is the cameraman checking out the woman with the umbrella??
Wait.....1993 drove trains to Ongar but the 1992 stock was never there lol
The 1992 tube stock did go to Ongar a few times, but this was done for testing, during the weekends.
Good
#TreeMovies I think because they don't like where it is or it wasn't with that many people and/or people don't use it that much.
