oh i love these tutorials!! I had suggested/asked about you guys offering pillar wax a little while back and I really appreciate makesy taking the time to create these videos and really listening to their customers. Your products are superior to any other supplier I've found. Thank you!
Aw yay! We really strive to make products based on what our customers want and need. Thank you for your feedback that helped lead to this launch and thanks for being a part of our amazing community!
HI, I am new to candle making. Just doing as a hobby and because I like the smells. I just started to try making the pillar candles. Learning mistake did not know there was special wax. I got the pillar wax now, Soy Pillar wax, candles design came out great but they burn realllly fast. What can cause that? A pillar candle to burn fast.
You can but you'll want to make sure you burn test sufficiently to ensure it doesn't melt too fast! We recommend starting with the skinniest single ply wicks we have.
You can reference our Wick Selection Guide for recommendations on the appropriate wick to use for your pillar wax type and mold diameter! makesy.com/pages/makesy-wick-selection-guide
@@makesyofficial This wax has a melting point of 140f which is way too low for pillar candles. If you make a pillar candle with this wax it will just drip over the side and be a huge mess within a couple minutes. Does it have added polycrystalline wax or vybar to help it burn dripless? Why is this being suggested as a good wax for pillar making???
bad video. You don't show the candle actually burning. Making a good pillar candle means choosing a wax that will burn "drip-less" and the right size candle wick. You didn't talk about any of that. I'm betting this candle will just drip right down the side and be a huge mess within 5 minutes.
Sorry we weren't able to burn this candle in the video, but it did turn out great! Yes, ideally a pillar candle will be self-contained with it's melt pool. For yourself or anyone needing help finding the right size wicks, check out this pillar candle chart based on the mold sizes we offer: makesy.com/pages/pillar-candle-wick-sizing-chart?_pos=1&_psq=pillar+chart&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Can you cut off the metal piece on the wick?
Do they need to cure ???
Exactly what wax are you using?

Check your wick size! If your wick is too large for the candle it will burn more quickly
Can you use wood wick for the pillar candle?
