My Mom started making this cake in the late 70s after getting the recipe from a lady she worked with when they had a pot luck dinner. Now I make it and it's definitely on top of the list as a family favorite. The only difference with yours is the name. We call it a "Pig Eating Cake" because my Daddy made the comment the first time we had it. " Your definitely going to make a pig out of yourself eating this, because It's so delicious!". Lol

That looks like the PERFECT cake! I might sprinkle coconut flakes all over that for a snowy winter Christmas and with jelly beans for Easter.

I never heard of this. If I ever made it, I would be the pig picking it. How did it get its name?
