Last Time 2 NA Teams made a Major playoffs was Starladder Berlin 2019 with Team Liquid and NRG making the playoffs. It also happened in the Faceit London Major 2018 with Team Liquid and Complexity Gaming making the playoffs and the first time was MLG Columbus as you guys mentionned.
It's got all the makings of it happening again tbh, Liquid look to be a team who can semi-regularly get into playoffs so all it takes now is Wildcard, M80, or Complexity being ~top 12 in the world and they *should* realistically be in the 2-2 games of swiss stages at least. And then anything can happen
I highly highly doubt falcons will reach it. But i think everyone including yourself king t are very slightly underselling falcons peak. Falcons realistically achievahle peak may be top 5 top 6. But if literally every question mark gets solved, aka kyxsan works well with zonic and doesnt miss saw, niko gels well chemistry wise, and if magisk and degster regain some old form. Say magisk sitting at a consistent 1.06 and degster 1.14. Then have teses STOP crumbling at playoffs. Bam in my opinion thats a TOP THREE team. Issue is. I think falcons will be lucky to solve 2-3 of those question marks , not all 5 of them. So i totally agree with all of you that falcons REALISTICALLY achievable peak is borderline top 5. But i do think that their actual peak, their unrealistic to be achieved but STILL POSSIBLE peak, is closer to borderline top 3 , technically falcons could even have a fugasi number 1 team appearance on hltv rankings for like a week or two, its just a week of being number 1 on hltv doesnt actually make you number 1. Not that any of this really changes yalls opinion on falcons still not having a roster that can realistically achieve dominance or number 1. Im not arguing that in the slighest! I just find it fun to discuss cs and simply think their actual peak is 2 placements higher than most say
If I was ropz and had the chance to sign with vitality, and a future around an org clearly willing to build around zywoo, or g2 who will lose monesy unless the org who has success this season, I reckon g2 will be kicking themselves for not going for ropz for Hunter earlier. If it was any igl ropz Niko monesy malbs it would’ve been nuts firepower
I think peak s1mple was paid 3 mil/year. So probably about 100k/month, and maybe 1 million buyout depending on the terms. Considering Jason Lake said sticker money was much lower for this major, so it makes sense that teams are willing to take the cash rn 😢
Heroic core was worth all the valve standing points hence the high fee. Niko has been interested in falcons for a year now G2 couldn’t charge a stupid amount for him as he will have very little time left on his G2 contract relative to the heroic players most likely.
reported buyout was 1-1.2 mill as T said reported salary was something insane like $85k/mo they're obviously overpaying for the Heroic core since it's worth VRS so it's not exactly applicable, but even comparing to whole cores/teams who have been sold before it's crazy high compare to the Gambit roster which Cloud9 bought for a reported $1M exactly
I just don't understand how people are fine with Teses on a roster that is supposed to win a major when he is one of the players with the worst fall-off in arenas. No hate on him, but...isn't he gonna be blamed for everything if things don't work out?
Should he play poorly, yes. Though I don't think this exact roster should have major winning expectations, just the expectation to outperform 2024's mess
I think the main point is to have a top 32 core so that they can make it to the top tier events and then can swap out these guys later down the line with Monesy, Jimpphat etc.
