Hello world it's me. Paul, the guy who “doesn’t like the buzzz that much” and heres my stance to discgolf scociety...
The buzzz vs emac truth for me comes down to the bead.
The Emac truth with the bead makes the hand feel more comfortable and it seems to fit better in my hand. Because of that i’ve combo-ed the emac truth with the buzzzSS (also Beaded) for two discs that feel very similar to me but produce dramatically different flight shapes. the buzzz just feels different and im trying for similar and comfortable disc feel accross my bag, even if the discs are used for different stabilities and shot shapes.
Not against the Buzzz here (actually have one in the bag and gonna give it another try this year with an open mind, but im not comited enough to go play disc golf in this ohio weather) S/O Max for the off season DG content!!!!!
End of the day both mid ranges are staples and two of the GOATs for mids. It's up to you to pick one and throw it into first available with!
Emac truth is definitely one of my top-3 discs in my bag
I throw a Truth instead of a Buzzz and I can say it can go much farther than a Buzzz but the Truth hates to be thrown nose up and so it will act pretty over stable sometimes for newer players
I bag the buzzz and the emac truth. The truth will hold an angle way better than a buzzz on shots with more power
My friend Sean has both a Truth (5 5 0 1) and EMac Truth (5 5 0 2) in Prime Burst plastic and the EMac version is noticeably more stable, despite being in base plastic. The regular Truth may be more comparable to a Buzzz. That said, I appreciate your effort to make the throws for both more similar, to better highlight the differences. Keep up the great work!
I was gonna say! I have a regular truth and it’s no where near as stable as the emac this guys throwing. I find it to be more under stable than the buzz actually
Bought a Buzzz when I first started because I heard it was the best selling disc. It just doesn't go anywhere for me. I hate the feel in my hands. EMac Truth is my favorite disc. As still a newer player, it just flys so straight. I almost feel like I am cheating.
It took me a long time to officially say I liked the buzzz at first I didn’t throw it very well but now I love it as my go to mid. Always nice finding that perfect disc !
Great content! Bag an emac truth but the buzzz hype is real out there. I think the regular truth might be closer to the buzzz than the Emac truth. One way to avoid the angle issue on reviews is to just alternate tee box shots. That way when you adjust your shot on the 2nd one there is no seeming favoritism, you're going to do the same thing on the next hole. It works itself out in the end.
I bag both a regular truth and an emac truth as my stable and neutral slot and a buzz ss as my understable slot
Hey man great vid. I liked how you demonstrated the different flight angles midway through, as you would have already had some previous flights to get a feel of the discs. I would watch more comparisons from ya, be it disc to disc or plastic to plastic.
Great Video. Makes sense the discs are similiar..Because EMAC threw the BUZZ alot when playing for discraft.
Well, the flight characteristics depend on plastic and how heavy and/or domy they are. Buzz has huge variability from disc to disc and from plastic to plastic. Both are good when thrown correctly, if they fit in the hand. Think the Lucid plastic is a bit more slippery in certain conditions than e.g. Z or ESP FLX. YMMV. The embossed text inside Buzz rim helps with the grip.
Solid video 👍 I like to see disc reviews or comparisons done on a course or at least a target. Drone footage is pretty cool too . 😉
Trilogy plastic beats in rather fast, so after about a month I find Lucid/Fuzion EMac Truth to be very much the same stability as a Z Buzzz or a beefy run of ESP Buzzz.
The biggest difference being that the EMac Truth is a slightly faster disc with a slightly wider rim.
Good review, I do feel like there is a tradeoff with the Truth, because of the sharper nose. In the wind it's more picky about angles. It does go farther with more glide. I bag the Emac Truth, you just got to know it's more aggressive.
I have a old (I think 2008) esp buzzz that fades pretty hard at the end and I just gotten a Emac truth yesterday and I must say it's an upgrade by far but they both have a place.
However I've only thrown that buzzz and that Emac truth so I don't have a lot of types of them to compare to.
I replaced my buzzz with a Latitude 64 compass because it is more stable and less fade yet still very predictable and holds lines great.
The Emac truth is comparable to my star mako3 discs but seems to have a little more speed and distance.

I throw emac truth because of that little bit more stability. I like to keep fewer molds when I can so I have a new lucid one that is pretty beefy for the wind and a fuzion on I've beat up pretty good. I'd say it's basically a buzz now. I like them for the stability because beating them in feels like the midrange equivalent to beating in the Teebirds I throw and love haha
Wild, I have a lucid x Truth(blue) that was squirrelly from day one basically. A bought a Fuzion(Yellow) and it has been very dependable, I wouldn't say beefy but flies true to the numbers. The one that is in my bag most of the time is an old metallic flake lucid that is killer. Very neutral flyer but dependable. It comes out of the bag during the fall cause it is reddish orange leaf color and I don't want to lose it, lol
Solid content! ❤ my EMac truth! As for content ideas, don’t be a fair weather disc golfer. Make some videos that address the challenges of playing in colder weather.
I prefer the Mako 3 myself 😀
I'll take a Truth over a Buzz any day. Of course, I'd take a Roc, any version, or a Discmania Method over a Buzz.
Truth is good for stand still 4 hands.

@@j.johnson8360 just got done throwing and I still love my meteors More. My 182g esp just hits my line perfect every time and stays dead straight. Truth will drift right to far sometimes or come out nose up and hyzer out. Meteor just stalls out straight if nose up
First and foremost, you need to kick Paul out of your life. Nobody needs that kind of negativity.
Second, Buzzz is just the best. I have a Buzzz SS and OS ace, and SO many close calls with the standard Buzzz.
