Monsoon has one of the most unique come up stories. From being homeless but never giving up on his dream, he has become one of the most iconic players in the Apex scene. His professional journey hasn't been easy however. Once being the best in the game, he had a major drop off between 2021-2023. Now he returns to LAN for the first time in 4 years. Monsoon was the goat because he was one of the only pros who would actually stream scrims. He’d mute when talking through mistakes but it was so cool getting to actually see what was happening in scrims and who was doing well.

The level of competition keeps rising, and it was the first time most international teams could play with a full roster and not subs. Truly one of the most competitive tournaments so far.

people forget just how respected complexity was.. worlds edge they literally ran the entire northeastern section of the map. Teams would avoid dropping anywhere near that area, forget directly challenging them as they would loot and wipe your squad out immediately. That guaranteed them on alot of zones multiple points before 3rd zone and easy placement points after that. They were so dominant

I was just thinking watching this lan like I don’t think there’s anyone who has been in the Apex comp scene as long as Monsoon who has gotten as little exposure as him. Actually remember watching his stream years ago and him being pretty cool/not as overly sensitive as a lot of Apex streamers.

You did touch upon it but it needs to be highlighted that Complexity invented the Gibby meta, which is the longest lasting meta in Apex lasting even longer than Wraith.
They aren't the reason Gibby was still good, he hardly gets nerfed and the maps favored his kit. That why you see him fall in and out of meta.

I would love a vid on Mendo Liquid, my man I would mainly watch for IGL tips at the time and I personally felt like was such a hidden gem.

monsoon is the goat. ill never forget dying to coL in the summer circuit on kc, and after a 3v3 fight we lost and watched them drop like 30 kills. it was cool back then, you just had to make it to round 2\3 and half the lobby was pro teams. rooting for coL!

Quick note: I was in Monsoon's stream when the shot happened (was editing for his teammate Zachmazer at the time). Shroud didn't raid him after that shot, people were flocking because they wanted to see if he was legit/wanted to praise him. If he raided him, it wasn't after the shot, he was thanking Shroud for the praise because of all the people coming over from Shroud's stream on their own (thousands coming over)
First off, whats up Mike! Ik you've been an editor for a bunch of the top Apex creators for a while, preciate the comment. Second, I recall in my research I had found it was a raid and why I said that, but maybe what I found was wrong. Actually makes the whole situation much more astonishing that many people flocked in from one clip, pretty cool!
I got teamed with that ishiny guy in a pub once. Easiest win I ever had. Dude was just going around so fast killing everyone. To them three stacking pubs must be a cakewalk.
That reminds me of back in season 0 when I got teamed with sickks, who is now 100Ts coach. Insane game and then it was crazy to go seem him win an online ALGS tourney with Wigg lmfao.

You can't play ultra aggressive and have continued success in Apex. Other teams adapt. It's happened time and time again. Complexity, Sentinels, Furia, Aurora, Fire Beavers, all once considered the best fighting team in their region have seen success then fallen off the face of the earth. It generates a greater level of variance that you can't sustain in a positive manner when other teams adjust their play style to counter.
This is a really interesting point, I may actually look into this deeper!
my son euriece one's one of the best player in apex,team up with hill and rkn,but things didnt go well for him when ALGS finals is about to happen,he suppose to go US but doesnt have a visa coz during that time he's 18 and holding a PR in canada...so torrent gave up on him
