I've been painting off You Tube for about a year and a half. I'm 71 and thought through my whole life "You are NOT AN ARTIST" because of a silly thing that happened when I was 6. I've just found you on here and I must say I'm thrilled to find a teacher who makes these pictures seem so do-able. Thank you! I'm going to try this picture and go on from there to really develop my work, and your attitude is so appreciated.

Morton in the moonlight is very nice. Tried this one & when you say less is more you are correct. Tried to do more & ended up redoing the bottom half of the painting. I still want to put something in the bottom but going to think about it, thank you!

Thanks for helping me I just started trying to paint easier with your tutorial I was going to add a picture but its not letting me
What is the difference between using hydrated water compared to Floetrol? I have used Floetrol very sparingly ( a few drops) to some paints that just don't want to spread over the canvas. I have had to fight with them, so I either add a tad of water that makes the paint too runny (probably my fault) so the Floetrol helps better. Perhaps this hydrated water is the best way to go.
