讀U of Waterloo 的co-op program 最易揾工啦!我D兒女和我朋友的兒女，未曾畢業就全部找到full time job 啦。不過，讀co op program 一定要 work very hard 捱得。幾年都要一直捱，無假放㗎! Remember, hard work pay off.

Ryerson was a Polytechnical School before, very good in practical side. Waterloo famous for it Computer program. In early 70, engineering computer programs like Fortran w4 (formula translation Waterloo version 4)and w5 were developed by Waterloo. Very strange, last time I left a comment why both of you missed York University? York locating in Toronto and is the third largest university in Canada, very strong in business programs, MBA , BBA plus film school. Other programs famous from Queens is Medical School, Geotech and Clean energy. Hope both of you can do more research about University and College in Canada. Keep on the good work.

It depends on which campus you study in U of T cos only downtown campus are top notch and it is extremely difficult to get in and the other two campuses in Mississauga and Scarbough are very easy to get in and not a top notch even it is still under U of T so be aware. When you tell people you study in U of T , the next question they will ask you is which campus cos they know only downtown campus is well known not the other two campuses.
same with UBC Vancouver and Kelowna campus
Cannot fully agree. Certain programs especially for professional programs are only available in UTSG, such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, Pharmacy. UTM and UTSc are mostly catering for Arts and Science programs. If your interest is in general arts and science, all three campuses are mostly the same for undergraduate. If you want to pursue professional degrees, except for Engineering, they all require a first degree, you basically have no choice but go to downtown UTSG campus if UofT is your choice.

Hi, I want to know which one is better for computer science between UFT Mississauga or Scarborough?
They are mostly the same for computer science in general. Unless you are interested in computational theories, ie. Theoretical Computer Science, then St. George campus is a must.

I am from UofT engineering. The coop in UT engineering is not mandatory, but it does require the student to have certain number of related experience to graduate. UofT engineering does offer a PEY program which you work for 12-16 months after the 3rd year, then finishing the 4th year and graduate.
This was some years ago, not sure if it has changed now. :)
From my recent experience, UofT is getting VERY expensive, they increase the tuition fee every single year. The school is relatively more competitive than other schools i think, in which professors are getting harder on students. For instance, if you are getting a 49.5% in the course, the profession would have no double to fail the course for you ( and I am that poor student who actually needa re-take the whole course because of that 0.5%) Good things about UofT is they input a lot of recourses for students, I heard that their database for research is like top 10 in the world, and I can actually find almost every single book from UofT library, even a book u randomly search on google. And obviously, ASIANS everywhere. I wouldn't prefer my children to go to UofT thou...uni life should be fun and happy (:
U of Waterloo is well known for computer science not engineering and it is like MIT in US. Very competitive and difficult to get into CS program.
UW is also famous for it's ENGINEERING too
@@giantl4357 Waterloo is also very famous for psychology, based on research productivity and number of citations per publication. Only 1% of applicants are accepted into their psychology PhD program.

Degree graduate 6yrs ago in USA & planning to study Global Logistics & Supply Chain which is a 2 yrs Post-Graduate Diploma program in Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology (MITT). But it has no work practicum. Q1) Is it more difficult to find job after graduation then? Q2) Which Universities/Institutes in Manitoba are more jobs offer (Red River ranks higher in Manitoba but programs closed due to COVID 19)?

The Waterloo co op program us very useful in securing future employment but the stress on the student is intended and may not be suitable for everyone. The students need to study very hard during the term to secure good grades and at the same time spend time to look for jobs, prepare competition and participate in various extra curricular activities to price your leadership and team spirit.
No doubt that Waterloo has one of the highest suicidal date among students
UofT too, let's not scare people off. Not much different than Hong Kong or anywhere in the world. Famous universities and prestigious programs are hard to get in, easy to funk. Competition inside the programs are unimaginably fierce. When a top achiever join a top program, to find out they are the bottom of other top achievers there, it is not a nice revelation. I've seen students couldn't take that and committed suicide. A bright mind with narrow vision can be hazardous.
Right now a lot of universities have coop as well.

My son is studying 2A term of Math major at Waterloo. He is also preparing to apply for Co op jobs for the following term. Really can't express in words how stressful his life is. I can foresee that it must be very difficult to find his first co op in pandemic. If anyone knows any good companies open for Fall co op (Sep to Dec), kindly let me know. Thanks so much

No, any professional programs in Canada has quota for international applicants, but successful incumbents must be exceptional or sponsored by their own countries or Canada.

因為postgraduate 偏向research based，但我想讀技術&idea 上重啲嘅degree/ diploma，
但又唔知咁樣讀second degree 會唔會無咁好
Most famous for animation is Sheridan College. Their Animation and Game Design Program is world famous, but be prepared for fierce competition. Every year, DreamWorks and Pixar go there to scout for talents, not uncommon for their graduates to have job before finishing degree. Sheridan is located in Oakville, Ontario. 1 hour drive to the west of Toronto downtown.
