what a scrungy mountain. Sandstone gets a lot weaker when its wet...so people usually would avoid climbing it then. Not sure about volcanic rock? Seems like porous rock like that would be sketchy. I saw a mountain lion on PCT CA section D. (never saw one before) I did not know they are up there in Oregon. I guess they hunt at night. The one I saw was around 5pm.
Yeah the whole mountain was pretty crumbly, as is most of our beautiful Oregon choss piles🤠 but yep we have plenty of cougars up here as well. Check out the news articles from the mountain lion that got stuck up on Haystack Rock on the Oregon Coast this past summer!
