It wasn't the tune, it wasn't bled all the way. Also my temp gauge isn't reading right on the cluster so I thought it was running hot but it's normal. There's a video up on it as well

U gotta try the temp gage sensor that connects below the distributor. I did that to my cb7 and fixed my cooling temp since it started opening the thermostat at that times it was supposed to. I’m still new at this stuff but I did it back in 2018. (Also changed radiators and thermostat and cooling temp sensors which didn’t fix my problem before I did the temper gage sensor if that’s what u call it.)
My fans stopped working. I didn't even know it. I could run my engine sitting in the garage for 30 mins or more and the temp gauge would be normal. These engines run very cool and don't need much airflow through the radiator at idle. I found out one day sitting in traffic with 100 deg outside. Still didn't over heat that bad. I would trust the gauge. A water pump wouldn't hurt though. The only other thing is a thermostat in backwards, but I don't think it would fit backwards.

your problem could be the radiator fan switch,and temperature sensor, check ur fan relay also .get an oem replacement ones . don't get off brand, it usually mess ups with off brand. i had to replace my rad fan switch on my 90 corolla gts, at first i replaced it with one of those off brand for 12 bucks, it worked then it started messing, sometimes work sometimes didn't. so i bit the bullet and get an oem one , since my car is so old, it barely has any parts left in stock, and the fan switch cost me 80$, but it works perfectly, it never mess up no more. u can always test ur thermostat, take it out and throw it in boiling water to see if it open up and close.
Try a good brand name thermostat. My buddies H23 did the same exact thing. We were bleeding the coolant, fans came on, thermostat wouldnt open, rad started boiling over. New thermostat fixed the issue.

This video got me excited. Im getting me an h23 non vtec to swap in cheap af with trans and ecu next year ill prolly get an h23 vtec head slap that on do some wiring tuning and be right there with you in my coupe. M2s4 trans though. Only slightly better than the h2u5 i got now
idk maybe try a different thermostat or get an actual reading of the temps so you can see how hot its actually running, You might need a lower temp themostat so that it can stay open more instead it having to run "hot" just to cool down.
Mine did like that once all I did was open the bleeder valve next to the coolant temp sensor and let the air that's trap in there out you see air and coolant come out once there's no air it be just shooting straight coolant but I had to make sure I had extra coolant in the funnel for the radiator
When you bleed the system make sure your heater is on that way the water flows through the heater and not create a air pocket I had the same problem on a Civic and I just ran it and ran it and I kept idling up and down that way it'll burp the air out of the system also if you can find the original fans is better to run them instead of the aftermarket ones just a suggestion hopefully it works for you man
I think the cb7’s had a fan relay/sensor under the hood by the fender there’s 2 of them and they look like a vtec spool with rubber over it. Just a guess could help I can’t remember for sure hope it helps bro

It sounds like there’s air in the system. I would try believing it one more time. Jack the car up as high as you can in the front. remove the radiator cap and start it up. turn the heater on as soon as you get to operating temperature Close the radiator cap as soon as you see the bubbles stop. I had this problem with my cd5 h22.

Sounds like its the sensors.....cause the thermostat makes a click sound after 5 minutes so you know 👌 its open
Try to drill a couple of hole in the thermostat to keep so water to travel and help to opened a little bettler

Run an aftermarket temp guage. Get an actual number. 190 is about normal.
