You clearly have a strong respect for what your looking at.... Remember it's not California who's getting hit by the Big One... It's Oregon & Washington.... Hopefully they're teaching kids about tsunamis in school

I wonder when, or even if, it ever dawned on the camera operator that this event before him, an event that so rarely takes place, let alone filmed, and would turn out to be this example of such an extremely brutal side of nature, not to mention the huge historical significance of what was being witnessed. And filmed. But I wonder if the cameraman ever stopped a minute, hung up his phone call, and recognize what was happening right in front of him and take it seriously. Yeah apparently not so much.

I am 100 percent sure, living in his “little” safe bubble world of American ignorance that he even stopped to think of the destruction, terror and grief that happened hours earlier to the brothers and sisters of humanity in Japan.

Instead of wondering why don’t you ask him?

@@Anti-leftist7777 yes I'd love to ask Mr. Camera Man. I can do that. Good advice, Lefty.
So, here goes- "Hey, Mr Cameraman! -Did you ever stop to realize what was going on right in front of you? The monumental tragedy about to take place before your eyes, and your camera?
Thank you kindly. Awaiting your response

Okay we'll see how that works okay anti-lefty
There, was that all right? To your standards?

@@allenpeck8239 Whoa, I didn’t even pull the trigger but boy did you appear to be shot through your frontal lobe.
I am hard pressed to understand why anyone would make it their business to speculate on what is going on in the cameraman’s head. What does it matter what he was thinking at the time he was filming, should he have been groveling face down in the dirt worrying about something he had absolutely no control over?
With that in mind think about the science oceanographers and seismologists will glean from the video. In my mind, knowing that there were government owned aircraft updating local officials on the progress of the tsunami, filming the event which happens so infrequently, was an invaluable contribution not only to science but to the engineers tasked with the responsibility of building seawalls etc. sufficient enough to protect current and future residents from events of this magnitude.
      Any other dumb questions?
