It was also the final season of NBC having NFL rights until 2006, the final season the Super Nintendo got a Madden game, and the final season that anyone opted not to use a persistent score bug on screen.

You are correct. But what is going to happen if the NFL goes to a 18 game regular season? Will they play labor day weekend? Or will they be playing the Super Bowl in late February??
@@m8570131 personally i think 18 games is a bit much... i don't really like the 17 game season though because it's an odd number... 9 home games and 8 away games or vice versa just doesn't sit right. but nfl isn't going back to 16 games because $$$, even with the science etc. about the effects of playing football too. So yes they will probably start playing labor day weekend again or stretch the last 2 weeks or so of the season into january and have a later super bowl.
@@starwarsROXmyI think they want to get the Super Bowl to President’s Day weekend, the NFL definitely fixed something that wasn’t broken. Kind of like the World Series going into November, it still doesn’t sit right with, me having the Super Bowl in February.
Love the broadcat team. I know Phil Simms takes alot of crap but this trio is pretty darn good. Dick Enberg, Phil Simms, and Paul Mcguire did SB32 as well and I'll always remember that. Can't stand Jim Gray his interviews always felt cringy.

I miss 90s era football. Once the 2000's rolled around, the quality of play went down hill...fast.
