Superb video. Would it be possible to manually desolder the fixed mid res jumper on the k7500 to the k7400 position to convert k7500 to standard res? Such a shame they removed that jumper to switch res easily.

HI, thanks and glad you liked the video.
no it is not that simple, there are a dozen or more parts that have to be changed and some re-routing of the traces to make it work and that is if you can still even do it.
it is not worth the time or money to do all this.
the 74/75 was the apology chassis line for the badly designed U5000.

Nice video, you helped me determine that I have in fact a u2000 in my big red neo geo and not a k7400

That answers one question I had. I have 2 7500’s one 27 one 33(Star Trek voyager). But opens up another, can one change the location of the jumper wires to make a 7500 run as a standard res? I know someday the security key in voyager is going to die. I would love to be able to drop Area 51 in the cockpit and keep the 33” monitor.

Hi, the 7500 is MED res ONLY, it is not switchable.

great vid! bigger heatsinks for the HOT on the 74/7500. u2/5000 run too hot.

      glad you like it.
do you have a suggestion for the heatsink?
i agree the original design was lacking quite a bit.

@@buffett1978 I always recommend putting a cooling fan in that area around the HOT and vertical heatsinks to keep them nice and cool.

Can I take a u4000 chassis and put it on another monitor?

HI, there is no such U4000 chassis, i am guessing you are referring to the U5000.
the answer is yes and no,
Yes as it is a direct swap for a U2000 as the yoke is the same for both chassis.
yes as it can work with other low impedance yokes.
no, as it can have brightness, contrast and width issues that cannot be adjusted out if placed on another yoke it is not designed for.
      hope that answers your question.

@@buffett1978 yes I meant u5000. Sorry about that.

Great video but why not just read the number silk screened near the fuse or the sticker that says 2520, 2550 or whatever.
No need to over complicate it.
    Also the U series sucks
