    Well, after I mentioned I was a bit intimidated to polish and coat my daughter’s 24 year old BMW, y’all encouraged me to go for it. She and I did that this weekend using the methods y’all recommend and it went very, very well. Other than some rock chips and a few deeper scratches, it turned out fantastic. She is more that happy that her car looks so shiny and new. Thanks for the education and the prodding to do it.

    Intrigued by the treat, rinse, treat…I typically spray a panel before hitting it with the sponge. But then last night I did a pre-treat because road trip bugs and found that I was able to do larger areas without worrying about drying. Even seems to look better! 🤯

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ideally both the DIY Detail Iron Remover and DIY Detail Water Spot Remover should be rinsed. A rinse less Wash can work but it’s not ideal. You can find a friend with a hose, or go to a coin operated car wash off hours

      This is where I like Ivan's idea of combining the iron remover and clay towel treatment into one step (not all iron removers are meant for this but DIY's is). Not only does it remove separate rinsing stages and allow the iron remover to go further, but being able to use less product also means being able to use less water to wash off the product. I however have another technique: I do it during a light rainfall.

    24:00 The Bermuda Triangle thing seems to be mostly solved, though not conclusively. It turns out that it is a high traffic area, storms are common there, and it is far enough into most trips that people are hesitant to turn around or detour just due to superstition, so it makes sense for the rate of accidents there to be elevated. Hey guys, I was wondering if I should reclay my paint with the synthetic towel before ceramic coating? To provide some context I decon washed about a week ago and spent the next couple days polishing with the awesome diy system. After polishing it’s been about two days with my car just sitting there. Obviously it needs to be washed before but I’m wondering if you think I should Clay again to ensure proper adhesion of the coating, I also don’t want to undo any of the work I put into polishing so not sure if that would be too rough?

    Great video. Question. At the very end when you are drying. You said “now if this were doing a maintenance wash we would be adding quick beads or ceramic gloss”.
    I do understand that you would not use a drying towel yet if your next step was to spray on quick beads because you then need to spray off the Quick Beads. Then dry the car with the towels.
    But if you were going to use Ceramic Gloss. How do you go about that step. Obviously you don’t use the large drying towel to dry the car because you’re going to use the Ceramic Gloss. How do I go about using that product while the surface is wet? If you have a video showing what to do please share it.
    Do you use smaller towels and spray ceramic gloss on the surface and buff each section and your drying at same time your spreading the CG? If so how do we prevent the car from drying to fast since it will take longer to wipe the entire car down since we have to spray and buff a product into the surface as we are drying at same time (in comparison to just grabbing the big towel and going at it to dry the car like in this video). We do not have the same environment like an indoor shop like you have here. We have to do ours outside in driveway before we can pull the car into the garage. In your shop moisture sits on the surface longer while outside the hot summer air dries the paint pretty quick. Now we do use a DI system so as to eliminate the worry of minerals drying on the surface just so you will know.

    Can the surface of a vehicle be too hot for the synthetic perforated decontamination towel? For example, a black car in the sun on a 90-degree Fahrenheit day with no shade? If so, I assume, work in sections continuously cooling the surface with more rinseless or just wait till evening.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct, heat will degrade

      It’ll work , but put a canopy up for the paint and do one side at a time or work in the early morning or late evening , middle of day is the worst lol but always keep it lubricate is the most important part

    • @bluegrasskid4835
      @bluegrasskid4835 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @diydetailofficial Degrade it or actually melt it, and it sticks to the paint? Lol

      @@cormaro13 I would think canopies are mandatory for those home detailers in Phoenix/Las Vegas/etc. in the summer for the car and their own comfort and safety.

    What does the DIY Detail Iron remover have that makes it safe to apply the towel into the panel like that.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No solvents, and added surfactants that give more lubrication

      Check their list of distributors. A lot of times those sites will have stock when the DIY main site does not. Them having stock is probably a big reason why things sell out on the main website so quickly.
