Citroën C4 Dip Beam Bulb Remove and Replace

- Driveway Dude Will shows you how to replace a H7 12V 55W dip beam bulb on a 2007 Citroën C4.
This may also apply to other models.
This is a straight forward replacement and could easily be carried out by you.
Please wear rubber/latex/nitrile gloves when carrying this out to avoid skin contact with the glass bulb which will shorten the life of it.

After removing old bulb I forgot which way notch went and was taking ages! This instantly helped and 5mins later it was replaced. Cheers dude

Thanks for the video, just for anyone looking and still having trouble: On my car, there was no spot where it just sat nicely and might not need the retaining clip, it was always a bit loose and the retaining clip really helped align it.
So if you're having trouble, just stick it in roughly, and use the retaining clip to guide you (PS: only one leg of the retaining clip hooks in.)

thanks for the video...it helped a lot... i just want to add that the dude who designed this headlight and bulb fitment at citroen deserves a firm kick in the balls, for my bruised hand and scraped fingers
Very helpful video. I took me a while as I accidentally unplugged the high beams instead of the dipped lights and was very confused, but once I got to the right one it was very straight forward. Thanks man. PS If anyone is looking for a replacement, I recommend Halfords. It's the h7 477 and costs 10.70.

Ace video, I replaced my fist dip headlight bulb in my C4 last year, took me 45 mins as I kept dropping the dam retaining clip. Had forgotten how to do it, watched your video, job done in about 10 mins, yes it is tricky sometimes, but doable. Thanks from a fellow Celt in the Scottish Highlands.

Just did the same mistake. Tomorrow morning I have some clip work to do. By the way, the plastic bins on the headlight assembly seem to shatter quite easily.

Could not get the little retaining clip from the n/s lamp. This vid helped instantly.
Having short fingers, I found the clip a bit tricky, but a pair of long-nosed pliers help there.

You can buy them on eBay for certain. Retaining clips are sometimes universal and may fit many makes/models of cars and are often designed for the bulb (H1, H7, etc) rather than the actual car.
If you don't want to use eBay, try contacting a local auto recyclers who have a C4/C5 for parts, auto parts store or maybe even contact your local Citroën dealership/service centre.
Alternatively if you can remove the retaining clip from the other headlight, you can use it as template and make the new retaining clip from a paperclip as it is roughly the same gauge of metal.

I have a 2011 model. It’s almost the same. The clips! I had two hooks at the top.. push in to the centre and away from the bulb👍🏻

Hi, I have problem with my C4 2005 1.6hdi. Right dipped beam doesn't work, it stopped working month ago, I tried everything to fix, check all fuses (there is no fuse for right dipped beam like on newer version), but all fuses worked. After two days from that day, it start working again, I don't know why (I don't know what I did to fix problem). It worked until yesterday, and from today it stopped working again. Could you please tell me what to check (wires, ground, which connector), because it works somethimes, but as I already described, there is a problem, and I don't know where. Thanks!

I watched the video several times, tried multiple times doing the same, with no luck unfortunately. I just cannot place the new bulb back in, I cannot find this spot where it simply fits in... Orientation is the same with the metal pin pointing upwards, but there should be something else too to look out for. :(
Are you supposed to just pull the plug behind the bulb? Because I'm yanking at it and i can't get it off

I can be a finicky clip. Take a pic with you phone, look at it and it'll seem much easier then when you have it's orientation.
I need help, I have DS4 2017. I changed the old bulb with a new one. Everything as the video shows, but it doesnt turn ON. I checked the new bulb and is all good, there is something more I have to try in order to fix this? like something with a error scanner or something like that?
Try this - switch the auto headlight function (on the steering stalk/ multi function steering wheel) off and on and the system may reset.

@@damirbecirbasic yes! The new bulb was broken from the Citröen store. They send me a new one, problem solved.
try changing the two light bulbs, so check that it is the light bulb and not the electrical connection of the car
