I knew a guy in Austin Texas who put a flight bag in the left seat, flying with no doors and when the flight bag hit the tail rotor the aircraft hit the ground.
He auto'ed to the same skid marks he took off from! We do advanced autos every month at my work, the idea being land it in a parking space if need be...
why do they keep putting up these ridiculous auto rotation videos? if you're in a helicopter, over 100ft off the ground, you truly lose your engine (unlike all these videos where the pilots have total control of their aircraft,) the chances you have of walking away from the crash is under 1 percent. c'mon now guys, what are you trying to prove?
@@pddbuilders actually , the higher up you are the better it is. I’ve had two engine failures, one at 200 and one at 500 ; both in an R44. Landed both easily because the 44 is easy to auto
