I think they deliberately chose the worst 13 mpx sensor, as it is much worse in low light and even daylight with it's awful color accuracy. Probably to make it seem that the 'UltraPixel' is so much better than higher mpx cameras, which isn't true with the sensors of high-end phones like the Note 3, Z2, S5 and more which beat it.
I think the mini 2 is a great all rounder in the 4.5 inch size phones and I'm glad htc offers this size. Those that have problems with 5 inch phones can easily upgrade to this phone. Thank you for yet another great review Michael.

Alright I am trying to decide between the moto x 2014 version and the HTC one m8. The moto x is 500 dollars and the HTC one m8 is 600. Is the HTC worth the extra 100 in the long run or should I save the 100 and go with the moto x. Keep in mind that this will be my first smartphone. I like both of them but I wanted some other opinions. Also I am considering the HTC one mini 2 as a cheaper option to the one m8 Thanks
I'm glad that HTC didnt just let the mini fall way behind the m8, obviously there are going to be some minor differences with the two phones since the m8 is more capable. I have the mini and its a fantastic phone. I think the m8 would have been too big for my hand

i went into the phones for you store looking to grab the s4 black edition,then the staff member suggested the mini and i played around with it and OMG the phone is amazing.i'm more than convinced,going to grab that phone sometime this week or next week.never had a htc as well lol

The power button is what kills the mini for me. It's a great phone but only 1 way to unlock by pressing a button on top? Baaaad. And that's what you do with phones you take it out and unlock it. All the time.
Still bulky form factor... 4.5 inch screen with 137.4 x 65 x 10.6 mm. The Galaxy S4 has a 5 inch and has 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm. Really HTC? Slim it down!

Its not used for transferring data like old times, it is there as a universal remote, and once you get used to using it, its pretty convenient! :)

The A5 is beautiful but very expensive for its hardware. the M8 mini is worse.
I'd get the G3. The only thing that disappoints is the battery.
Seriously, just get the HTC M7 if you want a "smaller" HTC M8. Not only is the M7 cheaper, but it is overall a much better phone than the M8 mini.

With the exception of the camera, I'd still buy the One Mini 2. The camera is not a deal-breaker for me.

m8's photo's / vids = brighter colors and mid-tones also.
The camera difference in low light is staggering. Never seen such a difference in camera performance with a low res beating a high res.
This proves that more mega pixels isnt all that matters in a good picture.

I think the size of the One Mini 2 is perfect but HTC cut way too many corners for me to be satisfied with it.
