I teach at a secular university, and I have more students who identify themselves as believers this semester than in earlier semesters. I teach online and learn about their faith through their bios. They volunteer this info, and as I repsond to their bios, I let them know that I too am a Christian. I hope what is happening at Asbury extends to other universites, colleges, and public schools. I don't know if what is happening can be classified as a revival, but we need mighty moves of the Almighty in every school in this nation!
You are so right. If this is truly of God, it will grow and lives will be changed. I pray fervently that this goes forward into chapels at campuses across this land and churches in this country and beyond. God Bless Asbury.
Our former very grounded pastor is currently attending Asbury. I messaged him and asked his thoughts on what is happening there. This was his reply, which speaks to one of the concerns you mentioned. "Yes, it’s a beautiful wonderful work of God. PTL that so many people are coming to tiny Wilmore from all over, but please pray it continues to be a pure work of God as the devil always sews thorns among the Lord’s wheat."
Do not be afraid of being in the company of worshipers which is what this is. It is refreshing and encouraging. The devil will sow tares anywhere so why not be where the prayers and the worship is string. People are more afraid of letting the devil get ahold of them that they refuse God when He reaches out a hand
@@novaplex4760 Look at past revivals. Why did they end? Why did leaders avoid watchmen's warnings? There is no fear in warning and blood is on your hands if you do not warn.
My son traveled there from Bethel in Indiana. He is not an emotional person but said it was the greatest move of God in his life that he has ever experienced. And God was working in his heart days before he went there. I believe a great move of the Spirit is happening all over right now- not just at Asbury.
How is Revial happening all over? If that were true then the amendments being passed in some states would not be happening. Late-term abortions are now accepted as normal. The fruit has to be seen. So far good fruit is coming from these Asbury meetings.
Did God do something with that Damar Hamlin thing? So many people who were not religious were voicing prayers. You could tell because they typed 'Prayers to Damar'.
I live 15 minutes away from Asbury so I went to see for myself (this was within the first few days when it all began). I stood in line with believers who came to observe while others came to worship. But I also stood in line with complete non-believers and got to witness their eyes fill with tears during our time in the chapel & some gave their life to the Lord. That was just my hour of being there. Call it whatever you like but the fact that people are willing to stand for hours in line to seek God, worship & pray is already a huge deal for America. This may not be revival yet but it's definitely an awakening and I'm here for it if souls are getting saved & God is getting praised! And the statement Alisa made about being able to experience this in your home & church: yes and no. You can obviously experience God anywhere at anytime. However, there are moments when God moves on a larger scale - where He ignites many people at once. There is something unique & special about it & I wouldn't want to miss it.
Definitely agree! From experience, when a group revival is happening, it is much easier to get caught up in the presence and holiness of God. I've also experienced a powerful move of God on my own, and in a classroom with no music or hype. Seek God wherever you are and make this revival a reality in your faith community as well!
Please understand that when you came to Asbury, it was Sunday morning, when everyone was encouraged to attend their own churches. The afternoon and evening on Sunday overflowed the auditorium, into the grass and across the street to Asbury Theological Seminary. I understand your words of cautious and agree. However, please don't negate what is happening because of 20 minutes you observed. I was there for 5 hours on Saturday night. The Spirit is moving and that cannot be denied. Lives are being changed, healing is occurring with the goal to impact eternity long after the revival ends. The last revival on Asbury campus was 1970. The rippled effects are still having a lasting impact.
This is always the case on campus. The chapel services are never considered a substitute for being part of one of the local churches. I also know a lot of the students are exhausted physically from all of the time they spent there and they’re trying to get some rest, and actually eat something
You don't need to hold brief for God dear Sister. He is not influenced by our opinions. Jesus Christ said in Mathew 5:6, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled." The Holy Spirit knows those visiting Asbury University with biases in their minds. Such people may not encounter Him there. Those who are hungry for His presence will be filled according to God's promises.
@@pearladams4817 But yet the Word of God teaches us to test the spirits...to see if they are of God!Just because someone says there is revival going on and God is moving.... doesn't mean you take their word for it!If this is truly a move of God...no one will be able to gainsay or resist it!
It really is sad that you missed out. I was very skeptical and wanted to go see for myself. I go to school at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and went with some friends, and I must say that I havent seen church like this in a very long time. People were praying for one another, we sang praise to Jesus for hours, a man preached on Nehemiah 9:25, Testimonies of salvation and deliverance from sin were given, and nearly every heart was poured out To Jesus. This was not an "emotional high" but rather truly deep spiritual affections for our Savior, As Jonathan Edwards put it. Please pray that none of us are "found opposing God" for the sake of playing devils advocate. I pray all our faith is restored to childlike faith again, and that God continues to work at Asbury, to protect it from human devices and the enemy, and spreads this nationwide.
When people are drawn by the holy spirit it is truly a move of the or Lord. May it go on all ovr the world. T is such a powerful move with repentance and love

NICK , it's good you experienced the living Holy Spirit. Most of those seminaries that we Refer to as CEMETERIES because they lack the Holy Spirit. Many come out with dead intellectual knowledge of God.
I watched this video from Japan. This text was written using deeple translation. I could understand only 50% of the English, so at first I was just watching asbury youtube, but halfway through I suddenly started to cry. They were tears of emotion that came from within. I felt the strong presence of God. Then I gave thanks to God on the land of Japan. I think revival happens from within a person. Is it a coincidence that my heart was given the desire to be closer to God? That's what I thought.

@@hulkinbrent6376 True repentance begins in Godly sorrow, anguish ! I’ve been there & at times still there over the FATHER showing me more of me! Revival isn’t a feeling it’s a change of heart & direction ❤️
EVERY revival seems to be kindled with repentance. But it is a supernatural wave that first sweeps over people to bring them to repentance. There remains a mystery about the root cause. If we had it 100% figured out, we would have sold millions of manuals, and every city would be experiencing one.
I was there at the same time you were. The students weren’t there because they went in teams to churches in the area. If asked they gave testimonies if not they just worshipped. I graduated from Asbury and know several people in leadership. They have a Discernment Team praying for guidance on when or if to end it. They see themselves as shepherding those who are there. They are very intentional to be supportive, but to get out of the way of the Holy Spirit. The gospel is being preached. People are repenting. We are seeing fruits in souls being saved. They have been very intentional in being humble, not encouraging hype. I was there Saturday when there were people standing because there was not enough room. The praise and worship was simple, no glitz and glamour. There is a spirit of repentance. I believe we are going to see fruit as we have in other revivals. I was there in 1992 when there was a four day revival. There was no social media then so it was just students. I don’t know exactly when I was called to the mission field. I don’t know it was That revival or at a regular chapel, but I am a product of Asbury’s Openness to the moving of the Holy Spirit. My husband and I served in Kenya along with our children. Now our mission field is in Ohio and it is through our veterinary business. We are all called to be missionaries and spread the gospel. I can’t wait to see the souls that are saved as a result of this. Students are now referring to it as an encounter with God and not calling it revival.
So good to hear. I've been through revival and sense the sweetness and purity of this one, even online. Been praying for the leadership and impressed by how simple the worship is. So good to hear they are listening and leading well. What a great track record at this place - a century of revivals! Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
@@J_a_s_o_n It is very interesting to see what is going on at Asbury -- especially since I am a graduate. I graduated when it was still the COLLEGE before it became a UNIVERSITY in 2009. 2/15/23
I’m a graduate from Asbury College. When I attended, we heard a lot about the revival in 1970 and really wanted it to happen. I got the sense that this sort of thing could not be forced, because faculty would have frowned on it. It would have been unacceptable for us to miss class over anything like this. So for this to be happening, it has to be an organic, natural move of the Holy Spirit. I watched an interview with CBN and the editor of the Asbury Collegian. She said there was a sense of love, unity, and healing in relationships that hadn’t been there before. My stoic husband went there yesterday and was deeply touched.

I live in Indonesia and just found out about Asbury and what so called this term of Revival. Tbh the first video I watched with a song being sing by the people in the chapel has somehow moved me and broken my tears. It is mainly because I knew pretty well about how bad the situations in US right now. The woke ideology, satanic cult shows spreading via main stream media, abortion, transgender etc, that I'm pretty sure will be affecting other people in other countries. So all of those things suddenly came to my mind and struck me that Jesus is now working through this event in US to revive especially young people in there. I have finished to pray for this event with my family for Jesus to guide you guys there and for the continuity of this event as long as God's want to bring the whole nation to find Jesus. Soli Deo Gloria!
You are precious! America desperately needs everyone's prayers. It's unbelievable how evil is prevailing here like I've never witnessed in my 58 years! The Lord is the only one we can trust!
@@code-52 dear one, just because you’re an atheist do not discount your ability to experience the move of God. Since it’s so close. Maybe you could go on Behalf of all of who can’t. And just be a witness for all of us. May God bless you!!!❤
@Awaken To Life why am I a Pharisee? The bible says many false prophets and teachers exist and deceive people. I never said this wasn't legit and neither is the speaker. But everything should be questioned. Everything I'm saying is in Scripture. There is mass deception in the end times. That is not being a Pharisee y to say that. I don't base any decisions on how I feel. Even pagan ritual people feel good so that's why I question everything even what my pastor says.
I was there the 13th and 15th. I see and hear about fruit already. I, like you, arrived very early Monday with not much going on. I even said to my husband. "This is no big deal. I can experience this at any church." I was wrong! We stayed and it got crowded and intense. I felt a very real hunger for MORE of God there. I have been born again for 24 years. Over those years I have seen church services turn into dead dry shows. If there is praise and what I call huffy preaching, most of it seems like an act. It's almost as if they are putting on a show. This thing at Asbury is different. I've never experienced anything quite like it, and I come from an apostolic/pentecostal background. I appreciate the mature way in which you voice your concerns, but it is my understanding that revival is bringing something dead back to life. I think that this can qualify as that. The faith of my husband and I have increased since we were there! Fruit is being seen already and I highly recommend that anyone who can get there, GO!
Thank you for sharing. I too feel like there is a difference when you just have 30 people in a room sitting down, then when you have the room FILLED with hungry people worshipping God in Unity!! That’s when the Holy Spirit moves and more tangibly. 🔥🙌
Beautiful. Thank you for this share. It's wonderful news and so very needed especially in these days. It is possible he's coming soon. So many signs and this is one of them. God bless all who attend and all who hear the good news.
I am thankful that The Wise men didn’t stay home but decided to follow the star. I’ve read throughout the Bible that the people journeyed to be in the presence of Jesus. If the Holy Spirt puts it on your heart to go to Asbury, then do so. I’m thankful that social media is available to share with the world what’s happen in Asbury.
You are 100% right The only one we should obey is GOD this lady may have good intentions but she is out of line. Church pastors and their leaders with their rules don't allowed GOD to move like he is doing it in this church. Wen i was in the worship band even know the service was over we would keep worship GOD aftern an hour or so the pastor would tell us to stop who are they to do that church should start and let it finish wen GOD said so and church leaders should be in love with GOD and prepare to continue as longest GOD decides or step down and let someone who truly love GOD do it but they only play church and do their sunday time like leaders of the law. One day I will be a pastor and there won't be a time to finish nor script to follow we will let the Holy Spirit guide us with the word of GOD and in the service will last as longest GOD decides for his glory and for the souls to be safe. Not government no stinking virus will close GOD'S church they will have to kill me before i let anyone tell us how to worship GOD nor we will obey stinking virus guidelines we are the church of the living GOD and we must obey him only. The apostles would hade never close the churches nor obeyed covid guidelines instead they would had speak against the evil guidelines church leaders ollowed to enter in to GODS house. Sad thing is that church leaders don't even know the evil sin they committed i pray GOD open their eyes and repent. Trust the science they said and that's what Christians did instead of trusting GOD 🤦♂️🤷🏻♂️. If science is GOD obey it, if JESUS is GOD obey him
And we can pray for God to reach many through this and to protect us from evil. I would rather my kids experience this than some of what is coming out of schools today.

Good thoughts from Alisa. I’m not compelled to define what’s happening at Asbury but I am MORE than thrilled that a bunch of 18-21 year olds have been worshipping, praying, testifying to the work of God in their lives for 200+ straight hours. Of course we all pray their would be lasting fruit of His kingdom from this experience. “Lasting fruit” is probably a good hope for all of us.
@@thetruthchannel349 I’m not trying to be cute when I say this but I recall the most religious folks on the planet -those who knew the scriptures better than anyone - surely were EXTREMELY concerned about a carpenter from Nazareth that did not fit at all with their picture of what the “coming king” should look like and how he should act. For what it’s worth, I’ve spoken with quite a few mature, discerning believers that I personally know and trust who have actually been there (unlike most of the critics and those who are defining for us what “revival” is and isn’t). Brothers and sisters, Please pray for me. For more then 10 years I have been struggling with a debilitating sickness that's made my life unberable. I am in my early 30s so I'd like to still have some years of service to God and people if it is His will. Jesus is my Healer. Thank you all🙏🏻
I read you're post. In 1st Corinthians chapter 12 there are 9 gifts of The Holy Spirit. One is Healing. Seek out a Brother or Sister with that gift who has a healing ministry. Or if I were you I'd travel to Revelation church to see Prophet Lovy Elias. Lovy is a tried and true Prophet and can tell you if the sickness is of demonic origin or not either way The Lord will heal you. If you don't believe he's a Prophet or that healers in Christ Jesus don't exist then that's unbelief. But I think you DO believe and I say to you go and let God heal you.
Yeah, its good if you know someone, or at your church someone has the gift of healing. But, God can heal you without someone putting his hands on you. For motivation read the story of the woman with an issue of blood, Luke 8:43-48. I pray God heals you. God bless you
@@jackiemcintosh7162 It's unfair to categorically state that God will heal someone when you don't have all the information. You may be holding out false hope. Lovy Elias may or may not be a genuine prophet, however, that doesn't mean he can accurately tell someone God's mind and will on everything.
Pray for these young people! They're doing more than most of us older folks. Pray, and trust that God will sort it all out. ♥️ It sure has put a fire in the churches in the Pacific Northwest!
I too was skeptical. I didn't want to jump on the revival train just because it was being called a revival. I saw some videos today and my spirit just flipped. Faith is not a feeling I do know that, however, tears flowed like a river. I'm not one to just let my emotions take hold of me. I'm from the bible belt, born and raised bapticostal and trust me when I tell you I have seen it all! People walking on the backs of pews, running, screaming, convulsions, speaking in unknown tongues. I've seen it all. The problem I find after coming to the knowledge of the truth is those things do not sit well within my spirit and I will not be a part of it any more. I am by no means quenching the spirit. I'm just not absolutely 100 percent positive that these things are genuine therefore I can't yoke up with them. When I see the videos of Asbury, it is such a sweet spirit. A humble sovereign atmosphere. I don't see wildfire. Decency and order is what I have seen. Again I'm only going off what I've seen from the videos. Some of us live 10 hours away and can't hop in the car and be there. But from what I have seen and heard and being led by the spirit, yes I do believe He is pouring His spirit out and I believe this is the beginning of a nation wide if not a world wide revival. Real revival. True revival. The devil is after a whole generation and I don't believe God is just going to sit back and let him have our youth.
Why do you believe this means God is starting a world wide revival with this particular event? Sounds like you are projecting what you want to see on God.
I would have preferred if reporter just didn't spend a short time in morning but go back in the evening and spend some significant time then prior to making an opionion and the video. It would be good for those who can to go and experience for themselves. Christians have discernment. No matter how the Holy Spirit moves there will be decenters, there were for all previous revivals. Time will tell if this is a true move of God. If so I wouldn't want to miss out on what God is doing.
Obviously faith is a feeling or why else would the disiples ask for more faith? Obviously praising God is faith based. If somebody is walking in joy and love and peace, you’re gonna feel something…
I am also from both a Pentecostal and Charismatic background and have seen it all. Yes much that I had a problem with and some that was real. This movement at Asbury is centered in repentance and humility trying to give all of the glory to God. I have been praying for years that the Lord would send a revival of repentance and true holiness in our land. This movement in its infancy seems to be marked by humility, repentance and giving God the glory and not man, which I love the leadership's emphasis to keep everything on the railway tracts of focus on Jesus and His word.
I had much the same experience. I was not as skeptical, but was surprised to find myself experiencing a deep and rapid recognition that the Holy Spirit is rocking this house.
I was there at the same time you were there. What I saw when I was there were hungry believers from all over the country coming together to worship the LORD. It was beautiful witnessing the Christian unity! Caution and discernment should never be discarded, however, what I saw caused me to hunger even more for the presence of God and to live a life of worship. Yes You can experience this anywhere you can pray, but the beauty at Asbury was worth the drive to me, and I'd do it again. In today's Christian culture, everyone is hypersensitive, and for very good solid reasons! We should always stay alert and guard our hearts. Stay in the Word and study it as your life depends on it because it does! I do believe she is a wise person and she spoke cautiously out of love and this is why I will continue to watch her videos.
If this is true and genuine.. which appears so.. then yes just the unity in the spirit and the fellowship as we are living in such difficult times is enough for folks to travel to it. That alone is enough to change lives and reignite flames that have been put under a basket or the world has tried to blow out.
My daughter wrote in her FB post: "To call that “revival” might be accurate and it might not- time will tell. But it doesn’t make what is happening any more or less real especially to those students who first responded. I like what a friend of mine called it today; a reminder. A reminder that God is present with us and loves us. That when these students desired to know His grace in a fresh way, He showed up. "I was able to join briefly today. I am going to Asbury today- I am about an hour and a half away, yes, I know I have the bible and the Holy Spirit within me, I am not looking to "get" anything from this experience but being in unity with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Whether this is a revival or not, the fact is that people are traveling from everywhere to be there and thats OK, there isn't anything wrong with people doing this. God is not just pure intellect but also emotion AND experience, there is nothing wrong with experiencing God in a very Real way. I am editing this here to say that I almost didn't make the trip because based on this video it almost seemed like maybe people were overstating the experience but I truly felt the urging of the Holy Spirit to go and so I did. That is the only reason for my previous comment because that is how it affected me.
I don't think she is telling anyone not to go or quenching the Spirit...simply giving her thoughts in a very gentle and loving way. Whether it is a true revival or not, I am very inspired just at the fact that God's name is being spread across our nation and He is receiving all glory!
I think you missed her point. Her point is that if you can’t go, you still have the Holy Spirit and dwelling you and you have God’s word! So don’t feel the pressure to go. Not that you shouldn’t go.
Let's not let the media attention taint their experience. This appears to be a beautiful and grassroots movement. If people feel compelled to go experience it for themselves, I don't think that curiosity is a bad thing. God Bless. 😇
The verse that keeps coming to me amidst all this talk is Phil 1:18: "What does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice." So I am rejoicing!
Even false prophets wouod preach Christ out of false motives. Yes Christ is preached, however motives can manipulate people into doing the wrong things in Christ. Kenneth Copeland and the like preaxh Christ, but it's all in the name of money and self gratification. The Bible says HIS people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. God's people can and will be in a Christ preaching church, but what's the motive behind the why. PEOPLE can have forced emotionalismand god will be glorified but that person isn't doing it to grow in God, but rather because he's told that's what they do. If you're worshipping God from a sincere heart and that's personal growth. There is a difference between forced emotionalism vs an authenticity of expression towards God, God may be getting glory for both, but if it's forced emotionalism it's under false pretenses and makes others think true authentic worship is fake. Which will detere others from God believing it's all a showcase rather than inward expression. Christ is glorified either way, but people will assume because one or 2 people have display forced emotionalism that the entire church is just a showcase instead of a true authentic move of God
The '1904-1905 Welsh Revival' was practically nothing but singing! And even after the revival passed, 80% of them held onto their faith in Jesus. It was all very well documented.
I must disagree? A false Holy Spirit has been in many charismatic churches and what happens is the people receive a demonic spirit? Try reading the Bible with a prosperity gospel believer? They are blind all they know is what they they have been taught not all the word but a verse or two to tickle there ears? No Holy Spirit at all
Revivals are happening all around the world. I agree with Alisa, the Lord can move in a powerful way no matter where you are. The Lord delivered me from depression in my house praying, from decades of living out of a bottle of pills, instantly till today 8 months later, Ive been free!! If your devoting time to praise Him and serve Him, He will move in a powerful way. I truly say, keep up the awesome devoted time for the Lord, for His presence is amazing no matter where you are!! Glory to God and the most High, Jesus is coming soon!! Lets get used to revival, “where sin increased, grace abounded all the more” Romans 5;20
Glory to God brother Kent i believe it, I also believe that the Lord is moving in a powerful way across the globe, for His time of His second coming draws near. May we all have our lamps full of oil. Blessings
The Big Test is coming. All these things must happen. We saw parts of it in 2011. Resistance will be a main factor in this outcome. It's up to you, not the Lord's. Oil up. Some tremendous events will change society an we will go through it before Jesus sounds the Trumpet 🎺
Our hearts are filled with joy and praise. God bless all those in this wonderful revival. My son Sam Raiborde is post graduate from Asbury, he is wonderful man of God, humble and committed. Serving ministry in Methodist Church in India.
Well I went tonight 2-13-23 and thought it was amazing. The spirit is so sweet! I drove down from Central Michigan and I am so glad I did! It is such a beautiful experience.
@@weedeeohguy experience is not a red flag. We aren't just minds, and we shouldn't know God with our mind alone. It should be a whole self knowledge, including experience. Ephesians 3:19, the Greek for "know" is the same word used for when a husband and wife have intercourse. That's definitely experiential knowledge. There's a reason Paul differentiates between understanding (v18) AND knowing. Mind and heart. Intellect and experience.
Alisa, let's just simply, as you said, pray into this...let's intercede on behalf of this younger generation that they truly experience God moving in their midst, that there is true brokenness repentance and transformation... You are right, each one of us has the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. We don't necessarily have to travel somewhere to experience or see revival in our lives... God wants to bring revival across this nation and around the world. But he will do that by sincere pockets of people who are truly seeking him...
Don't think God mind what people call it. He just love that people gather in His name so that He can come and touch them! And that is what we all need in these days, a new touch of fire in our souls!
Thank you. From someone who has been “burned” by church leadership. I appreciate your wise counsel and honesty. After hearing your comments, I was able to just take a breath and relax. Because I was getting anxious about the hype. You always stand on truth. Again, thank you❤
I came to Jesus during the Jesus during Jesus Movement during the early 70s and I have experienced several genuine moves of God since then. There was some emotionalizim in all of them because we are all humans with emotions. But even so my experience has been the deep things God does in people's hearts remains and lives are changed. I'm not concerned because God is aware of all this and He continues to move in people's lives even after everything cools down. Sometimes it is best to not analyze so much. I know it is hard for me to receive all God is doing when I think too much. God bless.
"You can’t lay down any pattern for God. There are many different ways of bringing people into his Kingdom, even some ways that I specially dislike! I have therefore learned to be cautious in my judgment." - C.S. Lewis
Let's just be careful and have a spirit of discernment. If this is a true revival then there would be opposition. It would not be broadcast in the media. Persecution is missing here. Another thing, there would be testimonies. Those who live godly will suffer persecution. Why is it being broadcast like that?
@@justinmckenzie4276 There doesn't have to be persecution. Revivals don't always have that. However there has been more naysaying and slandering from "Christians"
Not everyone will ‘experience’ the same sense of God’s presence. The Lord meets the needs of hearts that are hungry for Him and ready to receive Him. The Lord knows His own and He can keep His own. He also knows how to deal with imposters.
Watched the live stream, the service was genuine and humble. My heart was touched, could not stop my tears when listening to all the voices singing God's praises ❤❤
I wonder will it lead Christians to be more like Jesus...ya know...accepting of all, calling the misfits of society friends without having an agenda to save them, letting the last be first, hating violence...because this is all worthless and meaningless without love. Or will it serve to increase the numbers of people who subscribe to some of the most bigoted, hate filled and exclusive ideologies that aren't found within a billion mile radius of Jesus. We shall see...
I loved this. We need, we must, Pray for DISCERNMENT. The last days are going to get dark and without discernment from The Holy Spirit we don’t have much
I heard Dr. Michael Brown's take on what is happening at Asbury. It was very good. One of the things he said was that every true revival gets criticism, and that he would question whether or not it was real if it didn't. Whatever it is, it's wonderful! I see hungry people not willing to leave even into the middle of the night. That kind of hunger may be what God is looking for.
I love the revival and it's not only a task very it's now gone on to Cedar Hill in Cedar Hill University in Cedar Hill Texas they're also doing that now too and it is spreading across the United States thank God we need this so I agree with dr. Brown on that note however I don't like dr. Brown that's a whole nother conversation dr. Brown is a heretic and again that's another conversation for very good reasons that I don't like him check out Justin Peters ministries on dr. Brown and other false teachers
"Encountering the Word of God is GOING to lead to repentance and the good fruit of standing FAST on God's unchanging Truth." Thank you Alisa.....such good grounded wisdom.
I’m a current Methodist and in these days of division in the United Methodist through disaffiliation I find comfort in knowing this mass gathering of Worship shows there is still love in my Church. And in the end God is in control!!!
God is always in control! Also I don’t know what is going on in the Methodist denomination, but from what I hear the teaching of the Gospel is nonexistent and too much of a focus on other world views.
I hate to break it to ya buddy, but these revivals are interlinked with a push for Christian Nationalism in the US. They may appear to be fuzzy, warm and unifying, but there is a very dark undertow beneath it all that is pressing forward that doesn't even come close to resembling the inclusive and universal message of Jesus. I don't expect you to pay a whole lot of heed to this comment but do keep it in the back of your mind. Maybe even jot it down on a note pad and leave it for a few years. Christian Nationalism and Domionism will attempt to absolutely destroy the US and the lives of those who do not subscribe to Christianity. These revivals are not happening by accident and they are absolutely not anything Spiritual. It is incredibly easy to whip up human hysteria. It happens every single day inside and outside the church.
@@VelcroKittie well glad your not god. Small g just for you. 🤣🤫 Who knows what God is doing but all I do know is that your not in control and literally thank God for that! You have a problem with the way God is controlling His church, then take it up with Him. If He wants to change it, I am sure He will.
Is the full gospel presented to nonbelievers for salvation or just a watered down version? And how can one denomination be so opposing as to allow sexual immorality to be considered acceptable?
Because throughout history, many people have been sincerely wrong in misplaced zeal for what they believe God wants. Just consider Saul before he became the Apostle Paul. However, it seems as though Asbury is guarding against the intrusion of those that would wrongfully co-opt this revival.
I agree with you. Let God work! Christian’s should stop being skeptical! God can do anything! I see kids on their knees! This is what we’ve all been praying for!
@@kathif1159 God CAN do anything but you should absolutely be skeptical. The Bible says in 1 John 4:1, "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." Revival can absolutely be hijacked by bad actors with bad intentions. It's not doubting God, it's doubting people's intentions!
I love what I saw. What I’ve noticed is that over the last two days I’ve really had a strong prompting in my spirit. I’ve been worshiping in my home before I even saw this revival if it’s that. Needless to say I was going to bed tonight praying and thinking WOW it feels so great to be a part of the body of Christ. I believe that this body is in worship. All over! If your a Christian and seeing this with your own eyes hasn’t stirred something in your spirit then idk what to say. But God is god all the time, he is omnipresent and perfect. We can’t fathom what he has done from beginning to end. God knows what he’s doing. Even with a social media presence.
This. "You don't have to go somewhere to get something." Thank you for sharing this, Alisa. I really do believe that we as North Americans need to get down on our knees and pray. I'm guilty of not but if I really, truly want revival, then I should be praying.
I think it would of been good for you to stay longer than just a Sunday morning. I am glad I made the drive here. To hear their testimonies of renewal. Hearts experiencing a renewal in worship, prayer., a love for Jesus. Also for freedom from darkness, suicidal thots and addictions. It is with such joy to be here and see God moving! Also for my heart, sure I could have stayed home but it has been good just like in the book of Acts to witness Jesus being exalted
@soaringpraise Can you tell me whether the Bible is being read aloud at the meetings? Are the people there spending most of their worship time in singing songs? I am wondering how much the Word of God is being read and preached?
@@hanab837 come and see for yourself 😊 people being set free to love Jesus! This is what the word says Luke 10:27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Right. She goes for a few minutes then does a video on revival as if she's an authority. Then tells people not to go... If people want to go let them do what they're led to do.
I suspect everything is tied to the human experience... however the experience should not be the driving force. We have it backward many times. For those outside the Church or in error within the Church the "experience" is driven by something other then the Word of God and the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but it seems very silly to say that truth has to be experienced. That's like saying that you can't know truth through faith. The Bible is full of truth. I read it and believe it. Most of it, I haven't experienced, and a lot of it, no one has yet, because it will happen in the future. That doesn't make it less true. If anything, that's the point of faith. I believe things that I haven't directly experienced because I have faith in the truth of the revelation of God.
As a former Protestant that attended Pentecostal churches for about half of my life, i know from experience that learning about biblical Christianity isn't something that a person experiences. The truth begins to transform a person's life after they become aware of it, accept it, and then put it into practice. These kinds of shows prove just how dangerous and deceptive Protestantism can be. It's only about making ppl feel good.
Exactly my thoughts. You want revival? Be in God's word every day. Pray and worship Him. Serve your family and neighbors. Pray for your pastor and help him and his wife. Normal Christian life is quietly glorious.
This made me tear up. I am just coming across your content, but to say I’ve been spiritually abused by revivalism is putting things very lightly. I’ve never heard anyone say what you’re saying but it one of the most comforting things I’ve ever heard. Just. Thank you.
I hear you. And I hope people like you and I and others who have been manipulated will be healed of cynicism-that tends to close a door in self protection-to what God is doing. I want to be wise and discerning and also open to the Holy Spirit. I’ve struggled with cynicism. God is healer. Jesus understands. Religious people who had no need for God hurt Him too. Blessings from a fellow “traveler.” Better is coming.
We must also be aware of the enemy tactics including in entertainment and media being used as spiritual and psychological attack on everyone, it’s totally diabolical the writers and producers know what they’re doing. My latest vid (Kingdom of AC) shows what they say about subverting Christian culture, it’s disgusting.
Just because your evil buddy don't mean I am I actually believe that God can move at anytime and anywhere he don't need people or preacher's to tell him where he can movie like all yall negative people are tying to do I feel bad for you that you are blind to it
I have recently learned this, and so I will share. Do not be quick to judge a person to be evil. God is the judge, and He is the one who will repay. Whatever is in a person’s heart is between them and God. “ And fear not them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him that is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Pray for humans, even those who vex you. The demons are God’s enemies, not we fragile sheep.
"They sold their property and possessions and gave to anyone who had need." Acts 2:45 Here is that "revival" at the Methodist, Wesleyan Asbury Unversity. This is pure cult behavior spurred on by busloads of pilgrims hoping to get healed, see Jesus or watch a magic show. All the chanting, repetitive singing, peace and love are exposed as phony when examined. Here is an attempt to duplicate Woodstock not Pentecost. It's reminiscent of the prophets of Baal dancing about, singing, praying and begging for the supernatural. Young, gyrating woman in tights are really putting on a show. Only Jesus could damper the testosterone that must be surging through the young bulls. Elijah mocked them and so should you. "At noon Elijah began to taunt them. 'Shout louder!'" 1 Kings 18:27. The proof of revival is they sold what they had and gave to those who had need, Acts 2:45, which includes paying off each other's debts. "Jesus told him, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.'" Matt 19:21. This counterfeit revival is spurred on by even the media as copy cat revivals chime in hoping to gain some notoriety. "Then Elijah said to them, 'I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left.'" 1 Kings 18:22. It seems I am the only one with the courage to expose this charade and that pagan cross they've erected in the shape of a cross. I am but one crying in the wilderness.
@@icthyology agreed, also do not judge Gods servants. I don’t see how worshipping God day and night in fellowship Could be interpreted as bad, but whatever. Some people don’t believe in the spiritual. Worship God in Spirit & in Truth. Romans 4:14 Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
Agreed. And, quite honestly -- relieved to hear it said so beautifully. Let us pray for the Spirit of God to grant discernment and that this will not become another Brownsville or Pensacola.
Way to stay grounded in Him, Alisa. Thank you for bringing some real to this situation. I pray that churches and hearts across the country experience real revival in these last times, right where they are.
Brothers and sisters, I just had the opportunity to watch the initial chapel service, on TH-cam, that was where the Asbury event started. I will paste the link below after this note. I will tell you that it was Biblical, and was even a continuation of a chapter by chapter series through the book of Romans. And it convicted me almost to tears despite my more advanced age. The main subject? God's love. Our living out God's love. Loving our enemies. And healing from abuse. And producing fruit. I think that what started may have begun out of true conviction and repentance - and out of realizing God's healing of abuses. Just witnessing that initial sermon.
Revivals begin with messages of God's holiness and man's sinfulness. They begin with repentance because we see our evilness and hopelessness apart from God. I saw the sermon myself and did not find it compelling. For a sermon that would cause such a revival check out Voddie Baucham. These are the types of sermons that would form the basis for revival.
@@kimberlywiederhold627 God did what He did, at Ashbury; despite your definition, of what revival is, or is not. Are you a lawyer, trying to pick apart the word revival? John 4:23-24 KJV The Holy Spirit Testifies, that at Ashbury, those who worshipped, worshipped in Spirit, and in Truth... They weren't playing mortal combat on their cell phones etc.
Agreed. I heard in that service repentance preached without the word being used. Just clear descriptions of the love of Christ and His call to follow it, asking the question have we lived up to this standard, and how we can't without Christ. That IS a revival message. Agreed!
Thanks for addressing this Alisa. I didn’t even know there was a new revival going on until this morning. I really think we need to wait and see how this goes. I was in Lakeland FL during the Spring and Summer of 2008, the caution you are advising is very wise.
Amen test the spirit and watch for fruit. Don’t want more false converts. That’s what we are witnessing in the deconstruction movement. So many that are leaving church that think they were saved because they grew up in church, prayed a prayer or walked an isle and are now telling everyone they left the Faith. It’s impossible to leave Christ if you are sealed with the Spirit. Jude 24 🙏✝️ Thank you for your measured response.
I have listened to Mrs Childres’ message here through twice. Aren’t you doing what you said in your video shouldn’t be done and that was “ jumping on the social media bandwagon and responding on one side or the other?” And then you mentioned “maybe we just leave these students alone?” ( I’m sure my quotes are not exact) kinda wish you had done the later. From the research I’ve read about , Asbury, it has a long history of sound theology and a long history of Moves of God or Revivals which have all been preceded by many sacrificial hours of prayer before hand. One of the Retired professors, who is 94 has been here and he was at the 1970 Revival and one other, he thanked God for the privilege of being alive for a 3rd move of God at Asbury. How wonderful! There is sound leadership there within the faculty. I have actually been following this daily online since it began. I’ve been worshipping , praying with them , for them for myself, my family, my church, wherever this Revival was to be heard that hearts would be changed for Christ Jesus. I believe that is the awesome benefit of social media today. Even Billy Graham back in the day utilized every marketing measure available to get the gospel message to the masses, so should we.If I am joining and praying and following the Scriptures along with the Revival, I must trust God in the fruit it bears. The Word does say, in the last days He will pour out His Spirit on all Flesh, why not now at Asbury? Your example of if all the Bible’s were confiscated and some wicked force takes all the Bible’s away and then someone had an actual Bible and began reading it, for 24 hours etc…The story doesn’t follow through well, because if that were to happen, No One would be able to make to the Bible Reading “Revival” because the Ones confiscating the Bible’s would be all over it and shut it down before it even began, and that’s not the true definition of what revival could be and I’ll leave that Biblical research for each person reading my long thought processes to do for themselves. I for one ,am not gonna be the wet blanket for the passionate seeking of God that is happening at Asbury. Nor am I going to discourage someone from going where that Passionate seeking is occurring, even if it means they’re driving hours to get there. The Woman with the issue of blood was desperate for Jesus and she Went after Him , she went after Him in a massive crowd of people until she touched Him. Yes, we can meet with God at home or in our local church and press into His presence, but there are times when others have paved the way through their sacrifice of praise and prayers and fasting for others to come and meet with God at a location. Lastly,it is So very sad to me that you ended your video saying, “ do not to be distracted by shiny objects”, to insult our Brothers and Sisters in Christ in such a demeaning way. What a judgment on their hearts and this Move of God. I for one am GRATEFUL TO GOD for His Move at the Asbury Revival. Thank you.
We need times of refreshing and renewing....God sends them. We may never see the fruit ourselves but I suspect many are being touched by the sweet presence of the Lord. I experienced things like this in the 70's as a young believer during the Jesus movement and those "high" moments helped solidify my relationship with Jesus. I know we walk by faith and I've done that for 60 years but how thankful I am for the special moments of feeling His presence. I think it's great! May many hearts be touched as our days are numbered. Jesus is coming soon!
This guy "Jesus" was a myth - he is not coming soon! First written about - about 300-years after he was supposed to be on earth. All these stories about what he actually said are heresy, handed down by word of mouth over 10-generations(!) And the unknown authors who wrote these stories about him were undoubtedly exaggerating to sell their book! How likely do you think these stories are true, and this is actually what this guy "Jesus" said? Very very very unlikely eh? Telling people there is an afterlife is immoral. You don't know that there is life after death! The Bible is full of untruths. Christians only cherry pick the good stuff from all the nonsense in the Bible
My parents got saved during the Jesus Movement, when I was only 5. Our lives changed for eternity. I praise God for these times of Sovereign outpouring.
@@tanyabaker4809 How do you know it was "Jesus" or "God" that changed their lives? In reality they did it all by themselves. Why won't you give them credit for that. "Jesus" had nothing to do with their changing their lives. Praise your parents for their successes Tanya. BTW, nothing changes for eternity. You, or your parents, could get COVID tomorrow and die. Nothing is sure my dear!
Alissa, you seem like a nice person and I have listened to a few of your TH-cams. I am glad you had a chance to visit my hometown! However, since you live near Nashville, I would assume that a certain mega church paid you to come speak and also to cover your expenses. I find it peculiar that one of your points was for folks to stay home and read their Bible, even though that is not what you or the attendees did!🤷♂️ I have several friends that were here for the revival in 1970 and today, 53 years later, they are still some of the most solid, godly spirit filled leaders in our area. I agree with you and hope that the fruit from this revival for the younger generation will be as impactful. Time will tell. I also agree with you that I wish everyone would just stay home and leave us alone, and let the Lord do what he’s going to do!🙏🔥
You are very straight-forward, very real, very to the point, very articulate, and very sincere. Thank You for allowing God to use you. May He continue to use you & bless you & protect you as you share God's word. Thank You for sharing, not just this, but ALL you do!!!
Amen! A lot of people have a hard time differentiating between emotion and heartfelt surrender to the will, guidance and power of the Holy Spirit within us. I remember being at a service once where everyone was full of emotion and the speaker was "praying the Spirit down". I remember thinking, the Holy Spirit is already here within us if we are believers. We walk by faith not by sight...and "sight" is a way of saying sensory experiences that drive our emotions. I see it all over TH-cam.... people getting caught up in the emotionalism of others - it can be very contagious. You're right, time will tell if there is fruit from this.
Many skeptical people will be very happy now. The Asbury President has shut down the "revival". I bet many fake Christians will say, " see I told you!" That is why America is what it is right now: so many fake Christians in a Protestant country. Instead of being happy that their students are worshiping God, this skeptics will always find fault. Perhaps you, Americans, would prefer to see your youth to be high with drugs and alcohol. To kill fellow students in schools. You pathetic Americans!
The woman who was a sinner was crying without saying a word when she wiped the feet of Jesus with her tears, and Jesus forgave her. The LORD knows the hearts of those who are in Asbury and He knows what to give them, and that is joy and peace and repentance. I believe that many hard and cold hearted people on this page are beyond salvation. They have shown what kind of heart they have. Alisa Childers and her likes are hypocrites!
@@mariaperpetuadeguzman2314 "I believe that many hard and cold hearted people on this page are beyond salvation" So let me ask you this Maria. I'm making the not altogether unreasonable assumption that you believe that Jesus is God. On the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus called us to love and forgive our enemies. It was an unconditional request. There were no ifs and buts. Love and forgive your enemies. If we are to believe Jesus is God, then is it not unreasonable to assume that Jesus asked us to do this, because that is what God does. Unless God holds us to a higher standard than he holds himself? This is the major problem I see with Evangelical Christianity, and it's one that many Christians don't face up to because it means having to completely question everything they thought they believed to be true. The Jesus and the God that many evangelical Christians believe in are worlds apart. Sometimes it sounds like they are talking about two entirely different people. This is problematic. Now, if you don't believe Jesus is God then that's fair enough and you are absolutely entitled to that. If, however, you believe Jesus is God, you quite simply cannot reconcile Jesus to God whilst holding the view you have professed in the comment I included above. It's actually blasphemous to believe what you believe.
"beyond salvation"? I'm a continuationist but I actually agree with taking caution. It isn't doubting God to say that people can get swept up in emotionalism and that you should sometimes wait to see the eventual fruits of such a move. I'm not cessationist, but to declare them all as "hypocrites" is an incredibly judgmental thing to do, especially if you don't even know them or their testimony or life experiences. To say that they are cold spiritually is a very rash accusation if you know nothing about them.
I agree with what you say. I live in Montana. I grew up in KY. I’ve been a born again believer for 42 years. I walk with Jesus daily. I was thinking today as I was worshipping and praying and in the Word, it’s no different than at Asbury. Jesus is here as much as He is there.
My son lives in Bigfork. We are wanting to move to between Kalispel and Bigfork. Perhaps in Columbia Falls. We have been praying for the Lord’s plan and direction.
Thank you for this video ! I'm from Geneva (Switzerland) and heard about this revival... I was also sceptical because of the social media hype... thank you for your balance 🙏
Lord God Hear our prayers for your protection over this gathering that those searching would encounter you. Let no weapon formed against us prosper . Protect this gathering and ALL POWER ALL Glory ALL PRAISE be yours Lord!!!!
I understand your skepticism; there was a false revival a while back [90"s?] here in Wilmore that was part of the Toronto blessing that was totally out of hand and very unbliblical that caused much division; so I too am cautious. Here's a few thoughts for you Alisa, based on what is happening. Dr. Robert Coleman has been there. He's the one that wrote the definitive book on the 1970's revival at Asbury. I haven't talked to him yet, but he was praying in some of the video footage. He might be someone you could talk to and get his thoughts. [He wrote the incredible book on evangelism, The Master Plan of Evangelism that many mission organizations and churches use]. My personal thoughts: I've been there twice. Both times it was orderly. The staff [I know them] are trying to keep it both spontaneous and orderly, really working with the students on that. You can see them in the background, giving advice, etc. They have times of just Bible reading. Times of just testimony, where those sharing are requested to keep it under 90 seconds, to keep it current, and to keep it focused on Jesus. There is a real peace there too. Also emphasized is repentance and take it to the world, as it is not just about us. Also, Asbury is not Pentecostal but conservative Methodist, still holding fast to John Wesley's teaching. NAR theology would not be welcome nor allowed. This is quite a theologically deep town, with both a seminary and the university, and classes on cults and false religion like NAR and the name it claim it garbage. Lastly, there are incredible stories of much prayer surrounding this. For example, a seminary professor from Malaysia quit his job 3 1/2 years ago to come here at God's calling to pray for revival. He left for Japan for a couple weeks in early Feb. and when he came back, the next day it began. I saw him these past years walking around town, just praying. So I really believe that God himself orchestrated this. If we follow him, it will go well. The staff at Asbury are now alerted and many are now praying against the NAR and the name it claim it crazies. Thanks for the warning. PS it is at the University but it is also spilling over into the Seminary due to lack of room. They are separate institutions but both conservative Wesleyan doctrine.
Fantastic comment! Thank you for sharing. Your words and perspective are encouraging, and we are so glad to hear that the staff is praying against the NAR!
NAR movement is not biblical. They twist scripture to suit their needs. Man choosing to usher in Jesus 2nd coming from heaven to earth through the 5 fold ministry. Teach that everyone can be taught to be any if the 5 fold. These gifts of ministry are only given by Holy Spirit who chooses the people to have them. Jesus does not need man to bring about His agenda. Dominion now. Is wrong. No accountability when a prophet gives a wrong interpretation. In OT prophets were stoned to death if they gave a prophecy in error. Yes we are under grace but that is no excuse. People need to know the awe of the Lord/ fear/ holiness of God and read and study their bible so they will not get duped.
Apocalipse 7 9:10
As a one time newager, legalist and charismatic I see your advice as sound. Those looking for something “more” need to dig deep into God’s word. My two cents as a Christian of 50 years. Love the Lord and keep his commands
Thank you Alisa for showing careful and sober discernment in reaction to this event while also having a hopeful and graceful attitude to it. I appreciate that someone like you who has a platform of influence has a heart that is not divorced from their mind. I found your three points of concern very helpful in helping me to discern these things as well. I was recently lead to a sound church which recently articulated the difference between true revivals and something called 'revivalism'. Turns out, the majority of so-called 'revivals' actually fall under revivalism. There's a really good book out there on this called ‘Revival & Revivalism: THE MAKING AND MARRING OF AMERICAN EVANGELICALISM" by Iain H. Murray. I was wondering if you could read it and may be share more Christian insight on this issue.
Yes, agreed. Alot of true revival is in the closet with the LORD. A place to be alone, with words that one can not utter. Our love to others is to be seen by the world, in order that they would glorify our God. Remember...we are wretched, but saved, and that stays with us until the end of our life. That is true revival I believe. Psalm 103 is very clear, and very personal.
The last final words you gave were absolutely the best advice for all! When looking at the word of God’s clear warning in Matthew 24 about the last days being those of great deception with a multitude of false prophets and teachers to be alert to, as well as the great falling away (apostasy) that will take place before Jesus returns, it is wise for us to truly test the spirits and seek Him for the truth as there will be SO many fooled by false movements proclaiming another gospel and false Christs as well.
This is totally different from what she's talking about. Mustn't we feed from the masters table, wherever He places it. Surly He comes to us. The greatest move is Him drawing us to Himself.
I share some of your concerns, but at the same time there can be something special about being around people who are hungry for God and being in that corporate setting. Let's be honest, the level of hunger and the atmosophere that is happening now at Asbury is not what most people are going to get at their local church right now. People can read their Bible, pray, love God and pray for that kind of a movement in their local church and they should, but I don't see an issue with people traveling there and witnessing it themselves for a few days. And given that Asbury is pretty theologically sound and Wesleyan (not hyper charismatic), I doubt they allow wolves to come in and devour the sheep or hijack what is happening.
"What I experienced on Sunday morning I can experience at home." Great news! Can we find out how many college students she had to step over who fell on their faces in repentance and desperation calling out to God at her church too?
@@misstowerflower_rapture_watch You're missing the point. She said she could experience the same thing at her church as what's happening as Asbury, and suggested there was no need to go there, on the basis of a short, cursory visit. So it's fair to assume, on the basis of her statement that scores of people are being overcome with grief at their sin and complacency and crying out in desperation for God at her fellowship as well. I mean, is she "getting that" at her church as well? That's quite a claim.
I wouldn't be too concerned with the 3 things you mentioned. The Spirit of God moves when He desires to move. When God reveals Himself in revival let's just receive all that we can receive from Him, let Him be all in all, and let Him be in control. There will always be critics and offenders in revival - that's always been the case in God's revival in history - just celebrate and focus on what God is doing, it's not unto us to be mindful of those 3 things you're concerned about.
God gave us emotions! Getting emotional for Him is wonderful. Don’t listen to people over analyzing it. Keep it pure and simple just like it began! God bless
But feelings come from the heart and Gods word says our hearts are deceitful. ESV - Jer17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick who can understand it. Emotions are used for sinful things all the time. Not saying what’s happening in Ashbury is not good, I think we can’t judge it yet until we see the fruit later on as Alisa said. The word of God tells us we are to be controlled by the Holy Spirit not our emotions. This could be a leading of the Holy Spirit or it might not be, read the Bible and test all things with the Word as your guide.
What people are referring to are getting the goosebumps-the gummy bear, tickle me Elmo feelings. You can get those same “emotions” at a Coldplay concert. Now, I have personally have Spirit driven experiences in my life where I “feel” an overflow of the presence of God. I understand we as believers have those and they are beautiful. We have to discern the Spirit vs the cuddly wuggly feelings.
No. God created us with emotions in his image. He also has emotions. Emotions are not bad. Just like any part of us, they can be tainted by sin. When we meet with God he deals with all of us - heart, mind, emotions and all. We are whole beings and it is wonderful to meet with God with all we are and feel love, joy, peace, and everything good that comes from his Spirit.
@@plousia Spot on. The Scripture is full of emotion. These critical lemon sucking commenters here, don't know scripture nearly as well as they think they do.
Thank you, Alisa, for your ministry. I like how you said not to be distracted by shiny objects. God is just as much in our mundane day-to-day lives as He is in the revival. And I really like how you said to love your family. There are so many who seek the emotional experience but have trouble walking in love with their family members in day-to-day living (which can be a struggle for us all).
Exactly. We studied 1 Cor 10 this week, and being forgiving, loving others, being discerning, and watching God work in our mundane, everyday lives is important.
Protect them Lord! These sweet young people are being encouraged to trust but they also need to surrender wholly to Him! I’m all for a revival of repentance and restoration! Yes Lord! ❤ I’m sure there was some emotional excitement during the feeding of the 5000 and Jesus recognized some of their motives were flesh driven, yet He still fed them. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send workers because the harvest is plentiful!
When I first heard of this I was a little skeptical myself.... seems to be my nature at times. We have so much going on today to feed that skepticism. HOWEVER, the Lord reminded me of when Peter was in prison and the people were praying for his release. When the angel came and got Peter out and he went to show himself to those same people they didn't even believe it was him. (Acts 12.) Lord God help us to not quench or grieve your Spirit. I agree we are to use discernment but we have to be careful not to become scoffers. I trust this is the work of God's Holy Spirit. I have prayed for sometime to see a revival or great awakening in this country. I am blessed and encouraged to see such a large group of young people drawn and obedient to prayer and worship. If I understand correctly this began from a message of repentance (praise God). May we all repent. May we all hold fast to our Lord and His Word. May we all pray that this is a true and sincere movement of the Holy Spirit and it sweeps our land. I pray the fruit of this manifest in these kiddos and others in attendance. I pray!!!!!
It's in very early stages... but what I'm seeing is very encouraging! Young people zealous to be in God's presence, worshipping Him night and day! I attended the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola in 1996. My life was completely transformed by the power of God and through the repentance preaching of Steve Hill. I drove 30 hours from Eastern Canada to be there. God so profoundly transformed me, I had to go again... I drove 5 more times and flew twice during the following 4 years the revival continued. I don't know why God chooses a particular place and time to graciously pour out His spirit on people like this, but I can tell you with all my heart from my own encounters at Brownsville, you need to get in your car and get to this revival! If you are hungry for God, just go! This may not happen again in our time. Blessings brothers and sisters! May a Holy Ghost outpouring sweep the nations and save this generation! "LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, LORD. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy." Habakkuk 3:2
Yes! My family too! My husband was instantly delivered of 17 yrs of alcoholism watching Steve Hill on the 700 club! We sold everything and moved to Pensacola so he could attend BRSM, he was in the pioneer class. Very first student to graduate! Mark Ashmore! We have been praying for revival to sweep this nation and wreck the young people!! PTL!
Rodney Howard-Browne? Oh come on. What a charlatan. Or perhaps just an extremely misguided Christian with a domineering personality. Charismania: come out of her my people!
I am SO thankful for this going viral! Never in my life would I think the church would see this as a negative thing. I would hope we would want the world to know what is happening. I don’t think we should “leave them alone”, thank you Jesus for what your doing and I pray it spreads to campuses and churches across the nation. If you spent more than a few minutes maybe you would see their hearts more fully. We can be worried, afraid, “discerning” and “watchful “ to the point we miss it. I’ll never understand discernment podcasts. You don’t need a constant diet of someone spoon feeding you fear of deception to learn how to contend for the faith. You have what you need.
Pray much, all who watch this ... for both short term and long term, God's amazing, wise, powerful use of this and glorification! And pray that all who see this and wonder about it would gain in truth and God would even use it in them. Thank you for your thoughtful response, Alisa. Asbury students, look to God and do what He leads, fill your minds and hearts with truth (God's word!) and don't let outward or worldly influences taint or influence your faith and your relationship with God! Keep God's word flowing in; life is about Him, not you, not those on social media, not the powerful of the world. We are praying for you!
Hey people go on cruises and walt Disney world for an experience. Why not go for an experience with God? Thank God this is happening. I'm so excited for them. We need this in USA. God is being glorified!🔥❤
Disney isn’t omnipresent the way God is, and Jesus said our worship will no longer be confined to a temple or a mountain but in spirit and truth. I don’t think it’s wrong to go there but I think it’s good to be cautious about whether we are idolizing the experience or starting to think of God’s presence being limited to certain places. May we pray with the same fervour and faith no matter where we are, He hears us all the same, simply because of His son Jesus
Revival is about worship and saving souls, not a Christian tourist destination, if you're local and want to praise God thank God you are blessed to be a part of it, but it should be more than a tourist destination. If you feel so strongly to go there why not pray for and work for revival in your church?
The Asbury "revival" is shut down by the University President. Many skeptics will be very happy now. These skeptics, who are the fake American Christians and ungodly Americans would rather like to see their students to be high in drugs and alcohol, And killing students in their schools. Shame on you American people. You judged right away and spoke negatively. What is wrong with seeing people gathering together to worship God and would like to feel His glory to a Place He has anointed? Shame on you American skeptics and self righteous fake American Christians. You are the most hypocritical people. Instead of being happy to see something good, you would rather like to see something bad like violence in your streets and campuses.
Point number 3 was my big concern as well. Thank you for a well thought out response and the last 15 seconds of the video were exactly what Christians need to hear and do!
Thank you so much for adding your well-rounded perspective on this. I WANT to believe that this is truly revival in the biblical sense, I WANT to see people partake in moments like this, but I also strongly desire there to be true biblical repentance, conviction of sin, and turning towards God. I feel almost bad for being skeptical of these things because I don’t want to doubt the moving of the Spirit, but I also don’t want to be naive either. I so appreciate this video as it has provided me so much peace. Thank you, Alisa!
In the world
Amen!!!!!!!! Hallelujah I agree!!!!!!
Amen!
You are so right. If this is truly of God, it will grow and lives will be changed. I pray fervently that this goes forward into chapels at campuses across this land and churches in this country and beyond. God Bless Asbury.
Well said. Thank you so much for the insight!
I agree with the pastor. Thanks for sharing.
I was reading just now that Todd Bentley is heading there...
@@godsstruggler8783 he was not invited. Just announced it almost as if to look that way. 🙄
Love it!
Did God do something with that Damar Hamlin thing? So many people who were not religious were voicing prayers. You could tell because they typed 'Prayers to Damar'.
Experience. Heart. Believe. But testing? Discernment? Actions? Obedience? Repentance?

The Book of Acts has no ending!!!
Definitely agree! From experience, when a group revival is happening, it is much easier to get caught up in the presence and holiness of God. I've also experienced a powerful move of God on my own, and in a classroom with no music or hype. Seek God wherever you are and make this revival a reality in your faith community as well!
God bless u.Amen
Amen! I love your balanced view of God's ways and works. They are Biblical.
Well said.
I also know a lot of the students are exhausted physically from all of the time they spent there and they’re trying to get some rest, and actually eat something
i did not see Alisa negate what is going on. She even ssid we need to discern yhat it is truly a revival from God based on his Word
And it’s better to see this on social media than crap like the Grammys and Super Bowl.
When people are drawn by the holy spirit it is truly a move of the or

I watched this video from Japan. This text was written using deeple translation. I could understand only 50% of the English, so at first I was just watching asbury youtube, but halfway through I suddenly started to cry. They were tears of emotion that came from within. I felt the strong presence of God. Then I gave thanks to God on the land of Japan. I think revival happens from within a person. Is it a coincidence that my heart was given the desire to be closer to God? That's what I thought.

I don’t know it was
That revival or at a regular chapel, but I am a product of Asbury’s
Openness to the moving of the Holy Spirit.
AWESOME!
I am from Kenya too.

So good to hear. I've been through revival and sense the sweetness and purity of this one, even online. Been praying for the leadership and impressed by how simple the worship is.

So can you tell me what the gospel is then and where is the gospel in the Bible?
You should record a video talking about your experience there, that'd be great!
What is some of the fruit?
I am thankful that The Wise men didn’t stay home but decided to follow the star. I’ve read throughout the Bible that the people journeyed to be in the presence of Jesus. If the Holy Spirt puts it on your heart to go to Asbury, then do so. I’m thankful that social media is available to share with the world what’s happen in Asbury.
You are 100% right
The only one we should obey is GOD this lady may have good intentions but she is out of line.

@@awakentolife9972 Right on. She acts like she understands how revivals work but she only speaks with a critical eye toward them. She spent more time on a cynical, critical TH-cam reaction video than spending time actually in the building at Asbury!

Fruit of The Spirit is needed. More young people repenting and coming OUT of babylon IS a blessing, more young people being delivered is a blessing and more people speaking boldly in the streets and marketplace ( sharing The Gospel with The Fear of The Lord ). ...these are blessings. 🙏. Jesus glorify yourself in these young people. Amen.

Are you asking / inquiring of Yahweh if that is so? Or are you relying upon trends and past anaysis, and knowing how those who shouted "Hosanna!" soon were shouting "Crucify Him!" I sense very strongly that some ( not all, perhaps only relatively few ) because the tares are shoulder to shoulder with the wheat, *are* being *set free* IN Jesus of Nazareth. I am not ignorant of the enemies devices for it is assured that many who profess faith and do all manners of hype are not going to endure until the end. We are in the midst of the great fallinggg away. Right now and all around us. Let God be true and every man a liar. Where is your heart? Let me ask again *where is your heart?* Do you see the bible changes? Do you know bibles are altering? Ink on pages and words being replaced? Masonic language inserts, roman catholicism inserts, Jihad Jesus, gender confused Jesus, fable inserts and black magic happening in Bibles. Perhaps you are one who knows the voice of The Good Shepherd. There will be more coming out of babylon and they will have an Elijah / John The Baptist annointing. This will happen regardless of you and I. Amazing. Shalom.

That is a nice, simple way to sum it up.
*Ive heard some very disturbing things. I hope they are not true but I think they could be.*
I would encourage you to join me in taking the advice of a wise man who essentially said, “Don’t be too concerned. If this movement is not if God, it will fizzle out. If it IS of God, you won’t be able to stop it.”
@@hainesmaxwell3898 "surely were EXTREMELY concerned about a carpenter from Nazareth that did not fit at all with their picture of what the “coming king” should look like" *Im pretty sure Jesus did instruct His Apostles to make sure that GROUPS with intentions and motives to destroy the Church INFILTRATED HIS CHURCH. We don’t want to go anywhere, but we also want to be with people who are just as devoted to God. Most churches are dead.
I’m ready to go.
Coming to faith……being filled with His Spirit is emotional. The day He awakened me I cried like never before in my entire life. But with a smile on my face.
Brothers and sisters,
Please pray for me.
God bless you
You need to find someone gifted in deliverance ministry and go through deliverance.
@@jackiemcintosh7162
It's unfair to categorically state that God will heal someone when you don't have all the information.

Well said. We should not discourage people to come….it might just be a God-driven appointment.
@@newinsights5496 you all right
If this is true and genuine.. which appears so.. then yes just the unity in the spirit and the fellowship as we are living in such difficult times is enough for folks to travel to it.

Despite the videos and pictures you may be seeing which capture snippets of what is happening but doesn’t provide context, the atmosphere was relaxed, prayerful but not scripted.

This is the kind of "my truth" nonsense that is being perpetuated in this fake world. The Russian collusion hoax, the evolution theory, and the climate change delusions are also real to a lot of ppl in this world, _but they're still not true_ . I was there the same Sunday morning as well… best summary that represents my sentiments…”Whatever is happening at Asbury, time will tell, but I do know one thing:
It would be very much like God to bring revival without the presence of highly produced lighting, music, graphic effects, and trendy clothes.”
I assure you from my conversation with those stewarding this revival they are as concerned as you with all the issues you addressed in this video.
I would choose to take a my gracious assessment of these services. If it is truly of God and produces fruit that last we will know over the next few years.

At least this going on then nothing 🙏🙏
I was set free from suicidal desperation by praying at my home and surrounding to GOD. I have been free for years now, and I am still trusting GOD.
Glory to God brother Kent i believe it, I also believe that the Lord is moving in a powerful way across the globe, for His time of His second coming draws near. May we all have our lamps full of oil. Blessings
Just because revival is happening world wide does not mean its from God. There is a counterfeit of the Holy spirit that is very deceptive
The Big Test is coming. All these things must happen. We saw parts of it in 2011. Resistance will be a main factor in this outcome. It's up to you, not the Lord's. Oil up. Some tremendous events will change society an we will go through it before Jesus sounds the Trumpet 🎺

I came to Jesus during the Jesus during Jesus Movement during the early 70s and I have experienced several genuine moves of God since then. There was some emotionalizim in all of them because we are all humans with emotions. But even so my experience has been the deep things God does in people's hearts remains and lives are changed. You do realize Methodist church is mostly LGTBQ pasgors and attendees right?

I can relate- well said- Jesus is Lord
This. "You don't have to go somewhere to get something." Thank you for sharing this, Alisa. I really do believe that we as North Americans need to get down on our knees and pray. I'm guilty of not but if I really, truly want revival, then I should be praying.
Amen
The live streams can affect people too just feeling like you are with the people there worshipping in spirit and truth.
This is what the word says Luke 10:27
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Hannah, yes people are getting up and reading God’s word constantly!!
Right. She goes for a few minutes then does a video on revival as if she's an authority. Then tells people not to go... If people want to go let them do what they're led to do.
🙏🏻😇❤️
Those who say this is "experience-driven" should remember that truth has to be experienced. Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Just. Thank you.
She's spot on!
Please please please listen to her podcast with Apologia right here on TH-cam🙏 she talks about "church hurt" more on there and it was very helpful
I felt the movement of the holy spirit just by watching it on my phone of Asbury college
You FELT the movement?? A lot of people FELT and just knew it was God in the Lakeland revival too! Was it the move of The holy Spirit? NO!
And fear not them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him that is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Pray for humans, even those who vex you. The demons are God’s enemies, not we fragile sheep.
"They sold their property and possessions and gave to anyone who had need." Acts 2:45
Here is that "revival" at the Methodist, Wesleyan Asbury Unversity.

Thank you for sharing this, Melissa. I was able to see this through your post ❤️
@@CounterAgenda1 , curious why you say not really. What is it that you disagree with?
20 minutes does not cut it
Agreed. And, quite honestly -- relieved to hear it said so beautifully. Let us pray for the Spirit of God to grant discernment and that this will not become another Brownsville or Pensacola.
@@thetwoparrishes1938 I went to Brownsville hundreds of times. What was your experience with it?
100% correct

All this, while you missed The Beautiful Love of God, displayed at Ashbury!! For missing out on that Wonderful situation, over the meaning of a word, I feel sorry for you!! The Holy Spirit Testifies, that at Ashbury, those who worshipped, worshipped in Spirit, and in Truth...
If my son was attending these chapel services at a very theologically sound university, I would be thrilled (he's only nine right now).
Jude 24 🙏✝️
Thank you for your measured response.
Your example of if all the Bible’s were confiscated and some wicked force takes all the Bible’s away and then someone had an actual Bible and began reading it, for 24 hours etc…The story doesn’t follow through well, because if that were to happen, No One would be able to make to the Bible Reading “Revival”
because the Ones confiscating the Bible’s would be all over it and shut it down before it even began, and that’s not the true definition of what revival could be and I’ll leave that Biblical research for each person reading my long thought processes to do for themselves. Thank you.
Where can i find it live ? Id love to tune in.
All these stories about what he actually said are heresy, handed down by word of mouth over 10-generations(!)
And the unknown authors who wrote these stories about him were undoubtedly exaggerating to sell their book!
Amen. We really need this. Wherever we are. We can pray. Please pray for the Lord to come. We really need him now.
Alissa, you seem like a nice person and I have listened to a few of your TH-cams. I am glad you had a chance to visit my hometown! However, since you live near Nashville, I would assume that a certain mega church paid you to come speak and also to cover your expenses. I find it peculiar that one of your points was for folks to stay home and read their Bible, even though that is not what you or the attendees did!🤷♂️
I have several friends that were here for the revival in 1970 and today, 53 years later, they are still some of the most solid, godly spirit filled leaders in our area.

Amen. Your fruit is good sister, compared to this cynical woman here. Let us pray for her to be filled with joy instead of cynicism. 🙏
@@mariaperpetuadeguzman2314 "I believe that many hard and cold hearted people on this page are beyond salvation"
So let me ask you this Maria.

Thank you so much for everything you shared!!!❤️
Fantastic comment! Thank you for sharing. Your words and perspective are encouraging, and we are so glad to hear that the staff is praying against the NAR!
Thank you for all you wrote. It lines up with what I hear from family that live there.
Amen Alicia.

Alisa your advice and comments are really biblically founded and helpful
The experience at Asbury is beautiful ❤️ praise God!
Great insight Alisa. Let revival begin in each of us by feasting on God’s word.
This is totally different from what she's talking about. Mustn't we feed from the masters table, wherever He places it. Surly He comes to us. The greatest move is Him drawing us to Himself.
Thank you so much for this. I am praying for protection from the enemy for all those participating.
May the Lord be lifted up and glorified🙏
Thank you!
Thanks Alisa for bringing some balance to this issue. God bless you, your family and your ministry.
"What I experienced on Sunday morning I can experience at home." Great news! Can we find out how many college students she had to step over who fell on their faces in repentance and desperation calling out to God at her church too?
I agree with you. My question is, yes, but do you experience it? If not, then why warn people away from something as precious as this?
This is the rebuke she needs.
She spoke of her experience not yours.
@@shawnerandlett9384that's not what she said. I suggest you rewatch the video and listen carefully.
Beautifully and Biblically said, Alisa. So grateful for you, as always!!
Thank you for your balanced perspective. It helps us to be able to understand what is happening and to know what to pray for about this.
Absolutely right.
Asbury is the farthest thing from a shining object. It’s no Bethel, Elevation, or Hillsong.
Yes and amen to what you said.
Amen. Thank you for being a sober, God-fearing voice 🙏🏽
Praise the Lord these Revivals at Asbury and Lee Universities are exactly what we need and what America needs from sea to shining sea
Thank you so much for a very balanced and pragmatic response, Alisa. Bless you.
Alisa , thank you. I couldn't agree with you more, well said and thank the Lord for a presence like yours on social media.
What a nice worded wet blanket to throw on hearts burning for more of God
Every time God moved who got mad?? The religious folk..enough said just rejoice in what the Lord is doing
Hey people go on cruises and walt Disney world for an experience. Why not go for an experience with God? Thank God this is happening. I'm so excited for them. We need this in USA. God is being glorified!🔥❤
Yes but it's not about an "experience"...it's about turning from sin, ok??
@@devab2895It’s ok to have an experience in your life with God as well.
