Hey guys, I failed to put in a bunch of the 1987 Fleer cards including Michael Jordan in this list. I'll make an updated video in the future! So stay tuned for that. Let me know which topic do you want me to cover next? Thanks for watching, commenting and liking the video!
Again I didn't do Basketball, wish I had. Well done, Matt your channel should be a most if your in to collecting or wanting to get back into a wonderful hobby.
Dude literally 24-26 minutes ago I said we need a PSA top 25 basketball cards from the 80's! Great minds think alike Playboy! So you gave me what I wanted plus 5 more. I wish it was like that while recieving cookies!
Great video, I just pulled out my basketball cards and found some of these to include two of the Jordon 1987 Fleer sticker cards but I also was depressed, I found two bird, johnson rookie cards and as 5 year old I didn't know any better and torn them at the perforation mark. I'm kicking myself now....
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR My man! Thank you so much for your videos. Very helpful. I have full sets 87, 88, 89, 90 basketball along with singles in good shape and I have no clue what to do with them. Jerkball baseball card shops always just say they're all worth nothing and to donate them but I think they are just bitter old bastards. I suppose I should just send them away to have them graded?
Quick question is there local places that grade or do I need to send my cards out? Also have u ever seen a 1986 prob fake jordan rookie misprint? I got one it’s your #2 on this list
Is there way I can get in touch with you to help me about getting cards graded and connections to platforms, people and auctions where the cards I have can have a better chance of selling for the best value? I know I can put them on EBay but it can take forever to sell from there.
Thanks for your time, and the videos keep getting better. Your doing a good job.I just started making a few videos and am learning how to speak a little better. But thanks
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. You have to keep making videos and you'll get better through time. Just like riding a bike, mountain climbing, running a mile etc. No body is perfect when they first start out. 👍👍 keep at it!
Be on the look out for them at garage sales or antique shops to make up for the lost cards. That's what I do! I've found a box of 1986 Topps football cards for $20 once!
Love the 1986 fleer basketball set. Im putting a Psa 9 set together myself. IT'S funny too see how popular 86 fleer got to be. Over 100,000 dollars for a hobby box sealed. IT'S been a rumor that you can pull jordan rc 2-3 card's per hobby box. Keep up the Great work.
Thanks for the feedback! A PSA 9 set would be very impressive! I look for mint 9's every now and then. Getting packs and boxes is practically impossible any more unless you've got some big $$$
Hey Playboy, I have a suggestion. Maybe you can do teams Lakers, Celtics, Cowboys, Steelers, Yankees, Cubs, Penguins, Blackhawks etc. Just a great thought for future videos! Great idea huh?
Team videos is a great idea, never thought of that.. I'll have to do some intense research in order to get everyone on the list. The Cowboys would be pretty easy, Yankees would entail a lot of cards. Thanks for the tip!
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR My mother went into labor with me while at Texas Stadium watching the Dallas Cowboys play. My cousin is Tony Dorsett so I was born to be a true Cowboys fan!
Yep, I totally missed that one. It sells for over $2,000 in gem mint condition. I had a feeling I was missing one. Good catch! Got it added to the list.
Is it always worth it to submit your cards to PSA? let's say if you thought you're going to get tens is it worth it to submit them if you're going to resell?
How does Jeff Malone sell for more than Karl Malone. Guess its the pop, This is crazy!! I need to look and see if I got any of theses I know I got a Barkley from the pippen set, but I think it just misses the list.
the 88 Fleer basketball cards have the best look of ALL sports cards/years imo. And to me, it seemed Fleer made the best product of all brands in the junk wax era... even those hideous yellow ones in 91 or whatever always kept well.
I failed to put the '87 Jordan in this list. I'm not sure what the heck I was trying to do. I'm going to consider this a rough draft list and will come out with an update one in the future. 👍
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR I actually thought this was a really great list!! I really enjoyed it. I haven't seen anyone else do a list like this. You really did a great job.
@@bfgolf Oh awesome, lol, thanks for the feedback! I still can't believe I missed that epic Jordan card and most of the '87 Fleer cards. I was too focused on all the dang '86 and '88 rookies!
It is a real tragedy that PSA does not grade Star Basketball cards from 83-86. Only because I feel that those cards are the true and real rookie cards of quite a few HOF's (Drexler, Olajuwon, Jordan, Barkley, Stockton, Ewing) just to name a few. Real tragedy..............
The real tragedy here is all the scamming going on in the hobby. If it weren't for counterfeiters printing fake cards then PSA would still be grading the Star cards. They print a lot of other cards as well. It sucks bc I'm a fan of those cards as well. Tons of great XRC rookie cards in those sets.
Yo! I have full sets of 87,88,89 Fleer along with tons of random cards kept safe. I don't even know where to start. Some guy who owns a cards store by me told me just to donate them! What the fuck? What's your advice on how to finally make money on these things? I have kept them locked up and they should be in great shape.
Apparently, I do not know NBA. Who is Jeff Malone?!?!? And how is his rookie worth over $1000? And lets add Johnny Moore to that! Worth more than HOFers.
Karl Malone's little brother! lol, just kidding. The pop report on his cards is low so finding a PSA 10 is more difficult, so supply and demand is the reason his card is so high. You're correct on the Johnny Moore, he should be on the list 👍thanks for the input!
Dumb to leave out Star cards. Jordan 1984 #101 base true rookie card is clearly the grand daddy of the 80s cards. BGS 9.5 worth well over 1 million! BGS 9 still over $114k.
His card is so high in value because of how rare it is to find in PSA 10, gem mint condition. Not because he was a dominating force for the Spurs during his 10-year career. His highlights are over 520 games played, averaged 9.4 points, 7.4 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.96 steals per game, and a field goal percentage of 46.0. So, don't feel foolish. I had no idea who he was either lol.
Johnny Moore going for 10k is prolly because nobody valued his card back in the day, so they didn't take care of it like the Jordan's and Hakeem's. Reminds me of when I was a kid, there was a card in a shop that was graded a 9 or a 10 and was going for a lot. I had never heard of the guy. The player's identity escapes me now, but he was a no-name catcher for the Cubs or Dodgers, I remember a blue uniform. His card was #1 in that set and most kids would rubber-band their cards together, usually with him in front. Fiding a card of his from that set in good condition became near impossible!
For basketball? No way, 1986 Fleer is the absolute best in my opinion. Look at all those rookie cards! It's crazy Fleer started printing cards in that year and not Topps.
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR do you are anyone know why topps quit printing those years? seems like I remember something about a buy out of another company ...just can't remember. By the way is there an address where I could send you something?
I think they will for sure, man. Collectors will start getting tired of the new stuff and will start looking at the old classics. I already am and a bunch of other guys comment about how they do as well. I think the popularity will start to grow in a couple of years if not sooner. You have to be careful with what you buy though, not all of it will make the cut. Jordan cards for sure are a safe bet. Baseball is Griffey, Bonds, Thomas, Chipper, etc.
In just 2 years those prices have skyrocketed. Especially the 86 Jordan.

Did the 1987 Fleer Jordan not make the list? I figure in a PSA 10 that one would be at least around a thousand.
It should definitely be on the list. A PSA 10 gem mint 10 example sells for over $2,000 consistently. I definitely overlooked that one. Good tip!

There’s a Stockton in the 88 fleer pack too

What about star company cards
Imagine if You also collected BGS slabs. Majority of these cards wouldn't be on the list as Star cards really ruled the 80's.
