This originated from Japan. This is Japanese sweet food. The name is "GOZA-SOROH". Another name of "GOZA-SOROH" is called "OHBAN-YAKI" and "IMAGAWA-YAKI".
Hate to break it to you, but these originated in Japan and many Asian countries have served them with the same fillings for longer - Mr Bean in Singapore has been selling tuna-filled pancakes since heaven knows when.
Yeah this is called 車輪餅 (lit: wheel cake) in Taiwan but the origin is Japanese, a snack called 今川焼き (imagawayaki) or 大判焼き (ohbanyaki). Although I understand if my fellow Indonesians liken it to our own martabak mini, but it's actually different.
I get your point but in my country, we have tteokbokki stalls in every street corner and that doesn't make that dish "ours", it's Korean and announcing it publicly on media that it is ours is just asking for argument
Lee Chien These are a staple dessert / snack in Singapore too, but we don't claim that they're Singaporean. They're definitely Japanese. Just like how prata and chicken rice, even though they're staples in Singapore, are still Indian and Chinese respectively.
Where I live we called it dorayaki cakes from Doremon. It's just like those wheel cakes but we can get 5 in a bag for just 3 dollars we have less flavours tho but it's good
U guys should try it... Its really good and its really common in my country as i live in singapore...but i prefer the cheesecake and chocolate flavours... Yum yum
So basically, there are different varieties of this street food spread all across Asia and people are commenting about it being either from Japan,Malaysia,Indonesia etc. meh,I'm okay with it
Ok, I live in New York and I am NOT obsessed with these. And, they always say New York as New York City. Insider, there is more to New York than just New York City.
sock precisely u r right but its originated from japan where the original fillings is red bean and blueberry jam but im not sure bout the blueberry jam
It's originally a Japanese treat but Taiwan has adapted some aspects of Japanese culture/food because it used to be under Japanese rule.

It is a Japanese dessert, made by a Taiwanese couple and here is debated of its origin by the Indonesians. Hmm.
Kim YongIn Well, it looks like three Indonesian desserts too, so yeah, please excuse my fellow Indonesians who can't tell the difference.
Indonesians will claim everything as theirs 😂
Hate to break it to you, but these originated in Japan and many Asian countries have served them with the same fillings for longer - Mr Bean in Singapore has been selling tuna-filled pancakes since heaven knows when.

it's not taiwanese, It's japanese dessert called "Imagawayaki" just made by taiwanese couple, at least do some research pls
dayum everyone knows that, but the fact that it's around every street corner in taiwan and that it's a staple desert makes it "taiwanese"
I get your point but in my country, we have tteokbokki stalls in every street corner and that doesn't make that dish "ours", it's Korean and announcing it publicly on media that it is ours is just asking for argument
