Thanks for uploading these and allowing me to watch from the other side of the world. Ring and Pablo were two of my childhood Cardiff heros but they played brilliantly at Pooler, who I always loved to watch. Sad to hear that only a few turn up to watch at Pontypool park now, as particularly remember that epic cup tie when Gerald Davies scored 4 tries and there were ten thousand (?) people on the famous bank there.

Mate thanks for uploading. I'm a Scot but was schooled in Mold. Late 80s early 90s Welsh rugby is my passion.

Look at the crowd behind the tryline at the Taff end and even the people on the balcony at Westgate street. Don't get crowds like that in club rugby anymore. I go to Pontypool Park every home game and we are lucky to get a few hundred now. Even more noticeable is the fact there were no problems in the scrum area either. Heady days for Pontypool. Should have won the double but came unstuck against Neath in the semi.

Brilliant stuff. I'd forgotten Ringo was at Ponty before going to Cardiff. Anyone else remenber Gerald Cordle going into the stands 'for a chat' with some clown that had been giving him verbals? Ha haaa! Not a great idea to have a pop at a Cordle in Cardiff eh. Ha haa. Thanks for the upload Rob. I was at this game, a proper trip down memory lane.

Remember it like yesterday, ran down Westgate St streaming a Pontypool scarf. WRU would kill to have sides playing games of this magnitude today not having their "invented" sides playing nonsense rugby no-one wants to watch

Didn't realize Eddie Butler was still playing in 1988! I thought by then he'd moved onto his media career. He's got a mullet too!

“I think it’s Pontypool by a couple of points”. Not a bad hunch that. Great game.

I was at the match and I still remember the stick that Eddie Butler got for having dyed his hair. Just where had all the grey hair gone?

False memories of the Taff End already having the hospitality building up by '88 as I was in college in Cardiff at that time

The wru effectively killed off top flight club rugby in Wales alienating towns all across South Wales .. regions are a joke with pathetic crowd attendance week in week out

money and professionalism changed everything. Regional rugby had to come sadly.

Sorry, but a valley boy, like Mark Rowley, wearing the blue and black of Cardiff just doesn't sit right with me. Never has, never will! Now, about Tongans etc ( with an identity crisis ) playing for Wales and having the audacity to sing "Mae hen wlad fy nhadau.....," need l say anymore? But this is 2023 where 2+2=5 and confusion is the New Normal!

Cardiff are the most famous rugby club in the world that’s why all the great players wanted to play for them .by the sounds of it you are one of those who think all people who, play for wales should be white
