My father had a 1958 Rover 60, which he bought for £99, in the late sixties. I think it was the most comfortable car I ever travelled in.

My Dad had a Rover P3 75. Had a nice Floor shift and freewheel. I was allowed to drive this when I passed my licence at 15 in NZ. We always preferred the P6 against the P4 for looks having owned several in V8 and and 2000TC form.

Back in the day I had a 1956 90 with a 2.6 ltr engine, they were heavy old beasts, I had to push it once and the effort nearly killed me.

Good old cars! Not what you'd call 'sporty' in the conventional sense, but in Banger Racing in the seventies they reigned supreme. I recall hearing of one racer who winched the rear of his P4 up in the air and filled the box sectioned chassis members with liquid concrete!

Loved it, poor man’s Rolls Royce. Bit heavy on petrol.

Thank you for this. You could not mention all models. I ran a 1954 P4 ‘60’ with a similar sloping rear end to the ‘75’ for a few years. Beautiful car. There was also the ‘80’.

These are wonderful cars! Elegant and understated, I had 75,105 and 110 but fitted the larger 3 Ltr engine in mine, the rear hinged doors were so much better for passengers to enter/exit. Chris B.
