@@360vroomers I've just picked up the Insta360 One X and was pretty immediately disappointed when I tested it out. There is a very noticeable stitching line between the front and rear lens. Is it Normal ? Maybe should I send it back..... :-(

BTW Mic, two things I came across that you probably know anyway. First is the VIRB Edit software. It's so simple to use for basic editing of the stitched 5.7K footage. It also allows for importing your own video and music for soundtracks and can output in a variety of file sizes up to 5.7K. Oh and its free and works on both Android and Mac. The second is to do with photos from the Insta360 Pro camera in 3D. I was never able to find any footage on how to edit the 3D photos but if you edit the 6 individual photos in Lightroom first and use sync so they all have the same adjustments applied to each, then you get a great result.

In fact studio can stitch up to 5 videos simultaneously if your pc is powerful enough.

One of the first doubts that came to me when I started studying a 360 camera (mysphere), was the possibility of using only one of its lens - 180º, should be a standard this possibility for 360 cameras; there must be some way by means of video editor, isolate one of the lens, no?
Hi Eduardo. Some cameras have a built-in function for doing that such as Rylo. But with this method, you can do pretty much that. Just use the lens on the side with the LED screen as if it was a 180 camera. Then use Direction Lock. It will become like a stabilized 180 camera.
Great video as usual! Do you ever get told that you can't take your "selfie stick" on amusement park rides or museums or other places? How do you deal with that?
Hey there SpectraLight! Yes sometimes it happens. I research ahead of time whether a park will allow it or not. That's one advantage of these traveling fairs - they're the most lenient hahaha

Thank you very much my friend! To be honest, its image quality is just on par with Fusion. :) Fusion can do a similar trick to this using anti-shake mode.

Hey Mic. How do you go about backing up the 360 videos from the Insta360 One X to Google Photos? It doesn't seem like Google Photos recognizes the insv.
Hi Jeff! To backup with Google Photos, the videos have to be stitched first. Use Insta360 Studio 2019 to stitch the videos into mp4. Then Google Photos can back them up.
Hi Nic, thanks for the video! I have two quick questions that I wanted to ask youv
1) For the most part, the editing, workflow,vcamera to phone transfer, and most management and editing functions of the insta360 OneX is it describe on your video, also valid for the EVO, correct? Because aside from the evil also shooting 3D 180, the 360 video and photo functions, are almost the same as the OneX, correct?
2) Regarding editing, I have a new iPad Pro 11 inch, that is actually much faster than my 3 year old laptop that has many problems handling 360 or 4K video. Using the standard iPhone Insta360 app for the EVO/OneX, you think it's possible the same workflow and capabilities of the PC Studio app? The fact is that the new iPad Pros now are so fast, and so easy to use, that I would like the ability to do all my 360 and 3D 180 workflow directly from the camera onto the iPad, and not even need to use the laptop anymore :)

Hi Android! Yes the techniques here also work for Insta360 Evo. The difference is that the Evo's front lens is the side without the shutter button.
The new iPad is powerful but it uses a different OS so it cannot run Studio. But you can use V360 or Veer Editor app to edit 360 videos on your iPad. But please note: the output will be limited to 4k.

Hi, I just bought the One X2 and regardless of the distance of subjects the stitch line is dark where bottom of the camera is, as though the lens is picking up part of the camera. It is always visible. The rest of the stitch line is fine. Do I need to calibrate the lenses or something? Thanks
Hi jozza. Did you put some kind of skin or other accessory on your One X2? That could be causing it.
How are you able to see the camera menu is bright sunlight? I have a real problem seeing my menu.
Great question Joe! I have a hard time seeing it (I have to shade the LED display with my hands). But mostly I rely on the LED on the bottom. When it is blinking, then I know it is recording :D
How do you edit out the stitch lines on your video? Usually when I edit, the stitch lines are still showing and noticeable. Is there a way around this or should I calibrate stitching? Appreciate the feedback. Thanks
Hi Roberto. For the One X, the stitch line should be smooth beyond 5 feet or so. When you see the stitch line, is it because of objects that are at the stitch line and are less than 5 feet from the camera? If so, that's pretty normal. Or are the objects far away and you're still seeing the stitch line? (BTW the best long term strategy is to avoid putting anything important near the stitch line. )

Great tutorial for a great camera. It's too bad its battery life is so short and that you can't see the LCD in bright light !
Thanks bry94360! Yes the battery life is kind of short so I recommend getting a spare battery and the external charger. Re LCD yes it's hard to read in bright light, so what I do is just look at the LED lights below it. When the LED is flashing, then i know it's recording :D. It also flashes once when I take a photo so i know when the photo was taken after a self timer :D

Hi hasoevo. If you use Android, yes it is possible for some mp4 videos. On iOS, no it is not possible.

Dilemna...z1 Theta or 3d 180 Insta360 evo...I could shoot 3d 180 real estate tours with the evo, which I think are way more impressive than std 360 still tours, but consumers consider 3d too much trouble to watch. It would still be nice to have the option.
Is the z1 noticeably better at std 360 stills than the evo for real estate? Considering video tours, is the evo noticeably better than the z1 in low light? Which would u buy, money not an object? Thx
I can empathize because i myself love 3d 360 and vr180 as well. But right now, there is not much client demand for 3d 360 or vr180. So if you are buying for virtual tours, z1 is better, unless you want to focus on 3d as a niche.
Yes Z1 is way better for photos.
For video tours, evo is better.

Hi William. Congratulations in advance. I think your Mac should be able to stitch the videos in full resolution. My only concern is that your Mac might take a while to stitch the videos. Hey Mic, been using the android app, and noticed recently i can't work with mp4 videos (app will crash when exporting). Even when using insta 360 studio, the editing only works with .insv formats. Any recommendations on other apps that has the same capabilities as the insta 360 app?

@@360vroomers i'm currently using the gear 360 2017 and was editing videos using the 360onex app. Really liked the insta360 app for its ease of use. Pity it doesn't work anymore :( just checked out collect360, id say is not as intuitive as the insta360 app. Will try some videos and see
@@Eeessz another alternative to collect is V360 but it cant do overcapture i think. Veer editor is another alternative although it is a bit buggy.

I don’t understand. What difference does the front and back camera make if it is recording both cameras. Why turn the camera around?
Hi Michael. When you use the direction lock, then the view will face the "front" of the camera. It is a way to control direction without having to use keyframing. I hope that makes sense.
Does it take pictures and video at the same time?
No, but you can extract photos (360 or non360) from its videos. 😀

Hi Siddharth. Yes One X does require stitching. For 5.7K videos, each video has two files (front lens and rear lens). Do not separate them, rename them, or delete them. Keep them in the same folder. When you open one of the files in insta360 studio or premiere, it will automatically find the other file.
@@360vroomers Thanks....does this(manual stitching) apply even when we use the mobile app for One X for reframing & exporting. Anyways I am glad i bought MAX....yes it has few shortcomings but the audio, protective lens cover & waterproofing worked out for me. Lets hope GoPro provides some higher frame rates in future.
@@sidvideos congrats on the max! For one x, if you reframe on mobile or desktop, then you dont need to stitch beforehand. Instead, when it renders the reframed video, it stitches the video as needed. That is true for max app as well The difference is that with one x, you can edit in premiere immediately with no stitching. It will look like it is stitched and stabilized, like the app.

There is a lot of hype. can that app do it, or will the txt warp. btw the camera was ordered yesterday so don't have it yet. I am starting to think that the editing tool will be unable to simply add text. it's no good getting a great 360 unless in this case it is fairly simple edit it and edit it well! after all consumers want output.. doesn't make much sense if simple editing by adding text to a video can be done by doing a lot of shit!! Sorry just airing my frustrating after seeing a few tutes and listening to umm ' download free go pro virb app' . I go oh no I have to read all this stuff. @@360vroomers I will use the 360 one x app to edit the footage from the one x camera. It seems though that I have to use GO PRO VIRB EDIT to edit text without warping.. I now can't find that you to step by step blog It seems that the developers of the 360 one x failed to even get that very basic need in their app. So disappointed with that. Also you cannot see screens in daylight on the one x camera. when I enquired they said it was not going to be done. I also just feel the editing tool is got some good stuff.. but focus has not been on the customer.. we do want to see screens and we care about outputs.. what us created. I think it us a good thing to air my concerns. More Insta360 one x camera owners need to both write and support what I have said and email insta360 one x too . Nothing happens otherwise.
@@pragmatist165 hi Terry. Yes Garmin Virb Edit is the best free 360 editing desktop software. Re Insta360 studio, its primary purpose is stitching not editing. So for example when you buy a DSLR they will not give you Photoshop. They might give you trial software thats all. Insta360 Studio is similar - it has editing for freecapture but it is not intended as an editor. Pls let me know if you have any questions

For safety reason, the rides' people should not have allowed you or anyone to bring along a selfie stick. If that stick slips your hand, it's a projectile. As much as I respect your enthusiasm for showing us these these tips and tricks, I think you are irresponsible for bringing the stick onto these rides, particularly the roller coasters.
