One of the biggest mysteries in punk rock music is Sid Vicious. On February 2nd, 1979, Sex Pistols bassist, Sid Vicious was found dead in New York City. This was less than four months after the death of girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. The couple was a punk rock Romeo and Juliet, but their love story was tainted with drug addiction. Their relationship led to the break up of Sex Pistols and the death of Spungen in a New York City hotel during a party. While we'll never know exactly what happened in that hotel room, Vicious was accused of the murder. He was arrested, bailed out, and then returned to prison for assaulting a man, but just 55 days later he was released and his "release party" would ultimately lead to his death. His own mother threw the party and gave him the drugs that ended his life. Is his mother responsible? Did Vicious have a suicide pact? We investigate on Music's Greatest Mysteries. Yes technically no knife was found in the bathroom but a knife that police believed to be the knife used was found on top of a suitcase that was standing up & propped against the wall in the room not too far from the bathroom!...

I'm not sure if it was an accident on the night, but what was so scary was she died with a needle in her arm, 1996 during pistols comeback tour.

Had Sid lived, I think he would have enjoyed a good bit part of the 80's but by 2010's, he would have gotten a lot of backlash from his antics in the 70's. So he pretty much bailed out early.
Sid was on heroin when he was 15, long before the sex pistols.
It's a story that's happened many times, he had detoxed in jail and the first thing he wanted to do was shoot up. He had a bad first shot and they hid it from him but eventually he wanted another. His Mom made the next one, she had most likely already did hers, being a complete idiot junkie or something else we'll never know but it killed him. Janis Joplin did the same thing, what she was used to, after detoxing for over a month you can't do that it suppresses your respiratory system. Just like in today's time with the fentanyl, that shit outside a hospital setting your luck will run out. I've had fentanyl, it makes me sicker than a dog, there is absolutely no fun in that high!
A friend of Janis Joplin's once said that she didn't intend to kill herself, that she wasn't the type. That she did drugs that night at a hotel, and in a haze, tripped over the thick shag carpet, fell, and her nose was pushed up into her skull. That kills a person instantly!

I've got a huge sex pistols collection, 250 items met John and Glen, sid was an interesting guy, articulate at times in the interview shame he lived up to the image in the end, suds mum bought a house in Swadlincote only 2 hours away from where I live. Sorry meant sid oops sure sid would forgive me, he was a basic on bass but did have a great singing voice.first single I had was cmon everybody, I'm not sure what happened that night, but sid could have be an innocent man ?
I think Punk was more aligned with disco music and more a counter to Ultra Progressive Rock and soft rock. Maybe I'm wrong but they had disco music in the Great Rock and Roll Swindle and it was Rad. Sid was meant to be a front man. If heroin would not have ruined him, I think he would have made Never Mind The Bollocks Part 2 😊
