Thirty years after the war turned the world into a wasteland, a lone warrior named Eli (Denzel Washington) marches across the ruined landscape, carrying hope for humanity's redemption. A gem of a movie.^It gives the lone warrior trope a nice twist,a divine twist w/o being preachy.A man that is a warrior,Gods warrior who walks a peaceful route & is blind & has remorse for killing his enemies but knows he has to do what is needed to carry on.Good stuff.^

I have a theory..... only reason he got shot is because chose not to listen to God by letting someone else touch the book... he lost faith. That's why lightning struck when he got shot.

Yeah they did a really good job of hiding the fact that he was blind but if u look closely at his behavior in different scenes, and some of his dialogue, it becomes clear as day. But u don’t really pick it up on first watch. Like him always mentioning smell, his distinct hearing, how he never looks anyone in the face, he just kind of glances in the direction of their voice. The scene wear he find the dead body, he never looked up to identify, he just touched around the feet to feel for shoes. Just subtle but not so subtle clues.

Denzel Washington is blind throughout the entire movie.
There was "The Flash" 30 years earlier. Any who survived were blinded by The Flash that is why the Bible was in braille.
Dude, there are multiple indications he is blind throughout the movie,
Eg: When the old couple living in the middle of nowhere asked them why didn't they read their sign, "Absolutely No Trespassing", Denzel answered back, "No I didn't SEE it", that is because he can't see & Solara can't read as she was born after The Flash, there are more examples but I'll let you find them if you want to that is.
