      @@JideaniSayz I use an AZIO KB505U Keyboard (backlit 3 color options) I love it the reason I found your video was because I was trying to figure out how to get the email button to work, every other "hotkey" at the top of the keyboard works EXCEPT the email button. (no big deal I have had my keyboard for over 1 year and have never used it) nor do I normally use any of the hotkey buttons at the top but it was annoying when I discovered that every hotkey button works EXCEPT the email button, lol

    • @JideaniSayz
      @JideaniSayz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol I get what you mean. I think you'll probably need to download the Azio's software in order to configure that specific Hotkey since email buttons will need to map to your personal email account. . But like you, I would assume the button by default would map to your native email application, even if that email requires set up. Well, you've made it past the 1 year mark at least with no issues so cheers to that 🍻

  • @alphafiddlesticks5623
    @alphafiddlesticks5623 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's really nice! However, there are some issues present some folks are saying that the letters on the keys wear out around the 10 months - 1 year mark. Is that the case with yours?

    • @JideaniSayz
      @JideaniSayz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohhhh. You know I can see that. It's too expensive to have that issue. I didn't experience that because I didn't hold on to it that long. Do you like everything else about it?

      @alphafiddlesticks5623 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was a great video. My ONLY hesitation is the typewriter sound. But honestly, I'm sitting here tapping this out on my Logitech, and it's pretty noisy. So... THINKING about it. Thank you!! YES, more fun stuff like this. You went through things very thoroughly, thoughtfully and with a sense of humor.

    I just bought mine and I actually paid for overnight shipping. Anyone thinking of getting this in AUGUST 2020, go through the azio website. It's 25% your whole purchase so you can get this keyboard and the wrist guard and 2 day shipping for the same price as just buying the keyboard ALONE on Amazon right now.

    • @JideaniSayz
      @JideaniSayz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a heck of a deal because I know the price point was the only achilles heel of this keyboard.

      It would work with any Bluetooth capable device. 🙂

    Dug a little deeper - the keys faces start fading as soon as 3 months in. It uses a custom switch that is indeed made by Kailh... but does not have an MX stem, instead utilizes a proprietary stem... seriously? On a $220 keyboard?
    Edit: I appreciated the video BTW. This keyboard looks phenomenal, unfortunately its another case of form over function / style over substance.

    • @DiamondDustVIII
      @DiamondDustVIII 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had one of these for a year, but the wired version, not the bluetooth one. Hard use, at the office 9, 10+ hours a day. ONE key has the face fading some. The rest of the thing works flawlessly still. And seriously...if you're looking at your keys, you're losing at whatever you're doing.

    • @dapperstache7747
      @dapperstache7747 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DiamondDustVIII On the first point, fair enough. On the second point - it's a showpiece. There's zero reason to buy this other than for aesthetic, especially considering there are far better boards with far better (and more readily replaceable) switches on the market for far less. That being said, the idea of purchasing a wired one is growing on me. Not sold yet though.

    • @DiamondDustVIII
      @DiamondDustVIII 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dapperstache7747 Yes it is a showpiece, I will give you that. Half the reason I bought the thing was because it was utterly gorgeous. I fell in love with it after I bought it and had used it for a few weeks, though. It just feels SO good, especially for what I do at work, which is a lot of typing and 10-key stuff.

    Most beautiful? From a distance, maybe...kind of like a Vegas stripper. It's not that I dislike this keyboard, but it's definitely tailored to Gen Z and to some extent the Gen Z "lite" Millennials that came before them. As a generation, they're all flash over substance and in this regard, this keyboard delivers. It's nice enough looking, but you get past the faux good looks (which I'm sure had the self-appointed influencers and gurus and mavens and disruptors putting down their eye liner TikTok vids for 15 minutes or so) and what you end up with is kind of a plastic box with some metal trim that gives it some heft. I'm on a MAC, and the aluminum MAC keyboard has it all over this in terms of heft and feel and build, though I was looking for the feel/touch of a mechanical keyboard and this delivers, albeit from keycaps that seem to come off a Fisher Price toy. What gives this weight is the metal trim. I guess I'll keep it, but I expected a lot more.

      Okay, Boomer. Google what old typewriters looked like. Many made this look downright conservative. The typewriter Larry McMurtry wrote Lonesome Dove on had SEA FOAM GREEN keys. The world wasn't always dull black, grey, and white. Similar to how cars used to have flashy colors but now they all look dull AF.

      Just so I would avoid the situation I am currently in I was a big fan I really liked the keyboard I talked it up to everyone I could.
      But to be obsolete and unusual in less than 2 years is it indication that the entire company won't be around very long.

    • @JideaniSayz

      2 years is a very short time for a product. See that's the thing, when we content creators do these reviews longevity is a gamble we can't speak on because obviously we don't keep most of the products. If it's something I purchase for myself personally it's different. Also a good tip for future purchases would be to read reviews from Amazon sites about products from people who had them for some time, I know that doesn't help your case right now though.
