theres so much important inf o missing from this even as a quick skim over. while you did touch on the point of the railway, it was an experiment, the government was looking for some small gauges for use in places like forts and explosive factories while Heywood was already looking for practical uses, "minimum gauge" which comes from something like "the minimum gauge which can be practically and commercially viable" he hated the idea of little trains being just a tourist attraction for passengers, he wanted to find what could do useful freight work, pulling trains of loads up steeps grades and tight curves, finding the right balance between gauge, power and centre of balance. secondly the railway did carry passengers other than family, it had annual open days. the main reason why it all failed was because the government quickly chose 18 inch gauge instead, which can be seen in the success of the massive network of the Woolwich Arsenal

thanks for your added information SDE, this is definitely an interesting topic, I can see why he wanted toexplore more practical use cases for it.

Hey! I really appreciate your comment and don’t take any offense at all. I’m halfway through my senior year of college right now so it is a little difficult to work on videos, but I just finished recording the audio for the next one! I do plan to continue making these as a hobby and im happy to hear that you enjoy it!
