So glad you’re still producing such quality content, your videos are what inspired me to put together my own regulated IR ratting rig. Lamping was fun but night visions been a game changer! Cheers from Texas
I recently bought one of the new Lynx 2.0 thermal spotters and it’s quickly become an almost essential piece of kit. Whilst most might thing of it as a nocturnal thing, I can honestly say mine gets just as much use during the day. It is a fantastic tool for spotting squirrels and has done a terrific job of revealing pheasants in the undergrowth. It has also revealed something I never would have imagined...The fact the bees visit flowers at night!
The Lynx spotter is a great piece of kit and the stuff it reveals can be quite amazing. Like you, I'm also finding thermal more and more useful by day. Thanks for watching. Mat
Loving the longer episodes Mat. One thing that keeps cropping up on ratting pages on social media is "what I/R to use " ?. That's the one thing you didn't mention in your kit run down. So, what were you using, and was it 850 or 940nm ?. Cheers buddy, and keep up the good work. 🙂
Another good video, keep them coming 👍 I’m currently looking at buying an RM8 as my 1st pcp so I’ve been watching an reading everything to do with them to see the pros and cons. I heard you feel like giving that scope away since it’s Black Friday, where do I send my postal address to? lol 😂😂😂😂😂
I think the RM8 would make a great first PCP - it's tough, accurate and reliable. Afraid I can't help you with the scope though, but nice try. Thanks for watching. Mat
that ir torch is nearly as big as the scope, and i see when you cock the bolt you push it forward with a bit of authority and i know the rotex are a bit finicky with the magazines and indexing, ive had one and sold it because of that,,good vid,👍
Yes, the Wicked Light is made for longer range shooting than farmyard ratting, but it does the job well enough with the power turned down a bit. You do have to be positive with the RM8 bolt but I have never had any problems with it. Been using it for a few years and it is reliable and pellet'friendly. Thanks for watching. Mat
Hi Mat, any news on the new Hikmicro day/night scope specifically for air gunners? Some channels went on a a visit to China and had a preview, but I’ve not heard anything since. Waiting on it before I buy a Huntsman Revere.
Mat would you rather have the RM8! Or REXIMEX LYRA K22. OR. Kral o2 . If thinking of buying a pcp . Can you give me some advice? Cheers bud regards😊😊👍👍
That's a tough call. All very good. I am very fond of the RM8 - and my UC has given a few years of very good service now - but I was also very impressed with the Lyra K when I tested it very recently. Thanks for watching. Mat
Hi Mat, recently bought an rm8 in .177. Found I got around 90 shots ( regulated ) before performance really dipped, wondering if you've noticed how many shots you have got from yours as umarex boast 150-160 shots?? Kind regards Chris
I always ask the landowner how they would like them disposed of. On most farms, they end up on a fire site or in the slurry pit. Thanks for watching. Mat
If you're referring to the large illuminator, it's simply because that's the one I have and I use it for much more than just airgun shooting. It still works perfectly well at close quarters when set on lower output. Thanks for watching. Mat
A stoat could well make them skittish. These were pretty bold because I hadn't shot that area for a while - they are starting to wise up now. Thanks for watching. Mat

Glad you like it - and glad you're having a good time with your own shooting.
Thanks for tuning in. Mat

Good work Matt, always a pleasure 👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Cheers. Mat
Great shooting and footage Mat.The Rotex seems a very dependable piece of kit.
👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, the Rotex is a really solid gun. Mine has given years of good service.
All the best. Mat
Great content Mat. I have just ordered an Alpex 4k lrf and paired it with a Weihrauch HW100S FAC. I think this will be an awesome Squirrel machine.
Sounds brilliant.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Good night ratty sleep well. Thanks mat for another great upload!!❤
Thanks for watching.
Great content sir, well covered

850nm - and in this instance it's a Wicked Light.
Thanks for watching. Mat

Nice
Mat if you can get a hold of a dnt thermnight 225 it's an absolute game changer for airgun ratting, flicking between nv and thermal
Yeah but it still means having to be waving the gun around scanning which can be tiring rather than thermal spotter
We will be featuring the DNT Thermnight very soon.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Hi Matt, not sure of I missed it in the video, but what IR are you using, it looks a beast?
It's a Wicked Light. Capable of much more than ratting ranges, but still great around the farm with power turned down.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Hi Mat
What make is the illuminator you have on the Hikmicro?
Great video

What gloves are you using? My hands are getting rather nippy when im out on the rats an rabbits.
Like. Your. Targeting🌷
I use a coaster on my Alpex and Stella, easier to focus.
Mat why you are so heavy handed with the cocking bolt ?.
Another great show full of good information. Mat are the Pod casts still part of the line up
Thanks for the kind words - glad you like it.
Funny you should ask, we are hoping to add a podcast to the lineup in the new year.
All the best. Mat

No update on that yet, I'm afraid.

@@airgunextra Thanks mat for feed back cheers 👍👍
What is the lamp your using
One question if you've got night vision scope why do you use what seems to be a torch
Mat, so are the Airgun show and Airgun world podcast dead?
I have no idea. They are not owned by me.
Thanks for watching. Mat
...EXCELLENT!!!😀
Thanks for tuning in. Mat
This looks like fun ,what are the legal requirements to own such a weapon
Hi Mat, recently bought an rm8 in .177. Found I got around 90 shots ( regulated ) before performance really dipped, wondering if you've noticed how many shots you have got from yours as umarex boast 150-160 shots?? Kind regards Chris
Which thermal are you using there? Is it the FH or FQ. I'm looking to upgrade from my LH15 2.0. for rats and rabbits. Cheers 👍
I'm using the LH25 2.0.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Newbee here just wondering what do you do with the bodies of the rats???
Slow cooker, marinaded garlic & honey 👍
I always ask the landowner how they would like them disposed of. On most farms, they end up on a fire site or in the slurry pit.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Which torch are you using?
It's a Wicked Light. A bit big for airgun use but still does the job.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Sangat bagus...🎉🎉
Thank you for watching.
All the best. Mat
This is the case when the sight is 10 times more expensive than a rifle 😆
The Alpex 4K doesn't cost much more than a decent PCP - and certainly not 10x as much.
Thanks for watching. Mat
@@airgunextra I was comparing prices in my country. Thanks for cool videos.
That's an extraordinary amount of ironmongery on top. In this day and age, why ?
If you're referring to the large illuminator, it's simply because that's the one I have and I use it for much more than just airgun shooting. It still works perfectly well at close quarters when set on lower output.

For now he just wants to get on with it. 😂😂😂😂😂 Unbelievable 😂😂😂😂😂
The rats are not on edge like mine, but that mite be because they were visited by a stote.
A stoat could well make them skittish. These were pretty bold because I hadn't shot that area for a while - they are starting to wise up now.
Thanks for watching. Mat
You don't need to keep putting your gun on safety man...I know you are just doing that for the video but it's pretty cheesy 😂
Weniger Laberei. Weniger Bilder vom Schützen wäre schön.
Alpha Wolf .... Head Turner? Yeah turn your head away! So so ugly!
it is also way outside the price that most pensioners can even dream of
