I went to trade school but didn't get anywhere, tried college which I dropped out and then tried to take certification courses but life introduced every single type of drama from family pressure to hurry up and get somewhere because I was 25, friends suddenly turning on me and abandoning me for spiralling downward from all the pressure, sister's not letting me interact with the family pets to have comfort the family dog being a Rottweiler didn't like it and would play bite leading to injuries and the cockatiel only wanted to be let out or would bite me. I wanted to scream or hope for an animal to attack me so I could fight it or another human being, or just let me pet the animal while talking to it.
Careful on that. It’s actually a lot of schooling, a lot of work and later on more competitive than people realize. Obviously there’s money to be made but it’s not as simple an industry as South Park is satirizing.

The issue is that the trades that are considered 'easy' (home and commercial, not industrial, HVAC; electrician, etc) are usually competitive fields. Last I heard from my stepdad working for the local union, work there is going for 70 bucks an hour. Its insane, but you have to be willing to work in those fields.

On the topic of Collages being a waste of time. I wasted 2 of 3 years in college as a animation major. The course focused on mostly 3D animation while I wanted to work in 2D ( btw the college sold itself on teaching both which was not really true). While there I actually found a ton of resources and communities online where I could learn 2D animation. Got everything I needed. Left collage after that. Now I've actually worked official productions from home and I'm on track on joining one of the very few studios in my country that work on 2D projects. I'm not saying Collage is useless but it's not a necessity anymore
I was just getting ready to write a character in my upcoming story who wants to be a manga artist. She's in her first year of college and unhappy with the amount of time getting wasted studying modern art in her art classes, which she neither likes nor feels is relevant to her career goals. So she spends a lot of time online self-learning (she's formerly homeschooled, so this is natural for her). While I was prepping to write this story, I was watching a lot of vids by an author on plotting, the successful formula for every story, character development, etc. Someone in the comments mentioned she learned more from these free videos than she learned getting a BA in Creative Writing. And I paused, thinking back to all of my creative writing classes in college, and I was like yeah, she's right. No one taught us any of this stuff.

So I just started doing things myself and realized there is virtually nothing a handyman can do that I can’t do myself with like a manual, TH-cam and a little effort. The second problem is they don’t give enough resources to help students get apprenticeships and internships when they finish. To many just shove them out the door and say “good luck”. I always say if you are doing post-secondary do your research, see the price, see how long the program is (is four years necessary or is can it be done in one or two?) and does it offer anything for employment placements or helps you in that regard. Also even though the show made fun of it none of those industries are going anywhere because of AI (I work and develop it so I know what's going on with it). So don’t be afraid to go for them, but you need to make sure your not overpaying for education.

You can be educated or experienced in any topic or field, and if you dont have the little slip of paper that says you underwent that training or education, you dont get traction. The one commentary that isn't the main one which I think is forgotten is how handymen are cleaning up in society because nobody knows how to do any fixing of anything. On top of that, nobody wants to be a handyman so the ones who are handymen are so busy that you can never find one unless your job is more lucrative for them than other ones. You have to sit around waiting until a handyman doesn't have anything else more lucrative lined up. It's a real problem that south park is satirizing with the situation on finding people with handyman skills in an age where everyone else got jobs that don't use those skills.

There are peeps online who are saying this didn't go hard enough because it only focused on Kennedy and didn't put more focus on Kevin Feige for Marvel and Bob Iger for Disney in general, with one or two specifically saying (rightfully so) that the general public doesn't actually know who Kennedy is so might not understand the reference as much as someone who does.
While college is a good place to get a higher education, I do agree that getting a useful degree, or attending trade's school, will actually help people more in life. We were trying to find someone to replace the grass on our front lawn and it took 6 months to find someone because every contractor was completely book for over a year and when we found a guy he said it would be 3 months before he had an opening. Didn't exactly end as a happy ending since Bob Igor was just humoring KK at the end, it seemed pretty evident he was still going to just pander on the cheap because well, this all started because of him. I went to trade school but didn't get anywhere, tried college which I dropped out and then tried to take certification courses but life introduced every single type of drama from family pressure to hurry up and get somewhere because I was 25, friends suddenly turning on me and abandoning me for spiralling downward from all the pressure, sister's not letting me interact with the family pets to have comfort the family dog being a Rottweiler didn't like it and would play bite leading to injuries and the cockatiel only wanted to be let out or would bite me. I wanted to scream or hope for an animal to attack me so I could fight it or another human being, or just let me pet the animal while talking to it.
Careful on that. It’s actually a lot of schooling, a lot of work and later on more competitive than people realize. Obviously there’s money to be made but it’s not as simple an industry as South Park is satirizing.

Last I heard from my stepdad working for the local union, work there is going for 70 bucks an hour. Its insane, but you have to be willing to work in those fields.

But if you need some specialist work done, you go to a surgeon or a medical specialist in that particular field, like how you would go to a contractor whose specializes In a particular type of work If you need a specific Type of home renovation

On the topic of Collages being a waste of time. I wasted 2 of 3 years in college as a animation major. The course focused on mostly 3D animation while I wanted to work in 2D ( btw the college sold itself on teaching both which was not really true).
While there I actually found a ton of resources and communities online where I could learn 2D animation. Got everything I needed. Left collage after that.
Now I've actually worked official productions from home and I'm on track on joining one of the very few studios in my country that work on 2D projects.
I'm not saying Collage is useless but it's not a necessity anymore
I was just getting ready to write a character in my upcoming story who wants to be a manga artist. She's in her first year of college and unhappy with the amount of time getting wasted studying modern art in her art classes, which she neither likes nor feels is relevant to her career goals. So she spends a lot of time online self-learning (she's formerly homeschooled, so this is natural for her).
While I was prepping to write this story, I was watching a lot of vids by an author on plotting, the successful formula for every story, character development, etc. Someone in the comments mentioned she learned more from these free videos than she learned getting a BA in Creative Writing. And I paused, thinking back to all of my creative writing classes in college, and I was like yeah, she's right. No one taught us any of this stuff.
It seems part of the of the problem is you chose a college that did not meet your needs.

The second problem is they don’t give enough resources to help students get apprenticeships and internships when they finish. To many just shove them out the door and say “good luck”. I always say if you are doing post-secondary do your research, see the price, see how long the program is (is four years necessary or is can it be done in one or two?) and does it offer anything for employment placements or helps you in that regard. Also even though the show made fun of it none of those industries are going anywhere because of AI (I work and develop it so I know what's going on with it). So don’t be afraid to go for them, but you need to make sure your not overpaying for education.

It was a realization i had during summer break in 6th grade. Credentials are the only thing anyone cares about. You can be educated or experienced in any topic or field, and if you dont have the little slip of paper that says you underwent that training or education, you dont get traction. Rarely will the world give you a chance if you cant prove someone else witnessed it
That came about because of how many scammers there were. It doesn't prevent all of them, but it helps a hell of a lot. It has just been so long since we have actually had that issue that noone remembers it.
I have credentials for an elite job I went to school for, but because I don’t yet have any work experience for that field, nobody will hire me. It’s not just the papers, it’s EXP as well.

But systemically, i feel, its more advantageous to know someone to vouch for you than to be accredited and credible of your own self

The one commentary that isn't the main one which I think is forgotten is how handymen are cleaning up in society because nobody knows how to do any fixing of anything. On top of that, nobody wants to be a handyman so the ones who are handymen are so busy that you can never find one unless your job is more lucrative for them than other ones. You have to sit around waiting until a handyman doesn't have anything else more lucrative lined up. It's a real problem that south park is satirizing with the situation on finding people with handyman skills in an age where everyone else got jobs that don't use those skills.

While college is a good place to get a higher education, I do agree that getting a useful degree, or attending trade's school, will actually help people more in life. Not only that, but it just seems that people have demonized crafts and public schools seem to have cut all the trade school classes like shop and metal works for "health and safety reasons."

Not always. The Tegridy Farm stuff is consistently awful. PC Principal is mostly awful. The ᴺᶦᵍᵍᵉʳ ᴳᵘʸ episode & biker episode directly contradict each other, & they had to make an episode taking back what they said about global warming because they realized they were wrong. Still, it's surprisingly near perfectly consistent their messages are, given how long the show has lasted.
I literally subscribed to this channel after watching this whole video for the reactions on this & the quality of the episode entirely.
