At 34:14 Nux talked about a Mormon that didn't know what Mormon's believe. I'm a Mormon and first started going at 14 years old, and within two months I learned the history of how it started, and they give me a list of the main truths they try to fallow. Back in the day our church was 3 hours long, first hour is sacrament and spiritual talks, second hour is Sunday school on the bible, Book of Mormon and more; and last hour we break up for meetings with different groups in the church. We stopped having meeting on Sundays making it 2 hours long. I think Nux friend is having a skill issue with his Mormon Skill tree.
Scientology: You should pay at least five million to have this taken down. Act now, before the word spreads even further. The more people talk about this, the fewer people who will buy into your religion.
Mormonology literally is so bad You have to respect that Christianity for the snake and apple story The fact that Joseph Smith was a con man was my first clue the whole thing was BS.
I actually remember when this episode was aired...just like the Mormon episode, it was hilarious, but I thought, "They are going to have a huge legal fight on their hands."
"If they charge you before telling you what it is, it's a scam." And what if they charge you after telling you what it is? "Then there's a good chance it's a well constructed scam..."
Omg, I had no idea about the "die of phnemonia" thing. I had a friend in High School who's family were Scientologists and I made fun of the religion because of South Park. The funniest part was I ended up getting phnemonia and having to leave the school to go live with family who were actually taking care of me (because at the time I was living with my dad and grandma and both refused to take me to the doctors). I wish I could have seen the look on his face when he realized I had phnemonia.
One thing I definitely did not expect when watching a Nuxtaku video was a reasonably competent elevator speech version of the Kuzari argument. 23:37 Well done, my friend!
One of my favorite parodies of Scientology is from the Dead Space series… which featured the Church of Unitology. A totally not inspired by real-world cult religion with massive power and influence that keeps its beliefs largely secret until a member provides significant support to the cult in the form of monetary donations or political influence. The Church, of course, makes everything worse in the game.
Honestly tho, Scientology sounds like the first ever real life roleplaying game with pay to win. You get more lore and a better character by spending more money
@themaxterz0169 Scientology term SP for Supressive Person to describe all people who have been declared by the church who they are not allowed to associate with. Former members who are declared SPs are completely cut off from all friends and family who are still in.
They absolutely have a mormon episode! It did so well that the creators of South Park made an entire musical called The Book of Mormon, which was super successful. You should definitely react to both!
There's been quite a few references to the Mormons over the years. Largely light hearted teasing. And then there's Cannibal: the Musical which goes into an obscure Mormon tale.
South Park's verdict on Mormonism seems to be: "It's weird even for a religion and their prophet was acting like a con man, but unlike most religions, Mormonism raises nice people, not assholes."
Let's compare Scientologists and Mormon's Scientologists: We're gonna Sue you!!!!! Mormon's: We're going to buy ads in your playbook about the Play and say "You've seen the Play, Now read the Book. The Book is always better."
I saw this episode when it first came out. I had heard about scientology frequently, but as mentioned, they didnt let anyone know what it actually was. I was floored by the information in this south park episode, I could easily dismiss it as exaggeration, except for the big flashing letters on the bottom of the screen "THIS IS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE"
It's all about sunk-cost with cults. They find vulnerable people and lull them into the belief that the cult can solve every woe the person has in their life, as long as they joing and help the cult. It may start in the small gestures, doing small favours or even small paid amounts, but it slowly increases and becomes more and more demanding. At some point, the person will be so deep into the cult that they have given them their entire life. And from then on they are lost.
The craziest thing is that Scientology used to be literally just a group of scientist who wanted to teach science and theory between religion and science and how they can coexist and then it turned into this bull
There was a church of Scientology right across the street to where we would perform our live nativities and there was some pretty creepy things they did while we were there. They’d just stare at us and pass around these weird doll things. It was freaky.
There is quite a considerable overlap between psychological and neurological drug therapy, especially during recovery. It's all about "specific targets" in pharmacology, and the "targets" being "aimed" at in psychological therapy for brain neurons are very much the same "targets" for all neurons through the body in Neurological therapy. Same cell "type", same cell "targets".

What's funnier is that the crappy scifi movie Battlefield Earth, starring John Travolta, is pretty much scientology's Passion of the Christ. The movie is beat for beat about their cults beliefs. So their actual beliefs were out there, without people realizing it, since 2000.
There's a channel on TH-cam called "scientology audit" who makes it his goal to basically sit outside the scientology building in L.A. and discourage people from entering. He also mildy gives shit to all the workers. It's a range of emotions funny, sad, angering.
24:27 Last I checked Moses was the one who communicated the Torah to the Israelites in the desert. There is always a necessity for trust in somebody in any religion.

Neurology and Psychiatry are not the same per se but they most definitely go hand in hand. Neurology is the study of brain structures, their functions and variations that produce mental disorders or disabilities (among MANY other things obviously). Psychiatry takes the knowledge that we have about brain structures, clinical psychology and brain chemistry to essentially alter the brain chemistry in order to provide a cure or treatment for an affliction. Damage caused to the brain by a stroke is something that Neurology studies, the treatment itself is psychiatric

We know the OT documents because of one guy that Scientology tried to sue over his NDA and leaving the organization. In retalition for bringing the lawsuit, he submitted _all_ of the OT documents as evidence. This screwed them royally. If they denied the documents were legit, then they would lose the lawsuit and commit perjury since his NDA didn't cover fake documents. If they amitted the documents were genuine, they win the lawsuit, but commit their OT documents (worth literally _Millions_ to access) to the Public Record. And that's why we know, for example, that the OT-VIII document calls Jesus a Pee-3D0. IIRC, Operation Clambake still has the original court documents available somewhere.

My ninth grade teacher used this exact episode to explain to me what Scientology was
That’s unfortunate, as a Mormon a lot of members grow up in the church not putting in effort to understand what they believe.
This is what I was going to say. Actually pay attention in classes instead of be on your phone. That stands for everything not just church
I mean... let's hope they don't believe any of that bullshit in the first place
Mormonology literally is so bad
You have to respect that Christianity for the snake and apple story
The fact that Joseph Smith was a con man was my first clue the whole thing was BS.
I actually remember when this episode was aired...just like the Mormon episode, it was hilarious, but I thought, "They are going to have a huge legal fight on their hands."
Nuxpentious finally posted 😢
AND THEN HE PULLED OUT HIS DEATH RAY
"If they charge you before telling you what it is, it's a scam."
And what if they charge you after telling you what it is?
"Then there's a good chance it's a well constructed scam..."
Yeah the Catholics literally make you give up 10% of your income as a mandatory tithe for all followers of the church.
Love the animations man, great avatar.
Scientology is just an expansive MLM.
Fun fact: the KKK was an MLM, it was tremendously profitable to see the white hoods and membership cards.
South Park also helped to cement the Streisand effect.
Also Nux, my Mom was wondering when you were coming home with the milk.
One thing I definitely did not expect when watching a Nuxtaku video was a reasonably competent elevator speech version of the Kuzari argument. 23:37
Well done, my friend!
The worst part about scientology, is that it starts as a pretty believable premise, but they kept adding details that make it completely stupid.
I have been spying on Nux THIS ENTIRE TIME! He has no idea I'm lurking behind the poster on his wall! .... I'm very skinny.
Found waldo
Honestly tho, Scientology sounds like the first ever real life roleplaying game with pay to win. You get more lore and a better character by spending more money
It would be funny to see Nux react to that one banned Mormon cartoon. It is too comical
The fact that one of their beliefs is practically a Boondocks episode is wild.
Nuxanor just got labeled as an "SP" by Scientology.
I'm an SP myself, you get super powers from it, it's neat.
Tf is an SP
@@themaxterz0169 Supressive Person. Essentially an enemy of the church of scientology.
@themaxterz0169 Scientology term SP for Supressive Person to describe all people who have been declared by the church who they are not allowed to associate with. Former members who are declared SPs are completely cut off from all friends and family who are still in.
@@tinkercat8268 Precisely
They absolutely have a mormon episode! It did so well that the creators of South Park made an entire musical called The Book of Mormon, which was super successful. You should definitely react to both!
There's been quite a few references to the Mormons over the years. Largely light hearted teasing. And then there's Cannibal: the Musical which goes into an obscure Mormon tale.
South Park's verdict on Mormonism seems to be: "It's weird even for a religion and their prophet was acting like a con man, but unlike most religions, Mormonism raises nice people, not assholes."
Let's compare Scientologists and Mormon's
Scientologists: We're gonna Sue you!!!!!
Mormon's: We're going to buy ads in your playbook about the Play and say "You've seen the Play, Now read the Book. The Book is always better."
Want a wild story. Look into Hubbard's life. From sex magic with Parsons to cruise ship voyages where he would have his followers search for gold.
One of my favorite flash animations that was made years ago called "You Are A Fucking Moron" (or YAAFM) roasts Scientology so hard. xD
Nux- "You wanna join a religion where the guy's name is L?"
Death Note Fans: 😳🤐
Dame even the f joker won’t take on the irs
The ironic part is that I got an ad for scientology before I clicked on this video
26:35 it gets worse Nux, they have ads for it on TH-cam or atleast I've seen them no more than a week ago.
Hearing the comment at 41:12 about there sarcastically being no backlash, then seeing how much of the video is left
They have a whole 2 hour Broadway musical about Mormonism. It’s amazing 😂
I've gone down the Nuxanor rabbit hole today, and I have to say, you're pretty based. Subbed.
South Park, Hitman WOA and youtubers in 2024 all combined showed me that nobody is in literal or figurative sense is untouchable
28:30 Henceforth known as Stan’s stans.
40:50 Best credits joke ever.
Nux is the troll we deserve. He sits on the bridge of truth. He lets you pass and gain the knowledge you seek. The only thing he asks is that you open your eyes.
Nux we all love you.
Don't evangelize.
This sort of talk ends up with cutting out your spleen and swinging it around in religious zealotry.
I remember watching the episode where chef dies before knowing about the drama and just thinking “that seemed personal” 😂😂
And then there's the Mormon episodes. And Satan's series long arc. 😂
What's funnier is that the crappy scifi movie Battlefield Earth, starring John Travolta, is pretty much scientology's Passion of the Christ. The movie is beat for beat about their cults beliefs. So their actual beliefs were out there, without people realizing it, since 2000.
52:34 pretty sure that’s the gundam unicorn soundtrack, or at least Hiroyuki Sawano
Ive already watched this video this week but Im watching it again for Nux :)
1:21:35 Blooms also said Psychotropics which are used to help cognitive recovery after a stroke.
There's a channel on TH-cam called "scientology audit" who makes it his goal to basically sit outside the scientology building in L.A. and discourage people from entering. He also mildy gives shit to all the workers. It's a range of emotions funny, sad, angering.
24:27
Last I checked Moses was the one who communicated the Torah to the Israelites in the desert.
There is always a necessity for trust in somebody in any religion.
In any organisation actually
Trust is a part of human relationships
The isaac hayes thing has to be bullshit. How in hell wouldn't Trey and Matt not know their employee had a stroke and didnt quit. That BS.
Analogy, South Park took off the goggles of a disgusting person and revealed how far apart their eyes are, the rest of the criticism stripped them naked
Scientology?
More like....
SCAMotology....
AM I RIGHT???? 😂
Boo. Into the closet with you. And take a like while you're at it
"I grinded my depression free-to-play." Lmaoooooo!!!!
Had they stay chill, the Streisend effect would not have taken hold nearly as much and they most likely wouldbhave rode that wave unscatted.
Man when did you get so many subscribers I come back after a while and getting a new channel and you are in the up and up with two channels, I am glad to see it. Sarcastic Anime trailer 69 when?
Now take out Jehovah’s Witnesses, they took my grandpa from us!
i love the fact that years after all this, they kept the gag in the south park games like stick of truth
Hey Nux, if you got back far enough on any timeline, ALL RELIGIONS start with just one guy.
Still never as powerful as the “church” of Billy
Nux being super adamant n sus about “not incriminating himself”….n then a lot of the crazy stuff nux says , (yes I know he just be joking😂)…i swear, this man has bodies hidden somewhere, or at least, knows where SOME BODIES r hidden 😂
15:55 Astrology falls under the same category as the name would suggest "the study of stars" when in actuality, it's a bunch of useless mumbo-jumbo.
Astrology is at least based on something that was believed at some point. Scientology doesn’t even have that defense.
i think astronomy was the word you were looking for cause astrology is actually useful
@@randoman9122 no, it's Astrology.

Coz there very interesting to learn about and spreading the word is good 👍🏻
The R Kelly gag is because of his song series "Trapped in the Closet" he sang a song about hiding from a cheated on spouse it's good and horrible and they're riffing on the story.
John Travolta made a terrible science fiction movie attempting to discredit psychiatry, he was also a scientologist.
The best follow up to this video is Whang's video about 4channers memeing on Scientology following this very episode. The footage of a bunch of weebs in Anonymous masks Caramell Dansen infront of Scientology buildings. The fall of Scientology was smeared in shit. And boy was it fuckin funny.
My favorite fictional religion has but two rules. 1) try to do more good than harm in your lifetime. 2) spend 15-30 minutes every day self reflecting and thinking about how you should go about solving your problems.
If you really want your stomach to turn the latest stories about Scientology is about Danny Masterson and the connection to the church is a major reason his trial has been delayed and potential tampering with his trial. Also I remember watching a lot about the church back during project Chanology and videos from Mark Bunker who covered the corruption in the church from around the late 90s.
The Chef/ Scientology episode was when I stopped looking at South Park as just some dumb cartoon parody but as actual political commentary.
