I was stunned by Tumbbad... I remember no one knew about the trailer that had me in awe...If you haven't watched an A1 Indian movie in a while give it a try... you can't be disappointed. Period.
I'm Bangladeshi, I've seen a couple of films on that list but I can say without any doubt that Tumbaad was a masterpiece. It deserved international awards.

The creators of the films themselves have told that they taken inspiration from this and also Rashomon (1950). Almost any movie you take, similar concept would be available in some other movies as well. Also, you got to know about the Japanese novel because of the movie Drishyam. Although you praised the movie in your first line, the second line clearly gave away your intention.

I just watched tumbbad and realised that Indian cenema has potential , so I came to TH-cam searching for the top 10 indian movies and I saw tumbbad on number 1, well I feel satisfied now
I have watched both tumbad and ratsasan. Tumbad is a masterpiece movie but feels bored at some phases but ratsasan is a Rollercoaster didn't get bored for even 1 Second. That was its screenplay and story🔥

I am from Portugal and i lived in Goa for 7 years, i can speak hindi as well and i watch hindi movies but they are so boring. Bahubali for me was best movie out of india until i saw this video and checked out Game over & Tumbadd. Now I’m recommending Tumbadd to all my colleagues and friends and they absolutely love it. Although i need to watch Super Deluxe as i have been hearing a lot about this movie and the reviews and WOM prove that it' should definitely be watched!!
Apart from that, i loved all the movies in the list and Tumbbad very rightly deserves the top spot as i was amazed and stunned with what they did with a mere 10 or 12 crore budget(maybe). To just think of the fact that the movie was stuck for a release for as long as 6 years is deeply saddening. The film should have had a better BO result but nonetheless it will always remain a masterpiece and will turn out be a cult classic in the coming years.. Mark my words!!
Some of the facts that u misunderstood are
1. It's a 5 crore budget movie only
2. It's not postponed for 6 yrs to release due to the budget issue.
3. Crew itself shooted 6 yrs to complete the movie for the weather to b the same in that Village as per the story.
4. They shooted 4 monsoons in that Village to use the rain. Trivia has been given in the movie info..
This much effect taken to bring some life to the movie from other movies and it won't fit in any genre. One of the Movies for history that's it.. I searched in Google and got to know some of the things about this movie which is unbelievable..

Game Over and Trapped are 2 genuinely underrated films. Trapped was where Rajkummar Rao truly defined his acting and Game Over had a absolutely Brilliant Climax.
