Essence has a sister brand, Catrice, that has so many more products available to you than we can get in the US and I would love to see you try those. Also, the Essence bronzer that is super popular is the large matte one.
Not every Essence product is amazing, but I think they're much more consistent than something like Revolution. While the packaging sometimes feels "cheap", the formulas themselves rarely do imo. I ADORE the catrice 24h liquid eyeliner, the waterproof one. I ADORE IT! Also Catrcie Glow Lover highlighter is a nice powder highlight and the shine control powder. From Essence I love Make me brow, the color I have is my perfect match too.
You might be able to get it on the American Amazon, like I did! I live in Europe and it shipped internationally! It's soooooo good and lives up to the hype, in my opinion!

Especially here in Germany, essence its absolute top tier drugstore makeup. Cheap and such good quality especially their liquid eyeliner is my holy grail. Essence "+ catrice is all i use
When i started using make up as a tween i always bought the waterproof black liquid eyeliner and used it for years. When i was able to afford more expensive make up i moved on but then i found myself buying the essence one again for a laugh and .. now it is my favourite again!! I am very picky and quite snobby with my make up. But this eyeliner is really good for this price. (Example: I had a dior one once that was so so bad i actually returned it).
essence is and has been such a staple for like 20 years here in germany where the brand is from, i think. their branding is very teen but nobody in my friend group (late 20s and 30s) cares about that lol it's always "i think essence has that but in cheaper and decent quality"!! except foundation but that's always a struggle in the drugstore
Yep, as someone from the Netherlands I can confirm that Essence is a staple for everyone, even if you have expensive makeup too you'll probably still have some Essence eyeshadows, brow product or eyeliners. I personally really really like their liquid eyeliners. I do get more expensive foundation though because I find their foundations and concealers to generally be not the best quality (though I very much appreciate that they do keep us deathly pale people in mind).

This is the brand any broke person needing make up has tried at least once in their life 😀 Products I am loving: lip oils, sheer lip gloss (it is not sticky and looks great!), the camouflage concealer (yes, the one you chose not to try 😂), the peachy powder, and then nail oil ( off topic, but so good!).
what’s nice about them too is that you can be experimental. since they’re inexpensive, it’s not too much of a loss if any of their products don’t work. and i love the nail oil too!

Videos like this remind me that in the 90s I had Cover Girl Clean foundation, bronzing beads from the Body shop, Maybelline Great Lash and a horrible kohl pencil I had to set fire to, and I made it work. Kids these days are blessed.
I'm always coming back to Essence products! Even if I don't like them in the end, I don't feel as bad as when I bought something from an expensive brand that turned out unusable. I also don't like their foundations, but I'm using their Concealer, Mascara, Eye liners, Transparent Powder, Blush and Eyeshadows for years now.
Essence 'The Blush' in 'Bespoke' is my favourite one step makeup. For me it's the perfect blushy/ bronzy shade and looks good all over the face and on the eyes.

Oh god the packaging. I hate their clear brow gel packaging with a passion. What idiot decided to put a clear brow gel in a clear tube? The product itself is great for the price but it looks disgusting after like three uses.

My true love from essence is THIS banana powder. It’s my favorite setting posseder, I don’t use it to brighten up BUT ONLY to set and it’s magic! I’ve gone through 5 of them. I travel a lot and this is the only powder I take with me. It doesn’t look drying under my eyes and sets my foundation perfectly. No matter what I try I always go back to it. I’ve tried so many high end and affordable powders and this one is the one I could live with for the rest of my life ❤️

I am glad you enjoyed this brand. I grew up on Essence and later on Catrice (sisters). And I love most of the stuff they make. They are great for mascara, nail varnish, lipstics, bronzers... Brushes need a bit of use and natural oil from your skin and than they will work great :)
Essence eyeshadows and blushes are my OBSESSION. I had the "Hallo Berlin" pallet and those greens and gold shimmers just blew my mind! And the blush in the shade "beloved" is perfect for people with pale cold toned skin

As a teenager in love with makeup, Essence really came through for me as well as Catrice. Some of their special editions aren't the best in quality but the products that they have been selling for years like their mascaras, highlighters, lip liners etc. That's where the gold lies.
So glad you did this video cause tbh Essence on some products has always been surpassing. First of all in nail polish cause they do not cost basically and for someone who has always done tips on herself and nail arts like me, it’s better than paying 10€ for each nail polish. I get the awful pencil experience. I have blue/green eyes that are Exeter my delicate and watery and those pencils are like fire to my waterline. Also, they don’t leave pigment on. I wanna suggest you to try their brow soap, tbh I was surprised as hell! It’s like the Beauty bay one that we both love and I have your same type of brows. Very thick and bushy. I do not touch them, so mine and those wild one and it stays on pretty well for most of the day, I’d say a good 7 hours. I wanna suggest you their highlighters but the ones of special collections. For example, I got a ginger bread one two Christmas ago and it’s one of the best drugstore highlighters I have ever used. Same goes for the coffee collection months ago. Love you ❤️
I bought my first makeup from essence around 15 years ago! It was a small eyeshadow pallet called “hello Tokyo” with the most amazing shimmery black, silver and two shades of pink. Such a great affordable brand! The eyeshadows, lip/eyebrow products and the mascara’s are soooo good!
my favorite blending brush is from essence and i love it to death to this day! i've had it for like 13 years and it's still going strong! and the extreme shine lip glosses have been my favorite for just as long. i don't even know how many i've used, but the clear one is the shiniest gloss i've ever used.
Using essence makeup was like a rite of passage in my very working class girl’s school lol. I never found a foundation shade that worked for me- me and all of my Irish friends wore the same shade of orange 🫣(I’m Indian) but the mascaras are *so* good I still buy them. Some of their eyeshadows are also very good for what you pay for them.
I just want to say THANK YOU for always having captions on your videos!! I have terrible hearing, and captions make it so much easier and nicer to watch videos - it's a small thing that a lot of channels don't do, and I have huge respect and appreciation for any channel that takes the time to make their content more accessible 😌
Lash Princess is my go to all day every day. Essence shadows in general I have always enjoyed and I love the limited editions that that pop up all the time. I've had some divine duo-chrome shadows, which I adore.
I like some of their eye pencils, I didn't quite catch the one you used, but it is true that some of them feel "dried up" at first but after a bit of warming up on the hand beforehand they apply very smooth. Maybe try it with that one and see if it applies better? They stay all day for me too. Loved the video! I love essence, they were the first brand I started using when I got into makeup as a student and couldn't afford any more expensive makeup. Over a decade later and I still swear by Lash Princess and their Volume Stylist mascaras and will buy them over high end brands every time
Love love Essence, I had my brushes for yearsssssss. Not all products are good but with those prices one can definitely get something else and won’t be broken.
Great lash is 100% holy grail for ever..started doing makeup in 2000 and it was holy grail to the person who taught me makeup. And mine ever since. I've tried essence mascara and I was like whyyyy does everyone love this?

Essence Lash Princess Mascara is my all time fave. I don't even bother trying new stuff because it is hands down the best I've used, high end or drug store in the 30+ years I've been doing my makeup.
I’ve been using that mascara for yearssss. It’s such a great, affordable option. I’ll have to try the lipstick-I don’t like to spend a lot on lipstick because I wear it far less than gloss, but am super picky about texture. This one looks really nice. Edit: And the nude lip look is perfect on you! It’s one of my favorite looks to wear, too
I’d like to see how the products work over a better foundation because I feel like the foundation is just giving all the other products a bad canvas maybe.

@@deniece0821 - HI Deniece! It's not a tubing mascara (which I'd really love to try a good type of that type of mascara....any suggestions?) I use the green and black Lash Princess and it more of a defining and separating mascara. I do get some length but it doesn't really advertise itself as one....although it says that it's like false eyelashes (😂😂 - it's definitely not that level!) But it is a really good, trusty and cheap mascara. I always go back to it. Have a great Sunday! ❤

The Essence Pretty Natural Hydrating Foundation is really good. Not super hydrating, but a natural comfortable finish. And the Pure Nude highlighter is top notch.
My Essence favorites are: pure nude highlighter it is smooth and gives a lit from within natural glow, the banana powder, most of their brushes and their nail polish lines
Essence products are how I learned to do my own makeup so as soon as I got the notification, I had to click! I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this brand: One one hand I love many of their products and they are super affordable, on the other hand I hate the way they do business. The trouble with essence is that they come out with a new limited edition collection every couple months. I’m always scared to try their new products in case I like them, because they won’t be there for very long. It’s fine with eyeshadow palettes because it takes a while to use them up, but they also make LE primers, skincare, lip balms, mists, brushes, setting sprays… and the formulas aren’t consistent, so if you like the lip balm from collection A, there’s no guarantee that you will like the lip balm from collection B because the formula will (in most cases) be different. It seems so wasteful to throw away a nice formula after a few weeks because it isn’t trendy anymore, you know? It doesn’t help that every collection they come up with contains some form of gimmicky product that looks interesting but is actual junk. Just why? 🤦🏻♀️ Edit: sorry for the rant 😅
I'm so glad you tried Essence! I love the mascara!!! The matte bronzer in the big pan is good. The pure nude highlighter and pure nude sunlighter is bomb. The eyeliners are pretty decent too.
My friend who is a lipstick fiend HATES when I wear “dead lip” lol. I love when the lips almost blend in with your skin tone. I miss the days of foundation mouth in the 9th grade lol
I just went "oh no" when you showed which concealer you got 😅 They do one in the same packaging that's called healthy glow, and that one is much nicer! Also I have quite a lot of things from them including bronzers (luminous matte you can pry from my cold dead hands) and nothing has smelled bad, so maybe you got a bad bronzer?
honestly, essence is a lifesaver cause it's so affordable and good! i mostly use their eyeproducts cause i don't wear foundation and they are the best! here in finland essence has been around for about 8-10 years and all my friends also use it !
Products from essence I use the most are: Skin lovin' sensitive concealer. Has enough coverage and it's not matte drying. The banana powder works great. I only use it under my eyes, nose and chin. But that's because I have a dryer skin type and I always get a dry forehead after taking off makeup. The glow glow go higliter! Yes. It looks like wet skin. Skin after a moisturizer. The colour intensifying eyeshadow base. I recommend setting it first because it's quite sticky and can cause gripping of shadows. The Superfine eyeliner. It's a pain in the ass to remove but it's the only eyeliner I can use. The tiny tip eyebrow pen. The shades are a bit funny. The dark brown one has a purple undertone when rubbed turns green but I can make tiny hair like strokes to fill in any gap. The make me brow brow gel with filling fibers. It's a good one to tint the brows and make them look visible a tad more. The glosses. I have a clear one. Perfect texture. Feels like water on the lips. The volumizing collagen lip balm. Can rescue the driest lips. And the lipliners that come with the hydrating nude. Both in delicate. It's the perfect pinky-purply nude for me and I love the hydrating formula. Expecially during winter.

Catrice is my to-go affordable drugstore brand. Its just slighty more expensive by €1 to €2 but one of the best cheap brands

My true love from essence is THIS banana powder. It’s my favorite setting posseder, I don’t use it to brighten up BUT ONLY to set and it’s magic! I’ve gone through 5 of them. I travel a lot and this is the only powder I take with me. It doesn’t look drying under my eyes and sets my foundation perfectly. No matter what I try I always go back to it. I’ve tried so many high end and affordable powders and this one is the one I could live with for the rest of my life ❤️

Lash Princess in the pink or the green are my absolute favorite mascaras.

I am glad you enjoyed this brand. I grew up on Essence and later on Catrice (sisters). And I love most of the stuff they make. They are great for mascara, nail varnish, lipstics, bronzers... Brushes need a bit of use and natural oil from your skin and than they will work great :)

Essence eyeshadows and blushes are my OBSESSION. I had the "Hallo Berlin" pallet and those greens and gold shimmers just blew my mind! And the blush in the shade "beloved" is perfect for people with pale cold toned skin

As a teenager in love with makeup, Essence really came through for me as well as Catrice. Some of their special editions aren't the best in quality but the products that they have been selling for years like their mascaras, highlighters, lip liners etc. That's where the gold lies.

I have tried a few different Essence products but my favorite is the melted chrome eyeshadows. So pretty.
I have one and it fell apart really quickly in the pan but as long as I’m careful it’s fine, my friend in Germany recommended it and I love it

First of all in nail polish cause they do not cost basically and for someone who has always done tips on herself and nail arts like me, it’s better than paying 10€ for each nail polish.
I get the awful pencil experience. I have blue/green eyes that are Exeter my delicate and watery and those pencils are like fire to my waterline. Also, they don’t leave pigment on.
I wanna suggest you to try their brow soap, tbh I was surprised as hell! It’s like the Beauty bay one that we both love and I have your same type of brows. Very thick and bushy. I do not touch them, so mine and those wild one and it stays on pretty well for most of the day, I’d say a good 7 hours.
I wanna suggest you their highlighters but the ones of special collections. For example, I got a ginger bread one two Christmas ago and it’s one of the best drugstore highlighters I have ever used. Same goes for the coffee collection months ago.

I bought my first makeup from essence around 15 years ago! It was a small eyeshadow pallet called “hello Tokyo” with the most amazing shimmery black, silver and two shades of pink. Such a great affordable brand! The eyeshadows, lip/eyebrow products and the mascara’s are soooo good!

my favorite blending brush is from essence and i love it to death to this day! i've had it for like 13 years and it's still going strong! and the extreme shine lip glosses have been my favorite for just as long. i don't even know how many i've used, but the clear one is the shiniest gloss i've ever used.
Using essence makeup was like a rite of passage in my very working class girl’s school lol. I never found a foundation shade that worked for me- me and all of my Irish friends wore the same shade of orange 🫣(I’m Indian) but the mascaras are *so* good I still buy them. Some of their eyeshadows are also very good for what you pay for them.
I just want to say THANK YOU for always having captions on your videos!! I have terrible hearing, and captions make it so much easier and nicer to watch videos - it's a small thing that a lot of channels don't do, and I have huge respect and appreciation for any channel that takes the time to make their content more accessible 😌

Lash Princess is my go to all day every day. Essence shadows in general I have always enjoyed and I love the limited editions that that pop up all the time. I've had some divine duo-chrome shadows, which I adore.

I like some of their eye pencils, I didn't quite catch the one you used, but it is true that some of them feel "dried up" at first but after a bit of warming up on the hand beforehand they apply very smooth. Maybe try it with that one and see if it applies better? They stay all day for me too. Loved the video! I love essence, they were the first brand I started using when I got into makeup as a student and couldn't afford any more expensive makeup. Over a decade later and I still swear by Lash Princess and their Volume Stylist mascaras and will buy them over high end brands every time
I love their eyeliner pens! The brown one is really sheer so looks amazing for a no-makeup makeup look!

Great lash is 100% holy grail for ever..started doing makeup in 2000 and it was holy grail to the person who taught me makeup. And mine ever since. I've tried essence mascara and I was like whyyyy does everyone love this?

I like the lash princess and the pretty natural hydrating foundation is a great affordable option for drier skin.
Essence Lash Princess Mascara is my all time fave. I don't even bother trying new stuff because it is hands down the best I've used, high end or drug store in the 30+ years I've been doing my makeup.

As for powders, they can be great. However, don't travel with them. They will break in your drawer anyway! 💜💜💜

I’ve been using that mascara for yearssss. It’s such a great, affordable option. I’ll have to try the lipstick-I don’t like to spend a lot on lipstick because I wear it far less than gloss, but am super picky about texture. This one looks really nice. Edit: And the nude lip look is perfect on you! It’s one of my favorite looks to wear, too

I’ve heard several people rave about their lash princess. Do you happen to know what type/formula of mascara it is? I have the world’s worst stubby and finicky lashes. I find that the tubing mascaras work best for me.

I use the green and black Lash Princess and it more of a defining and separating mascara. I do get some length but it doesn't really advertise itself as one....although it says that it's like false eyelashes (😂😂 - it's definitely not that level!) But it is a really good, trusty and cheap mascara. I always go back to it. Have a great Sunday! ❤
@@leighsimpson6737 I recently bought Laurellll’s 😂(L’Oréal ) Double Extend Tubing Mascara. It’s in the red and white tube. (Kinda hard to find.). It has a primer on one side and tubing mascara on the other. It’s pretty good except there’s just not much of it!

The Essence Pretty Natural Hydrating Foundation is really good. Not super hydrating, but a natural comfortable finish. And the Pure Nude highlighter is top notch.

My Essence favorites are: pure nude highlighter it is smooth and gives a lit from within natural glow, the banana powder, most of their brushes and their nail polish lines
I LOVE their banana powder! Concealer usually looks terrible under my eyes so I use the banana powder instead for some brightening and it's beautiful!
The green looks very nice and vibrant.
Essence products are how I learned to do my own makeup so as soon as I got the notification, I had to click!
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this brand: One one hand I love many of their products and they are super affordable, on the other hand I hate the way they do business.
The trouble with essence is that they come out with a new limited edition collection every couple months. I’m always scared to try their new products in case I like them, because they won’t be there for very long. It’s fine with eyeshadow palettes because it takes a while to use them up, but they also make LE primers, skincare, lip balms, mists, brushes, setting sprays… and the formulas aren’t consistent, so if you like the lip balm from collection A, there’s no guarantee that you will like the lip balm from collection B because the formula will (in most cases) be different.
It seems so wasteful to throw away a nice formula after a few weeks because it isn’t trendy anymore, you know?
It doesn’t help that every collection they come up with contains some form of gimmicky product that looks interesting but is actual junk. Just why? 🤦🏻♀️

I'm so glad you tried Essence! I love the mascara!!! The matte bronzer in the big pan is good. The pure nude highlighter and pure nude sunlighter is bomb. The eyeliners are pretty decent too.
My friend who is a lipstick fiend HATES when I wear “dead lip” lol. I love when the lips almost blend in with your skin tone. I miss the days of foundation mouth in the 9th grade lol

I just went "oh no" when you showed which concealer you got 😅 They do one in the same packaging that's called healthy glow, and that one is much nicer! Also I have quite a lot of things from them including bronzers (luminous matte you can pry from my cold dead hands) and nothing has smelled bad, so maybe you got a bad bronzer?
honestly, essence is a lifesaver cause it's so affordable and good! i mostly use their eyeproducts cause i don't wear foundation and they are the best! here in finland essence has been around for about 8-10 years and all my friends also use it !

Products from essence I use the most are:
Skin lovin' sensitive concealer. Has enough coverage and it's not matte drying.
The banana powder works great. I only use it under my eyes, nose and chin. But that's because I have a dryer skin type and I always get a dry forehead after taking off makeup.
The glow glow go higliter! Yes. It looks like wet skin. Skin after a moisturizer.
The colour intensifying eyeshadow base. I recommend setting it first because it's quite sticky and can cause gripping of shadows.
The Superfine eyeliner. It's a pain in the ass to remove but it's the only eyeliner I can use.
The tiny tip eyebrow pen. The shades are a bit funny. The dark brown one has a purple undertone when rubbed turns green but I can make tiny hair like strokes to fill in any gap.
The make me brow brow gel with filling fibers. It's a good one to tint the brows and make them look visible a tad more.
The glosses. I have a clear one. Perfect texture. Feels like water on the lips.
The volumizing collagen lip balm. Can rescue the driest lips.
And the lipliners that come with the hydrating nude. Both in delicate. It's the perfect pinky-purply nude for me and I love the hydrating formula. Expecially during winter.
I have the green tube mascara and my eyelashes are natural blonde - almost clear. This mascara is amazing!!
