If vieira and ESR dont pick up at least 90 minutes from now until the end of the season they might as well be sold, no point letting them warm the bench
Those stats up about minutes played need a comparrison otherwise there's no context. This season Foden has played more minutes than Saka has. He's played only 6min fewer than Odegaard. This idea that our players are kanckard and overplayed, suffering from injuries only ever comes up as an excuse when they underperform. See Newcastle away a few years ago. Or games towards the end of last season... It's mental, it's in their heads..
Charles, if we sign Havertz for £65m to play in midfield and then have to buy another midfielder to replace him the next season, whilst also having to buy a first choice ST because Havertz is only good enough to be a rotation option there, THEN YES, THE TRANSFER HAS BEEN A FAILURE And I like Havertz, but we need to be honest with ourselves
I agree regarding coming away from starting lineups. We all know who starts for Arsenal if they are fit, which is fine for the first half of the season but we've seen what happens in that last chunk.. No one bats and eye lid when City start with different attackers. Imagine checking the Arsenal line up and Neto starts instead of Saka for a game, Saka comes on as a sub. Then the next game Saka starts and Neto comes on as a sub. This would also help to prevent us from becoming predictable.. I don't think the recent 2 game results are down to mental pressure, it's physical exhaustion so bringing in more top level players is essential.
100% agree with this . If we even talk of resting Saka it trends online whilst City rest Foden and Haaland every few games and with no fuss or drama. That's why they remain fresh at the business part of the season.
I'd don't expect to see this, but it'd be interesting to see this side tomorrow; Raya White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tommy Rice, ESR, Odegaard Jesus, Trossard, Martinelli
The team really needs rotation for sure.. If only Arteta would see this starting we would get off some pressure on players in as much as we would be altering some player relationships on the pitch. Starting 11. Raya White saliba Gabby Tomiyasu Partey, Rice, Zinchenco/Viera Jesus Trossard ESR
Charles you say you can see Arteta's point of view, but surely when you have the game done and dusted by half time (West Ham, Burnley, Sheff Utd etc) surely it makes sense to make substitutions at half time to save some legs.
Hi Charles, I fully agree with you having more players arteta trusts will help us out more. We still have something to fight for this season but I’m excited for next season… it could be
I'm sorry Charles, I don't agree with the Man City/Doku comparison. Trossard is miles ahead of Doku in terms of upredictability and impact off the bench. We can't forget 8 months of amazing contribution becuase of 1 disappointing month. We need to build from here but there's still very little flaws to pick on with this team, and for that alone I have to applaud these guys!
"8 months of amazing contribution"? 🤦🏻♂️ Trossard has been up & down his whole time here. The epitome of a squad player (for a team with title ambitions).
@@kunimitsune177 Trossard has 13 goals and 2 assists this season, Doku has 4 goals and 7 assists (4 of which came from 1 match against Bournemouth). They’re simply miles apart in quality
If Mikel can buy havertz and try to rejuvenate him then why don’t we go for sancho can play lw rw and can beat a man a world Class talent yet to be unlocked it’s a no brainer to me some may disagree..
Arteta is hard to ask questions like this when you need to write for your living. As most of the time he doesn’t give an answer. So worth asking once in a while.
Excellent comments from you Charles. Particularly the idea of playing Zinky in midfield and your squad building mission at the end. I think you should be Edu's right-hand man 👍
Hi Charles, great content as always. That Bayern defeat really hurt. I'm not saying we're the best in Europe but it's a cup competition and you need luck to win it. This for me is up there with 2004 as a massive missed opportunity. Bayern were there for taking, City going out no doubt made the odds shorter on us reaching the final. Some school of thought may say we're not at the level yet, but Liverpool in 2005 were hardly at the level with the likes Djimi Traore in their team. 20 years later that Wayne Bridge goal still haunts me, but losing without going a bit gung ho at the end added to the disappointment. It's another year gone by and I often wonder will I ever be lucky to see this beautiful club I love almost too deeply lift that trophy.
I'm not bothered about our best Champion's League campaign since 2008. I am bothered about our defeat to Aston Villa. I watched Lille play Villa last night with dynamic and exciting football. and beat them comfortably in 90 mins And when I compare it with our turgid display of tippy tappy football a few days ago we looked like the low ranked European team.
We need a number 10 to compete with Odergaard and a winger who can compete with saka. Those 2 have been carrying our attack the whole season but they are physically exhausted and when we take out odergaard we don't have an equal replacement
Don’t think the players are “ Dead on their feet”. They certainly were not in the first half v. Villa. We can still win the league, Have to continue to have the belief
Its not the defeat that's so disappointing, it's the way wer lost it . We had no belief, we tamely let Bayern take our stuff and walk away , we gave no fight . We probably lacked belief in ourselves, onwards and upwards now next season will be better
I think the Partey situation is really interesting, because it's clearly not an issue of the boss not trusting one of the players he's relied on repeatedly throughout his time in charge, so if he's fit what's the issue? We can all agree that he's looked rusty when he's played, but for me more than that he's looked *slow*. I genuinely wonder if Arteta is starting to think Partey is a spent force, maybe all those injuries have caught up with him, and not a realistic part of a midfield axis with Deccers anymore - which we all assumed was the plan when we signed Rice in the summer
I kinda think this too. I think they've been playing him in lil cameos recently to show 'he's not injured' to potential suitors this summer. they still want a fee rather than letting it run down I think lol
Hey Charles - hope you‘re doing well. Today I‘d play: Raya White-Saliba-Big G-Kiwior Partey-Rice Vieira-Odegaard-Trossard Jesus It will be a difficult game, but that team should be good enough.
I Charles, you’re right about the “starter” comment in relation to these players, but it isn’t just about fitness and fatigue, it’s also about building rhythm, sharpness, relationships , confidence and chemistry throughout the whole 18. Many fans, yourself included were up in arms about Gabriel being benched and Partey being played at RB at the beginning of the season when it was being claimed that Havertz was shoehorned into the team which wasn’t the case. Meanwhile City shuffle their backline every 3 days and no one bats an eyelid. The culture around the club also includes player attitudes to certain things that happen around match day. -Lateef
Hey Charles! From the slide showing how many minutes each player has played, Nelson is the stand out for me. He is not that bad a player that he should only get 431 minutes in a season where I don't recall him being injured. Other players in the lower levels had long term injuries, Nelson didn't. Nelson is a progressive player, he can score goals, he can provide the assist, he has won us games, and he can give other players a rest. It's madness that he's not trusted.
How can anyone do something different when we are so rigid in our attacking shape. Wingers are on the touchline 99.99% of the time, no off the ball runs, not playing on the shoulder, no runs from out to in. Just on the touchline facing 2 players and having to pass inside.
Surely Arteta and Edu and the way they’ve worked as of late, they’ve already established their top 3 targets and have already talked to player/agent. I expect there to be 1-2 that just need prices negotiating for with clubs to get the deal done. Like the Rice saga
Hi Charles, frankly overjoyed to see the return of the wires! I get what you say about the reliance on "system goals". However I don't think we have done badly against the low block. Where we have really f@@ked up was against the mid block. Villa and west ham being two teams that have done us. The problem with Villa was Saliba and Gabbi holding too high a line. The second goal we played them on side and gave them yards by having the d line in the opponent's half. Just because the opponent will not press the centres does not mean they have to bring the ball and fight a higher line. We made that mistake against Chelsea and Villa. If they create a defensive overload by dropping their strikers into the bloc you have to play it long into channel 1 or 5. If you have faster wingers than their full backs then you will get set pieces and goals. Having said all of that a mercurial 10 would be great to watch.
Hi Charles. I agree with you. We need at least 2 Maverick players. If you look at Artetas team, it is strong disciplined and positional awhere with good players. On its day, it can beat most prem teams, but when we come across teams that are more skilful and pacey that are also on a higher level, we either struggle or run out of ideas. If we do get a new number 9, I wonder where that leaves Havertz as I think we will strengthen in midfield also.
HUGE summer for Edu, he has a lot of players to potentially shift: Nketiah, Nelson, Jorginho OR Partey, Smith-Rowe (wish it wasn’t so), Ramsdale, Vieira (Arteta either needs to play him or get rid). Even with those outgoings bringing in a 9 and RW will have 7 players compete across the front line for three positions (although Havertz will still probably be utilised as an 8 too), which may be too many based on Arteta’s preferences and usage of players. So I predict Trossard, Jesus or Martinelli to move on if an appropriate bid came in for one of them. My prediction is purely based on that you don’t want three players competing for LW (Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus) and three for the 9 role (Havertz, Jesus and a new 9).
There are a good few players out there (mostly mentioned) that would improve our team, however I feel that something we do need are one or two more winners in the squad. Not necessarily older, but with the experience of being part of a winning team.
Love the content Charles, Regarding the rotation of the squad. I agree with Arteta not changing it regardless of the players burning out, we haven’t seen enough from the fringe players to justify playing them in do or die games which every prem game has been post Xmas. Obviously we don’t want to drop points because we’re playing players who aren’t up to the estandards or else we won’t reach Man City. Ultimately this summer will determine what we are able to challenge for. Last szn we fizzled out in the league in April with just one competition to worry about, we added a few more players of the standard and have managed to do Ucl run and prem run in April. There has been improvement made and more to come
Florian Wirtz is a gonna be a superstar. Why not go all out for him? Generational talent and would mean we don’t have to rely on Odegaard for elite skill and playmaking in AM. Wirtz can score bags too
Hey Charles love the channel keep up the good work! 1) It’s s important to point out how reliant we are on scoring early goals and putting the game to bed. When we score early we change the game state and it is much easier from a fitness perspective to set up a mid block and defend for 25 minutes than it is to play a full 90 of high intensity pressing to try and get a winner or equalizer. A clinical forward could help put games to bed and give the entire team a “rest” 2) I agree we simply don’t have enough difference makers and if mikel doesn’t trust these players we need to get them out and bring in players he does trust. Could Arsenal hire someone to be in charge of selling players since edu is clearly lacking in this aspect?
Can a Maverick player operate in a structured system like Arsenal. Where players have to be in a specific position depending on where the ball is on the pitch ?
I could be wrong, of course, but I am wary of being too reactive of "having to have" a top scorer. We are scoring goals like mad, but as soon as we don't get just one, everybody is back on the bandwagon of "needing a striker". What about our wonderful flow, our team goals, and our enviable sharing of goals throughout the team? If that got us here, might the addition of a player who "has to have the ball" disrupt our magic?
Seeing as Olise is injury prone, I feel we may as well take a risk on Neto instead.. I also worry about singing more players who don't have experience winning things, but then again I'd take Isaak in a heartbeat so maybe that's just nonsense thinking! Either way, it's going to be a massive window which we have to get right again! Good work as always Charles 👍
Press in Germany all season talking about Sane not signing his contract it’s evident we need a quality addition to both wings and he provides it with experience. If Neto price of 60 million is to be believed Sane on 1 yr left would be roughly the same. Having watched him for many yrs it is clear he is a top player who imo alongside a physical link up ST like Gykores would freshen up our attacking threat. Interested to see what other supporters think
Guys we need to stop just looking at the premier league, nico williams looks very good with huge potential, uses both feet, fast good dribbling and accurate crossing… his release clause is only 50m and thats alot lower than what palace will charge for olise and probably about what wolves will want for neto. I think nico williams looks better than both of them.
@@Slim2Flo I agree nico Williams had good appearances in the supercoppa and has a couple of good games for Bilbao. I think it will be more about how the club attract him than the price
Sell ESR, Nelson , Nketiah, Ramsdale, Viera, Zinchenko, Patino, Partey, Tierney, Lokonga, Tavares, etc etc. Buy 4 top quality players at £60 million each ish. Competitive squad of 18 interchangeable players. Plus some youngsters. Our second string not near good enough
Don’t think we’ll break the bank for Isak. It’s Olise vs Xavi Simons and Gyokeres vs Sesko. If we can grab Zubimendi on top to sit alongside Rice and make forward cutting passes, we’ll take the next step. I still think we’re 2-3 years away from competing in 3-4 competitions simultaneously, like City can do.
Olise is good but palace are notoriously hard to deal with like tottenham. I want us to look at nico williams, not a bad release clause and i think olise being a good young player palace will try and get the most out of it and ask for 80m or more. Nico has a 50m release clause and is looking very good.
I disagree. My thought would be more scoring from the back. Having only been able to watch the highlights of the games, I was impressed that the center defense were the difference makers. As much as I dislike the individual, a Rodri, type would be the move I would make.
As much as I wanted Arsenal to progress in the CL is doesn’t hurt like the defeat to Aston Villa, I couldn’t focus nor eat after that defeat but I’m sure they’ll turn it around. This is not Arsenal of the past, this is a well structured team 💪🏽
Front 6 of Martinelli Trossard Jesus Vieira Partey ESR 🙏 You can take all 5 off at half time it fails but I'd rather see them start together and mikel actually try and rotate Wolves are weak and are probably one of our easiest games until the end of the season Tired of seeing some players be immune to rotation
The problem with Arteta is rotation. Even when players are fit, he will still play the likes of Saka, Odegaard, Havertz forgetting that best players always need rest. How many minutes did the likes of ESR, Partey, Nelson and Nketiah get the main players rest. Saliba and Gabriel M are not robots, they rest as well.
Hi Charles, thanks for bringing the mood up a bit in a dire week for us gooners. On the stiker debate. Isak has 17 goals in 24 PL games despite who many would describe as an injury prone player. Thats as sure of a safe bet for striker you'll get on the market and he can play on the wing. Sign him up, give him the #14 and watch him cook! Thanks Nathan
Don’t think we can go for Olise unless given a good deal. He’s missed 21 games in last 2 seasons :( think we should go for Musiala and put Odegaard at 8. Would revive martinelli I think.
Can’t help but feel there will be many departures in the summer. Zinny, Jesus, Partey, vieira, nketiah, , ramsdale, nelson, elneny, possibly ESR We’ve having a great season despite those players not being fit, match ready or good enough to start. That’s a great portion of our wages. which can be spend on other quality. Unfortunately availability beats talent and it seems very irrational to expect players like Partey, Jesus to stay fit. Feel like this year was the reality check that we needed, seeing how opponents line up against us now, is not something this team has faced before and was the big reason for our rocky start. We’ve seen who can step up their game and stay focused in the big games and it seems quite obvious the team has developed past Zinny and Jesus, they’re unfortunately looking like weak links right now. Plus the obvious striker situation. Top strikers decide games and it feels at times like we have to play perfect to score, that’s the biggest difference between us and all the elite teams right now (corners making up for this) Left wing also leaves something to be desired at times. But I’m confident with Timber returning the whole left flank will become more fluid. This summer transfer window will decide how this project will end up if you ask me. But also confident Mikel and Edu will make the right choices
Olise is quality but honestly he is gonna wind up this fanbase no end with his demeanor and work rate. +City will just turn up and get him. Out of the two, Eze is slightly less silky, but still just as impactful (and homegrown)
Hi Charles, I want to know your opinion on Jesus and Zinni. Been hearing of this winning mentality they brought in, but it's been them who struggle the most when the going gets tough. For me, it just shows not every player at Man City has that winning gene in them. We shouldn't be judging players based on their teams achievements, it should be on how they perform in their own role. Neither Jesus or Zinni were viral cogs for that City team.
Hi Charles. I noticed that Tuchel mentioned in his pre match conference that he knew how Arsenal are going to play. We have become too predictable in our attack. Odegaard passes to Saka and hope for the best. Etc etc. Why not play Havertz and Jesus or Trossard up top and have the long diagonal ball as a plan B. Havertz won a lot of aerial duels v Bayern so would have been good to have a Trossard or Jesus alongside him. We never seem to mix up our play and barring individual brilliance from Saka or someone our attack is stale. I would have loved to have reverted to a classic 4-4-2 with Partey in midfield for the final 25 mins v Munich and at least go out on our shield. Instead we just threw bodies on with no structure or plan and hence didn't create a chance
I think re the CL exit…. Yes, a QF loss - and a narrow one - to Bayern is kind of a par result (certainly not a disaster). It’s also the case that we were a penalty shootout away from losing to Sporting. So clearly still need to take the squad up a.level. I can’t see Isak happening - it’s going to take over £100m to even make it interesting for Newcastle. Olise and Sesko would be great.
We desperately need to replace partey, jorghinio has done so well to fill in for partey not being there but I think rice offers us so much more in the 8 when he drives with the ball, I think we need someone in the 6 that breaks the lines like jorghinio but also has the physical side which partey gave us both when fit, also desperate for a proper number 9 that we can send balls into the box to when against a low block like osimen/vlahovic
A sign of madness is 'doing the same thing(s)' and expecting a 'different result' this is what Arteta has been doing from day one. Yes I agree with you that he (and Edu) have done some very good things but we've filled the squad with some 'deadwood' and given them expensive contracts Cedric given a 4yr deal on £100k pw, Nketiah £100k pw, Nelson £100k pw. Now the biggest problem I have is the goal keeper saga when Arteta came in he had Leno as his No1 in that season when he got injured Martinez (who had been with the club for some 10yrs with various loan spells) came in and done brilliantly and help Arteta win his ONLY trophy to date. Then he signed Ramsdale and he took over from Leno, now we've signed Raya who has taken over Ramsdale. In my opinion put all three of them together and there still not as good as Martinez!!!! I'm saying I don't think this current arsenal squad is good enough in key areas to get over the line and win trophies, we'll be there about but he's spent major monies on average and we still need a keeper, left back, centre midfielder and striker.
So we have zero players who can create something out of nothing, or we have plenty and Arteta doesn't give them freedom to do so? Remember when Martinelli used to beat defenders? Remember when Odegaard scored goals and created assists? Too long under Arteta and they forgot how to dribble, now pay attention to the same thing slowly happening to Doku at City. And pay attention to the freedom being afforded to Real Madrid players while they win the double this season.
Charles: this isnt necessarily related to anything in the vid I'm commenting on, but how much of a mistake do you think it was selling Xhaka on last year? I'm fully confident that retaining him, and seeing him play alongside Rice in MF, we would have been even better than before. Rice has done excellently to adapt, and has been a stand out, but he could've had the process of learning a more advanced role made easier by keeping a player who was excelling in the left 8 position. I'm aware this is ultimately pointless cos hindsight is always in 20:20, but can't get past the decision to move on a mentality monster, second ball hoover at the peak of his powers. Arsenal clearly had not surpassed Xhaka to the point where the team were carrying him. He was the epitome of 'Passion, Clarity, Energy', and huge not only for the team, but for the atmosphere in the stadium. Xhaka back? (Alistair in Brum)
That was really a distasteful post by Edu. Reeks of corporate BS. There are two concerns I have: first, does Arteta realize he has a problem with rotation? Second, will players thinking about coming to Arsenal look at his lack of rotation and trust in his bench and go yeah nah?
We already needed a striker 2 years ago when Isak was £37M and was offered to us before he joined Newcastle, and now we’re talking about signing him at £100M? Who’s this market genius as the club?
Hi Charles, I don’t agree with the Ollise opinion. I think you can get a much better/polished player for £65M which is a lot of money. I’d also say he’s not that much different to Saka in the way both play. I’d much rather someone with extreme pace that actually takes people on. Isak though…. Absolutely, he’s an absolute gem.
So as soon as the season starts to unravel, Arsenal dangle potential transfer signings in front of the fan to make us think things will be better next season. Fact is we wasted last transfer window on a 65 million player who doesn't really improve the team and Goal Keeper who nothing special. I dont trust Arteta to sign the right players. We now need the players with big Characters and Arteta wants a bunch of passive players!!! Why does Arteta have so many players he doesn't trust, hence burning out the main 13 players every season!!!
I honestly don't understand people who believe Olisse can improve Arsenal. If Reiss Nelson played for Crystal Palace, I'm sure they would be saying the same about him. Isak on the other hand, if it was possible, I would mind Arsenal offering Nketiah + £50m for him. That guy is a player and a half. He is exactly what we need to lead the pack. With endless supply from Odegaard and Jorginho plus stray crosses from Martinelli, White and Partey, he would easily Arsenal score 20+ goals.
You want a ‘we don’t know what he’s gonna do’ type player? We had one in Nicolas Pepe! The only problem was- no one else knew what he was going to do either! 😂 And therein lies the problem- unpredictability is fine as long as it is (paradoxically) predictable (by your teammates)!
Don’t know why people speak about Isak - Newcastle would be insane to sell him even if they have FFP issues if they have to sell it will be abroad not to a direct Prem rival
Hey Charles, Regarding lineup tomorrow I would like to see the back four we saw at Bayern, Rice, Havertz, Ødegaard, Jesus, Saka, and Trossard leading the line. Focusing on Havertz, Jesus, and Trossard. My thoughts are that we’ve seen Trossard at his best in that position, he can play fluidly with Havertz as they did so well in January and February. Starting Jesus on the left gives you an experienced player who knows when to stay wide like Arteta likes, but has a nose for when to come on the inside and become a ball magnet. Having Martinelli as a sub gives a leggy defense a new problem regardless of we need to get something out of the game, or we want to keep them pinned back at arms length. Above all I like this option because it’s shakes up the attack which I think we need after the last three games. Would love to hear your thoughts. Shawn
Yesss ive been saying that. Nico williams looks class and would fit in with our squad very well, honestly he would start on our left flank. Spanish too so arteta will like him
Hey Charles, responding to your extra time video with James. You keep saying City aren't going anywhere.. they can easily be relegated the in a couple seasons time with the 115 charges
Reise was like that, Arteta turned him he doesn't allow players to do that. You do that you get dropped. No matter who we buy, Arteta will force them to play his way or get dropped. Be it olise or who ever.
I’d love to see Raya Saliba,Gabi,Tomi, Kiwior. Party , Rice, Odegard SR Trossard and Saka . Change is needed if we need to keep our title hope. Saad Almahri
Arteta has players he can use but he doesn't trust them so he plays the same group of players all of the time. We did the same last season. But if he doesn't trust ESR, Partey, Viera etc why are they still at the club? Imagine what must be going thru their heads on the bench when we're struggling and they still can't get minutes. ESR's last game he got man of the match and yet he still can't game time
I think the reason why Arsenal seem to choke every season and hit a roadblock is partly because they are very predictable and possibly due to Arteta's ethos of 'control' so teams can really easily work us out. Also the manager does not have the experience of winning a PL or CL so its impossible for him to inspire the players in the latter stages if we win one we will win lots, I like Arteta and want him to stay with us for a long time, however, to take us to the next level we may need someone with proven at winning these tournaments so I maybe something to keep an eye on.
All of our fringe players need to be sold. I love ESR as do many Arsenal fans but he’s got to be sold aswell, should be able to get £30 - £35 million from him
If the players are running on fumes it's a good thing that we were defeated in the League Cup and FA Cup so early then and didn't have a decent run in it like other big clubs.
Charles, I think everyone questioning Arteta needs to watch the Amazon documentary again! It makes me laugh when fans believe they know better. These guys have shown they plan way in advance and they know what to do. This thing of expectations change is rubbish for the team. They had targets at the beginning and those stay the same. EPL - Challenge, which they are. CL - Quarter finals, which they have done. As for fringe players, they proved they cannot be trusted when they exit FA and LEAGUE CUPS early.
Odegaard Saka.knackered and knocks. And tempted to rest for chels too.. but we won't.. so Raya, White, Galiba Galiba, Tomiy., Partey, Rice, Odegaard , saka, Martinelli, Havertz. Tross to sub on and make it 2 NiL.. final.
@@PaulClarke-dv5sr No, But my Canadian Gooner friends were.. and then u would see Odegaard playing thru pain.. Saka looked dead.. but i am sure they will still start tomorrow.. saying be good to have bench that Arteta would trust and play.. when we need to in the games come every 3 days..
@@PaulClarke-dv5sr they Steroid'd Up their Finances way back.. and could keep Upgrading and selling and making more $ of cheating and have Superstar Backups we getting there.. big time and Beat them! this season 4pts! i agree Saka young should go every game.. but looked dead 2nd half a bit v Bayern eh!
I beg to differ with you when it comes to Issak I dnt think he's Arsenal material.. is he better than what we have now? We need a complete number 9 a mid field, wing players who will give Saka and Martinelli real competition.
Martinelli's lack of production I feel comes down to little support. No consistent fullback support, Zinny tucks into midfield and generally slows play down or shifts it to the right, Jakob is not an outright fullback, Tomi mostly injured this year. Ode shades to the right to link with Saka and White. Recently, we hardly ever get the ball to him early choosing to work the ball up slowly between the back line and midfielders or forwards dropping deep. We need to be more dynamic and use more of the field with varying tempo, this is when we have looked dangerous. Many players look tired and they are the ones on the ball holding it, looking to pass to each other. I have faith in Arteta but if he continues to run the first 11 into the ground a lot of these players will have short careers. he either needs to show faith in the bench or move them on. This is part of the process though and the future is still bright.
Arteta 's signings failed. Reason for saying this. He bought Declan for a dm , was not effective in build-up, needed to move him up with jorginho needed in the deep line role. Bought Haverts as an 8 but failed and thrived in false nine role. Wasted odegard in games he should have played Viera and wasted saka in games he should have played Nelson. Wasted Gabriel and saliba in games he should played kiwior and tomiyasu. Wasted white when he could have use tomi as well. For me zinchenko could have been used as an 8 and Tierney kept. Has successfully as haverts has been lately in an 8 role zinchenko would have worked. Lack of rotation killed him last season and again this season.
So much talk about targets then taking forever to land them can be pretty tiresome. They should do what man city did with Haaland, land their target before the summer arrives and then let it be used to motivate bigger names to join.
If vieira and ESR dont pick up at least 90 minutes from now until the end of the season they might as well be sold, no point letting them warm the bench
The wires have helped perk me up again. Great to see them after a tough few days

@@pat24490 exactly..if City used the same starting lineup all season I'm pretty sure they'd fade / 'bottle' it towards the end as well!
Agreed, not helpful when our bench has the likes of nelson and nketiah.
Welcome Back Charles ... Now let's win all our games and give Chity a scare! COYG!
I'd don't expect to see this, but it'd be interesting to see this side tomorrow;
Raya
White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tommy
Rice, ESR, Odegaard
Jesus, Trossard, Martinelli
The team really needs rotation for sure.. If only Arteta would see this starting we would get off some pressure on players in as much as we would be altering some player relationships on the pitch.
Starting 11.
Raya
White saliba Gabby Tomiyasu
Partey, Rice, Zinchenco/Viera
Jesus Trossard ESR
Charles you say you can see Arteta's point of view, but surely when you have the game done and dusted by half time (West Ham, Burnley, Sheff Utd etc) surely it makes sense to make substitutions at half time to save some legs.
i've been saying that since December.. you have to rotate and MA does not even if the game is in the bag
Trossard has been up & down his whole time here. The epitome of a squad player (for a team with title ambitions).
@@kunimitsune177 Trossard has 13 goals and 2 assists this season, Doku has 4 goals and 7 assists (4 of which came from 1 match against Bournemouth). They’re simply miles apart in quality
@@kunimitsune177 this aged beautifully…
If Mikel can buy havertz and try to rejuvenate him then why don’t we go for sancho can play lw rw and can beat a man a world Class talent yet to be unlocked it’s a no brainer to me some may disagree..
I go for Trossard false 9 and Partey midfield.
Id also go jesus or nelso rw .
Message to Charles: why do you not ask Arteta these questions about player rotations ? I’m intrigued to know?
Today I‘d play:
Raya
White-Saliba-Big G-Kiwior
Partey-Rice
Vieira-Odegaard-Trossard
Jesus
It will be a difficult game, but that team should be good enough.
I'd love to see us go for Williot Swedburg from Celta Vigo in central midfield
-Lateef
Thanks for your very practical take on the team at the moment. Will like to watch that minute load chart over the year next year too.
Hi Charles , as much as I love your channel, don’t you ever dare go on holiday.
Arsenal results while Charles is out: DLL
Charles love your videos, but asking for player who was unpredictable we had that with Nicolas Pepe and Mikel didn't trust him.
Love the content Charles,
Regarding the rotation of the squad.
A clinical forward could help put games to bed and give the entire team a “rest”
2) I agree we simply don’t have enough difference makers and if mikel doesn’t trust these players we need to get them out and bring in players he does trust.
Our minutes played are the same as other clubs minutes played. There has to be more to it than that
Sell ESR, Nelson , Nketiah, Ramsdale, Viera, Zinchenko, Patino, Partey, Tierney, Lokonga, Tavares, etc etc. Buy 4 top quality players at £60 million each ish. Competitive squad of 18 interchangeable players. Plus some youngsters. Our second string not near good enough
This isn’t fifa
Don’t think we’ll break the bank for Isak. It’s Olise vs Xavi Simons and Gyokeres vs Sesko. If we can grab Zubimendi on top to sit alongside Rice and make forward cutting passes, we’ll take the next step. I still think we’re 2-3 years away from competing in 3-4 competitions simultaneously, like City can do.
Think Olise is a no brainer - quality player!
Olise is good but palace are notoriously hard to deal with like tottenham. I want us to look at nico williams, not a bad release clause and i think olise being a good young player palace will try and get the most out of it and ask for 80m or more. Nico has a 50m release clause and is looking very good.
@@Slim2Flo heard good things about Nico but never seen him play. May have a better injury record than Olise? Not a bad shout 👍🏾
Whoever we sign I hope they are good enough to actually get game time.
Front 6 of
Martinelli Trossard Jesus
Vieira Partey ESR
🙏
You can take all 5 off at half time it fails but I'd rather see them start together and mikel actually try and rotate
Wolves are weak and are probably one of our easiest games until the end of the season
Tired of seeing some players be immune to rotation
I’d play ESR GJ & Gabi front three with Kai sat behind. Rice & Partey then Tomi, Kiwior, full backs and the usual Gabi, WS and Raya
Individual errors cost us the first leg at the emirates and that was the tie for me
The problem with Arteta is rotation. Even when players are fit, he will still play the likes of Saka, Odegaard, Havertz forgetting that best players always need rest. How many minutes did the likes of ESR, Partey, Nelson and Nketiah get the main players rest. Saliba and Gabriel M are not robots, they rest as well.
Arsenal need someone like leroy sane, he terrorized our defense, we don't have a player that can do that on the team
Zinny, Jesus, Partey, vieira, nketiah, , ramsdale, nelson, elneny, possibly ESR
We’ve having a great season despite those players not being fit, match ready or good enough to start.
Hi Charles you're talking about a 'game changer' and we need a striker so if/ when we sign that player where does Havertz play?
Pedro Neto would be okay as regular unless he is injured just when Saka is in need of a rest
For the wolves game:
Raya,
Tomi, Gabi, Saliba, Kivior
Nelson, partey, ESR, Viera, jesus
Trossard
We desperately need to replace partey, jorghinio has done so well to fill in for partey not being there but I think rice offers us so much more in the 8 when he drives with the ball, I think we need someone in the 6 that breaks the lines like jorghinio but also has the physical side which partey gave us both when fit, also desperate for a proper number 9 that we can send balls into the box to when against a low block like osimen/vlahovic
Still the only channel I’ll watch the ads for 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
It's simple, Newcastle want Ramsdale and we want Isak. A deal can be done.
@@PaulClarke-dv5srbecause Ramsdale is better and their number 1 keeper is currently injured. They want Ramsdale, let's dona deal.
Priority for summer has to be a striker and centre mid. Could argue we need a better keeper too with Rayas save % being the worst in the league.
Don’t get your hopes up. The Villa game was a bigger game out of all. The missed opportunity was against Villa
Bernardo silva has a £50 mil release clause. That’s cover for Saka AND Odegard
We have those players, esr, reiss and Fabio are all mavericks, but since they are not Mikel’s favorite he doesn’t play them correctly
You want a ‘we don’t know what he’s gonna do’ type player?
We had one in Nicolas Pepe!
The only problem was- no one else knew what he was going to do either! 😂
And therein lies the problem- unpredictability is fine as long as it is (paradoxically) predictable (by your teammates)!
Don’t know why people speak about Isak - Newcastle would be insane to sell him even if they have FFP issues if they have to sell it will be abroad not to a direct Prem rival
MA requires everyone except GK to chase down the ball constantly. Eze and Isak won't do that.
Hey Charles,
Regarding lineup tomorrow I would like to see the back four we saw at Bayern, Rice, Havertz, Ødegaard, Jesus, Saka, and Trossard leading the line.
Shawn
We need players that are fit and quick like the william guy from biboal
I love ESR as do many Arsenal fans but he’s got to be sold aswell, should be able to get £30 - £35 million from him
Tomi,Zinc,Timber,Kiwor, Tierney,Taveres 6 leftbacks!
The only Arsenal player that does not have a backup is Martin Odegaard
Cole Parmer for me would be top signing, can’t see Chelsea selling mind.
Haaland would also be a top signing, and just as likely.
@@PaulClarke-dv5sr Not anymore
If the players are running on fumes it's a good thing that we were defeated in the League Cup and FA Cup so early then and didn't have a decent run in it like other big clubs.
Slap 100-120m down and I'm sure you can get Isak. Money talks. He's scored 17 league goals in 24 matches and he is only 24. Need to get this one done.
Tross to sub on and make it 2 NiL.. final.

Also, we don't have a legitimate scoring threat in the middle, so the opposition can focus on the wings.
We have to let jesus, eddy emile zinny, nelson elneny, cedric and partey at the right price if not keep partey.
Greetings Charles Arteta is a good manager but a bit pragmatic with his philosophy that he's not willing to gamble to win it all
So much talk about targets then taking forever to land them can be pretty tiresome. They should do what man city did with Haaland, land their target before the summer arrives and then let it be used to motivate bigger names to join.
