A new Deadlock podcast every Friday is like that weekly end of the week meet up with the boys. You know you're gonna laugh and you know you're going to have a good time
Rikishi's reasoning doesn't really make sense when you remember that The Rock won his first world title and allied with the McMahons A WHOLE YEAR before Stone Cold was hit with a car
Apparently the big reason DDP got treated like shit was that when he first arrived he gave Vince a big hug and started immediately talking about potentially setting up a feud with the Rock, People's Champ vs People's Champ, and that immediately soured Vince on him. The feud with Taker was meant to straighten him out but it exacerbated issues because DDP likes to set up his matches and so when he started planning spots and telling Taker what to do Taker also got pissed at him and it basically just doomed him. So I don't know if arriving earlier would have totally helped matters, but I assume being tangled up with the nobodies that WWE did bring in to represent WCW just sealed the deal on top of everything else.
Vince shat on everything that wasn't originally WWF and Taker really doesn't seem to like being told what to do or respect guys from other promotions. DDP got absolutely robbed of opportunities because of shitty politics
@@DareMurdok Foley and Austin loved DDP (and Triple H had done DDP a favor by not using a cutter as a finish), so if DDP had gotten to come in during the fall of 1999 or 2000, he probably would have had a better shot given there would have been active stars to vouch for him (and volunteer to work with him) that knew what he could do and could have eased tensions. By the time DDP came in, Triple H was injured, Austin was the top heel (and not in a position to work with DDP given he had to be a heel) and Foley had left the company.
based on time or age maybe but the humour isn't. they've said some actual objectionable things on OSW that weren't even jokes, so maybe it's like South Park or Family Guy
The Linda and Tazz Thug Superstars bit is one of the most underrated DEADLOCK bits they've ever done, how has nobody made a highlight or a sync video of it?
Had an epically bad day today, came home and put on some Deadlock and now I'm laughing my ass off at Linder Ellerbee shoving Mick Foley into the lava washing machine... thanks boys!
So the comedian Patrice O'Neal actually wrote for WWE for a very brief period around this time. He tells a story of being on the plane with Vince and some talent. Evidently Tiger Ali Singh had a family that found the gimmick highly, highly offensive and Patrice heard Tiger literally pleading with Vince to not have to do the Character for like 10 minutes. "Pleeeeeeasssseeee, my family asks you not to make fun of the turbin, pllllleeeeaaaaasssseee"!!! Finally Vince gets tired of it and he just shouts at Tiger "SHUT UP!!! You are wearing the God-damned Turbin!!! You and D-Lo Brown are wearing the Goddamn turbin"!!!
The reality is people only remember this feud because the Rock destroyed Rikishi on the mic. Thats literally it. Thats why people don't remember the actual segment or whats happening around it. A recent example is the Samoa Joe-Jeff Hardy feud. People only remember Joe destroying Jeff on the mic. People don't remember anything else about that feud.
Well guess the boys won't like to hear that I use all their videos for background noise. Usually takes me 4 or 5 times with it going before I have actually heard the full episode.
Crazy but this angle actually would've made sense if it was Shawn. Even if Shawn wasn't "healthy" to wrestle, he could've gotten a heavy and elevated then to the main event. Maybe Test with Shawn talking for him.
Doesn't matter what timeline you accept as canon. The only consistent thing when it comes to Raven is him looking Office-style into a camera, referring to Kanyon, and saying "Psh...what a mark."
What really is so disappointing about this Rikishi promo is that his career would literally be made if this was a good promo. It would have been easy money to have Rikishi play a role in Wrestlemania 40 and the Bloodline. But instead, they have to act like this never existed because it sucked.
I’ve been playing 2k24 career mode and I made a guy and put a dpw logo on his neck like the Cody tattoo and probably like Cody I bet the dark horse regrets getting that tattoo
It's fir the best WWE didn't mention this whole Rikishi running over Stone Cold thing considering it would feel weird for it to say Rikishi Father of a at the time babyface tag team was a gentle and dancing big man who entertained people during the Attitude Era oh and once he tried to end a guy's carrer by running him over with a car. Fir how weird it is I honestly love how each time there's some sort of WWE carr attack Rikishi as soon as possible says I have nothing to do with this and have 0 parts to play in it
watching the promo it made sense what rikishi said in that promo , about racism just white boys winning the title other never win it before , but it was strange making rikishi the guy would have been bigger if it was triple h or something
Ive heard these guys say the strangest opinions ever; from saying Lord of Darkness and Ruthless aggression Undertaker was lame, The Game is Hunters worst theme, modern WWE is boring, and now X-Pacs Uncle Cracker theme was good. Oh boy

I met Rikishi at a Knokx Pro Wrestling show and as I shook his hand I said, “Why did you REALLY run over Stone Cold?!”
He said “CAUSE I FELT LIKE IT!”
Bet you were a virgin then and still a virgin now
Deadlock is the Family Guy to OSW’s Simpsons. Both shows are amazing cheers lads.
based on time or age maybe but the humour isn't. they've said some actual objectionable things on OSW that weren't even jokes, so maybe it's like South Park or Family Guy
Yeah in hindsight maybe the fat guy who funky dances and signature move is wiping his ass in your face wasnt the next main event heel
Yeah, making him an attempted murderer is...a decision.
@@JackgarPrimeThe other end of this spectrum is Heidenreich
I mean this is kindve The Rock's gimmick if you only listened to his promos and didnt see him wrestle.
shouldve made him the next top babyface instead that wouldve put butts in faces
