I'm definitely a fan of gus's. Not even because of his playing skills, but because out of all his lessons and instructional videos I've watched, he just seems like a laid back humble guy.
Gus is so relaxed when he's shredding.

Well finally we get to see Gus doing his thing in a more personal way.. For those haters out there that call him just a shredder...He's a little more than that, ..His technical prowess, flawless technique and speed is amazing and commands respect !

i've never really gotten why gus g is such a big deal but this video along with a couple others i've seen of him are just insane... it's not even the fact that he really is that good i get that but its like he's not even trying, like he's not forcing anything its just so clean. nuts.

I love and have always loved Gus's humility. He's an amazing guitarist groundbreaking even, but he's cool about it and that's why i look up to him so much. He really loves what he does and it shows
Gus is an amazing guy, I met him after the first date in the Uk tour. He could not have been nicer. Huge tour manager was telling him to talk to us after he'd been cleaned up but he ignored him and came over to chat an took a picture and signed the few against many cd I had. He really is an inspiration.
My gramps name was Gus - Good to see a badass guitar player like Gus G representing the name so well!
This is probably one of my favorite Chappers videos. Two musicians who I respect and am inspired by, hanging out and discussing what they love to do. This rocks.

Anyone else notice how, at 2:22, when Rob and Gus are playing, Gus is just sitting back relaxed and almost nonchalantly shredding his guitar, and then Rob's moving, head-banging a bit, really enjoying himself and matching Gus note-for-note? I don't know which guy I'd rather be like...
I changed over to BlackStar a few months ago and haven't looked back. They are amazing amps. Great vid Chappers.
Gus is definitely heading in the right direction. I tell you one thing, if I could play as quarter as well as Gus I'd be on the road earning a living. The guy is phenomenal.

Gus is such a down to earth guy, and I'm always amazed by how clean his fast licks sound. Not too much pick noise, you can hear every single note perfectly. I'm not really a fan of Blackstar amps, though, I think they sound too compressed on high gain tones.
I can't stop watching how he shreds with no expression in is face… like "oh, this is so fucking easy…" and he actually make the shred looks easy…

All EQ controls on 10! I like to start with them all on 10 and then cut the treble down to about half or less. Sometimes I start with just the bass at 10 and the mid and treble at 0, find the right volume for the fattest bass tone and then add the mids in till it grinds then throw a bit of treble on top for some sizzle.
Suddenly I'm a Gus G fan, if only because he seems like a cool guy.
A year ago I bought a used Blackstar Blackfire Gus G. Pedal then took it out of the box and played it for a couple days. Put it back in the box and just reopened the box today. The factory rubberized finish is all tacky. Like fly paper. It is so severe it leaves deep finger prints in the rubberized finish really deep if you even barely touch it! A quick google search shows other people are having this problem! Love the sound and tone but I am going to have to sell it!

Gus is incredible....that random blue solo at 13:20 - 14:30 was very unique...
If you pay attention to this whole video, the only time Gus shows any emotion while he is playing is when he's ripping the blues. That says a lot for blues music.

I just meant that every time i watch Chappers, he seems to love playing guitar. He always seems to enjoy playing. I am by no means trying to insult Gus, he's a phenomenal guitar player, and I like the new Ozzy songs I've heard. What I meant is I really respect Rob for his passion in playing, teaching, and learning. Maybe i just don't know enough about Gus to make judgements. Maybe it's because he's from greece and english is his second language.

Just his vibrato techniques shows he has "Feel." I literally know nothing about this Gus G fellow, but he's very talented as far as guitar goes.

The amp sounds amazing, but unless somebody hires me to play stadiums soon, I can't see the need for 200 watts. If I tried to turn that up in my house, the ceiling would fall and the police would come and take my guitar gear, which would make me sad :(.
The main reason of the output power, is because that amp uses a quartet of KT88, which actually requires a shitload of power. I've seen 100w and 120w amps running two KT88s and one 12AX7 in the power section so they can fit that power range (100-120w). Anyway, I've heard a Bogner Twin Jet (running at 150w) and a Plexi clone with KT88 (running at 200w), and man, they just blew me away. Powerful, thick and articulated sound.
Like I said, it sounds incredible, but there's no way I could turn it up enough to get the sound of it I'd want. I'd have to build a special sound-proofed room in my house.
Chord TheSeeker Agree. Go for a Carvin V3. You can run it at 25, 50 and 100w.
What about the black fire 40 watt combo tube amp? How's that sound?
I used to think that, so stuck to 15 watt amps. Even they were too loud to play in my apartment. However, after watching videos by a youtube player called matt robinson, I bought a 100watt Blackstar head. I play it at low volume in my house, and it's amazing. Way better than my axe fx and kemper. I can't wait to plug in when I come home from work.
