Jim, something I found works for me.. whether it’s a normal day or the shittiest day where everything is going wrong.. I remind myself that I am living a better life than most. Because I am one of the few who make America move. I don’t have a boss looking over my shoulder, I am not stuck 40 hours in an office or cubicle, I have the freedom to take my break and meal time whenever I choose, I’m not required to wear a suit and tie, stay clean shaven, or cover up tattoos, I get the privilege of seeing my Country and be in a different location daily / weekly, I make a difference whether it’s acknowledged or not to my fellow citizens, and I’m getting paid to shift gears, listen to the sound of a diesel engine / Jake Brakes, talk to others on a CB radio using CB lingo, smell fuel, roll coal, and in the morning I don’t have to make my bed unless I want to! There’s no “perfect” job. We all have to work to live. As a trucker, I don’t work because I live a lifestyle. Might sound silly, but if you take a break, breathe, and remind yourself of the great things that trucking offers you will feel better. Many people forget to Breathe. Doing breathing exercises is very important to our health and giving ourselves a pep talk can reverse the negativity that a dispatcher, four wheeler, whoever / whatever pisses us off. It worked for my uncle (lifelong trucker) and myself. Try it and I honestly hope it works for you too. Keep the rubber side down and stay safe driver!
I understand your pain… these companies should be forced to pay us better and required to have us home at least every 10 days. I’ve been out here 28 years… trucking used to be fun… now we are losing our freedom, big brother watching ever move we make.
Longest I’ve stayed out was 2 months and by time I went home everything was annoying the shippers annoy you other drivers doing stupid stuff annoy you it’s nuts
Jim you should really focus on yourself. Your TH-cam channel really is great. Branch out and make all sorts of videos you like. You would do amazing telling stories like when you made the video over your trucking history.
@ the company I’m with now does entertainment touring so we have to stay out for the length of the tour, but only doing about 1000 miles a week and being paid salary helps, I think I do more sitting than driving, but at least I’m sitting in interesting places lol.
😂😂😂it’s ok man the nomad life in a tracker is unlike any other for your mind is your biggest battle in life and locked down in a semi yupp in order to win first you pray and you master the thought process 😊you can be content when in what I call all hell comes forth😂it’s a tuffing up thing bro as communications with people the first few words deturmans your out come so learn to master it and the shall be connected for senses to overcome 😊
Vic dropped in with a Like and a quip he just came up with: A bear never works a day in its life and still takes off all winter.
What helps me is doing ALL night time driving when most idiots are home off the roads.. very Therapeutic

Good thinking.
Same here we all need to go home 🏡 and reset 🎉
I know exactly how you feel. Then you go home, and things are weird at home, so you go back to work. It's a strange life.
It sure is.
Trucking is life changing one way or another that’s for sure
I wish you the best Jim
Thanks. I went home. I feel better now.
Hey Brother, get home and get a good reset. The meltdown happens to us all, it's a real thing.
I went home. I’m good now lol
There should be more of a work life balance in over the road trucking.

I only stayed out 5 months last year because i had to. Now with no fleet and a title in the mail, those days are over
Good. Cuz it sucks.
But it’s ok, because safety appreciates all you do

I have to try to remember the stories. Lol
When I was with prime I would do 6-8 weeks out, then at least 10 days off. After 8 weeks I hated the world, and was just done with everybody lol.
That’s how it is!
