@@jimc8802You been working for many years, y’all have a good relationship. You don’t take that much time off…so he knows you’re not bsing about the funeral. Why in the world would you think he’s lying??
Oh Jim I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. Take the time you need-and do your best to be there for your wife. My Father in Law died back in Oct 2014-and my wife still struggles some days. I would say I can’t believe Prime pulled that 💩-but I absolutely can believe it.
Condolences to you and your father in law's family. I decided th dh home when my dad passed. Unfortunately, that is usually the only way to guarantee that you make it there on time. Good to see you, its been a while. Take care of yourself and your family.
I’m sorry for your loss brother and it’s crazy to see how the direction the company is going. During Covid when I told my dispatcher that my grandma had cancer and she had surgery which resulted in the cancer spreading more aggressive my dispatcher legit made me run local per my request where I was able to visit and care for my grandma and be there for her until her last day. I’m sorry your experience was so negative and I send prayers your way.
I’m sorry for your loss. You have every right to be angry at the lack of empathy and compassion from those employees of Prime. There is no excuse for lacking humanity and emotional intelligence.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I've lost both my parents to cancer so I know how hard it can be. I hope you were able to do what you needed to do in the time you needed to do it in. I get told it's all they have for loads too so I just do them. As a new cdl holder, I don't want to risk it just yet.
I still haven’t gotten home. My dad passed while I was on TNT last November. I’m bitter and still heart broken. 4 days will not get me to Hawaii to grieve and say my goodbyes only to have to rush right back to work. I’m sorry for your loss. ❤
Sorry but I’d just drive home , without a load , you pay for the truck and fuel , you had a death in the family… what you doing Jim… seems like you’re a prisoner… to the warden
As retired combat military, sorry it is a part of life. Something I check when before I sign up. I get we can't check everything etc, but large companies don't care, it is how they got large. Revenue per mile is what most look for per truck. Anything outside of that legally they will make you or lose you. In my case funerals are for the living, live every day like it is your last (talk, hug, quit fighting, etc.). I missed many a family including parent while I was deployed. Out of 20 years I was home for 4 Christmas's, 1 of 4 births (at least I was there for conception, proven fact... lol), only a few Birthdays and anniversaries. BUT I retired at 37 and spend all day with grandbabies and wife now. Glass is half full to appreciate what you have and not what you don't. What would have happened decades ago when you got the notification weeks later? That was literally normal way of life. Family or friend passes out of town. Find out 2 weeks later. Send card (why they have them) and flowers.
You cant get me a load to get home after a death in the family come get your truck shows they dont care....wouldnt have said sorry i dont work for prime but if thats the way they treat their drivers im happy i dont work there
Happened to me in 2021 at prime they cared more about the load, took the truck and load home emptied my shit out and dropped the truck off at a terminal lmao
Sorry for your loss I know what it feels like to lose a family member on the road I couldn't make it to my grandpas funeral I was extremely fond of him when I was a child he was the best! however I did get to speak to him before he passed. Most of the time death isn't convenient, don't blame prime that they couldn't conveniently get you home when you needed to you should have told them I need to get home and you should have just started driving home regardless where you were in the country. Don't put your burden on some one else and then complain about it when it doesn't work out in your favor... I can guaranteed that if prime has a load the went to your house at that time you would have gotten it. I feel you were just being greedy and a little selfish.
Sorry for your loss Jim
Thanks
You are my favorite TH-cam trucker, brother. I am sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your family's loss. Youve been with Prime long enough to know you should have expected that. Prime doing Prime things.

Yes
How many stars and triggered events have you gotten on your new driver facing camera?
I don’t have one yet
Picture is extremely Dark. I was wondering what happened to you? 🎉
There wasn’t anything to see. It was just me talking
Bro, you gotta stop with that shit if it cost you that much and your company didn’t help you at all you need a new company

No better time to be selfish and greedy. Family emergency and a death. I should take priority and I would never apologize for it.
@@jimc8802 You aren't being selfish or greedy. You are right to feel the way you do.
