Emi is killing it!, MiMi is on fire (as usual!), Rina's bass thump is so low it makes waves on my speakers! And Harumo was SO good it's unbelievable. I beat musical school playing saxophone and it was top tier level.... i know the sax pro when i see one. Also i just love Japanese jazz scene, what a musical revival for all the world.

Mama Mia! I love all these women and I've never seen them play with that kind of intensity. All four playing like they had something to prove! Well, I'm a believer as I've been enjoying their videos for years. Not sure if they could ever top this one, it was just stellar.

That sax solo. Woah. Harumo is really up there. Many people don't bother to play actual lines and motifes and just show off their theoretical and technical skills. The best people combine all of those things. Harumo is the latter.

Damn, that was intense. Don't think I've ever seen Rina look so stressed out, but sharp playing all round. Great work, ladies.
I don't know about stressed out, but last week (in addition to hot weather) Rina had performances Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (with Friday rehearsals in between), all instrumental, all different sets and lineups, a lot of odd meters requiring concentration, and Sunday's TGJ being the only permanent lineup with familiar songs. Great playing in all three.
@@MikkoRinne I kinda think these musicians are hustling constantly and are happy to stay busy as possible. I have no idea of the pay structure for live performances. As soon as one develops any sort of name recognition, they seem to put a store in with videos here selling merch. Who could blame them?

TGJ has always been good, but I agree with some other commenters that they are getting even better. They sound much tighter as a unit, and with Harumo too. She’s one of their “5th Beatles” for sure.

Pretty stunning how a four member band can produce such as an impressive display of taste and talent. Tha band`s sound it`s getting a next level, rising the bar.. Cheers, take care girls.
