It felt like the red wedding in game of thrones but I spent two or three years with those characters and I cared about the characters here after an hour. They did an awesome job, I hope the rest of the story is as good
It’s more of a combat demo because you don’t really have access to much in the beginning. It’s more fair to judge once you have a good bit in your toolkit

Shiva probably immediately freezes those around her and Garuda shreds them in the winds. But honestly given Shiva's disposition her Dominant probably makes an effort to transform safely. Garuda is probably okay too. Can't wait to see Bahamut and Odin.
The voice acting in this is crazy in the last bit with Clive. Like fuck he killed it. And the story I wasn’t expecting the ending there like wtf. Honestly never played any of the games but this actually has me intrigued to start.
Honestly, as someone that has played almost all of them(and i mean ALL), this game seems like the perfect jump off point for the new generation. It seems to be completely uninterested and unlinked to anything and everything that came before it except for abstract story and visual elements. You need precisely zero knowledge of Final Fantasy to enjoy this game fully, if you think this is even remotely your cup of tea.
CBU3 has been using actual stage and screen actors for voice work for FFXIV since Heavensward, continuing the philosophy of the FFXII dev team as regards dubbing, and it REALLY fucking shows. The difference in quality in the VA work is stark, especially when you compare it to things like FF7 Remake and KH which are both perfectly serviceable dubs but just don't have the level of quality

It's a huge throwback to the pre-FFVII era (well, and FFIX), in fact, in quite a lot of ways. It is more mature, more graphic, more raw, certainly, but the overall influences are very clearly there. I would agree that it's probably a great one to start the series on though. But that goes for many games of the series.
Final Fantasy is like Gundam these days--a storied franchise, but each entry is basically its own standalone entry that needs next to no knowledge about other ones, besides some universal commonalities, such as what a chocobo is (those fluffy bipedal birds), or the small victory jingle. FFXVI is its own standalone story.

It has a whole 15 minutes of gameplay and interesting Mechanics. Insane graphics if u have a an extra 4090 and only a billion Gigabytes. All for a small price of $60-$100

Which is funny because that's the crux of Kratos' backstory. You just never see it. And it's different after you get to know the character too and... they're also just a child.
This demo made my jaw hit the floor. The mix of cinematic scenes, absolutely phenomenal music, and great gameplay, on top of being incredible to look at, AND a more mature story, makes me seriously consider getting a ps5, even though I know it’s limited exclusive, that’s how much it impressed me. 11/10 demo
There has been no word on it being a limited-time exclusive as of right now, maybe a PC release eventually but FF7 Remake for example still isn't out on Xbox Who knows how long the exclusivity will remain a thing

I agree....what a beautiful team, I was never into final fantasy, but my friend told me to play the demo then I bought the game and now it's my goty. I also installed ff15 from PS+ too.

Hope that means that the framedrops wont be a problem in the full game and that they achieve stable 60 fps in the full game, i was pretty underwhealmed by the performance in the demo :/
@@yuugur666 Seems to be an issue for some. In the final Eikon fight right before rebirth, there is VERY noticeable frame drops for me only during one 5 second portion during Graphics mode. Other than that, no bad drops noticed. Hopefully the newer versions fix that, and I am sure they do. Another fun note is that the game prioritizes combat, meaning during combat the frames SHOULD BE always 60fps in Fidelity mode, which does seem to be the case.

The writing is also excellent. Never expected to care so much about Joshua, Elwin and Clive's instructor. Had a tear in my eye when shit was going down.
I expected Clive to be soft spoken and boring the entire game because of how he's acted before that scene. But WOW man! When he is sad, or worried, it's like a whole different ball game. I love it.
Yeah this is the best demo I’ve seen and played in years. Games gonna be phenomenal. I was so surprised when the second mode with even more story unlocked.
I absolutely love how dark and brutal it is. When the king got killed I was shocked how quick it was. And when the phoenix got got it was just as surprising and I hope they keep him dead, it’ll be so interesting seeing how the world reacts to all this
Facts. Don't know if I'm just slow and everyone else caught on but I could not believe it when his wife walks out at the end. I hated her the first time you meet her but damn I didn't expect her to do that
I always see lists of people's favorite songs and I am not really a fan most of the time. I did play a lot of FF14 and enjoyed a lot of the music for that one. I was a bit nervous for 16 but the demo has shown that he stayed true to the settings of the game and enjoyed what I have heard so far.
The fact the that this demo and the eikonic challenge is better than some game that were released this year really says something, and seeing charlie genuinely hyped for something, genuinely enjoying something is amazing
I have never played a Final Fantasy game before. Thanks to Demo, I tried FF16. Right from the start, I got hooked to this game. I have finished it twice and got the Platinum trophy. For me, I absolutely loved the story, characters, cut scenes, dialogues, voice overs, combat and music.

I usually dip from the stream once the games start, but this had me genuinely hooked last night and I stuck around for the entire thing, even turning away from the game I was playing because I was so enthralled. I'm really looking forward to seeing the full game when it comes out
Great part about this demo is that your progression carries over into the full game when it releases. It states that on a little tool tip type page when booting up the demo. Pretty neat.
This demo had more content than any other demo I've played. It was almost 3 hours with the additional Eikon Challenge included. Loved every part of it and can't wait to get the full game. I expect to see this on the Moist Meter once you play through it Charlie!
It's just beyond my mind how such masterpieces are being created. I had the same feeling when I played Elden Ring. Doing some (amateur) animations and 3D stuff myself I just know how much work it takes. And to deliver on this pace at this level.. My god. God bless that there are still meaningful studios out there, showing what gaming is ment to be. Pure art.
I went into the demo because I wasn't sold as well. I literally wasn't expecting much and by the end of the demo I was ready to go buy the game. Perfect demo, hopefully perfect game.
Some of my fondest memories are when I was around 9 yrs old playing FF10, these games hold a special place in my heart and I’ll definitely be purchasing a PlayStation 5 and FF16, looks breathtaking. I’ve never been one to get too into the storyline with games but the emotional intensity within FF games are really something else..
I don’t know if Charlie checked the Active Time Lore entry for Joshua, but I just think it’s funny that Charlie said “just eat your carrots and you’ll be big and strong” because Joshua’s lore entry specifically states that he doesn’t like carrots lol.
Active Time Lore is such a game changer. Unlike regular datalogs/journals where it frontloads you witj so much information, the ATL only gives you enough at any given moment and it auto updates based on whats happening. Jill mentioned Metia and I immediately pressed that ATL just to know wtf is Metia lol

It was actually unreal. The combat is such a massive step up from XV. The only way it could've been better is to have a 30 minute intro where you do nothing but push a car. Edit- Bro what the hell is with the bots on this channel? Probably the worst I have ever seen.
@@josua3 no one does really. Each FF story is self contained. No need to play any others. If you found yourself lost at all in the demo then use the "Active Time Lore" mechanic to learn about people/places/things going on around you. That said, the demo while fucking awesome is the actual prolauge of the game, there is not a lot to not really understand. Its a grand fantasy story, with a lot of characters, plalace intrigue, romance, double-crossing, ya know standard fantasy stuff. Play it again (hell i've playtd it 3 times) and just listen/watch what is happening. As i said, its all fairly standard (though super well done) fantasy stuff.
I never played any of the FF games until 14 and I’ve been slowly falling in love with the other games so I’m really excited to jump on this hype train lmao

You really should play ff games cause they always have great story. Even ff 15 with all it's problems has some of the best friendships I've seen and prompto's story is amazing.
None of my daughters are into Final Fantasy... But they watched me play the entire demo, then my oldest actually preordered the game for me to play on release... They are as hyped as I am...

Something can be perfectly generic and still slap because it's executed nicely. Not that I think this is the best game ever, but if you kept up with all the recent game premieres from all the summer game fest, Xbox live, PlayStation live and whatever else there was, you will definitely agree that this game is among the most promising looking
The best part about the music is its composed by Soken and he's already shown what kind of music he can dish out in FFXIV, excited to see what he'll bring to XVI!
About the whole basic controls thing on a complicated game, when i got my ps5 my dad wanted to play it so i tried giving him something like astro but he insisted on God of War Ragnarok. Unsurprisingly he had no idea how the combat or camera worked. He was happy to see Christopher Judge though because hes a fan of stargate
I’ve been hearing nothing but incredible things about this demo! I’m honestly happy a lot of games are releasing demos more and more now. Street fighter 6, lies of P so far have had some demos you can replay at anytime even monster hunter rise has some. Just cool in my opinion. Back then we would have demos all the time :,(

I would suggest 10 as the best entry point overall but if you are looking for action combat theres essentially FF15 as the closest then FF7R, FF7 Crisis Core and FF13 Lighting Returns however: Ff7Remake is.. lets say a lore video on FF7 OG helps FF7 Crisis Core is a prequel to FF7 FF13 LR is the last game on the 13 triology. So for action yeah 15 is the closest

On top of that, they also had platinum games and kingdom hearts combat devs help with the combat too. Some real heavy hitters banded together to create an insane combat system with crazy depth
This demo is 1 year old aswell, and the actual game went gold a month ago. This game is gonna be polished! Edit: The demo build is 1 year old on ver 1.01. The latest State of Play version is 1.03.
The funny things is the non-stop story and action isn’t just a feature of the demo. I’m over halfway through the game and it’s been non stop action to awesome cutscene to set piece fight and repeat. It’s nuts. Never played a game quite like this.
What a way to start. My first was XV, which I do love, but it has a lot of flaws very obvious early on. My favorite is 7 (I'm basic), then 15, then 9, then 8, and probably 12 after that. This one seems it'll probably rise to take that number one spot from 7.

It's SOOOO good man I can't believe how good of a demo it is. If the whole game is like this we're in for a damn treat, my only slight issue might be some of the framerate issues but it's only in a few areas
this is also an older build of the game (demo is 1.01 vs the latest showcase ver which is 1.03) and the framerate is a lot better in the more recent builds they've shown

You have charge attacks for both melee and magic, and the lunge and slam down (both with optional times burst finishers) and the magic burst combo that has pretty tight timing. The problem is, because it's the beginning of the game, if you DO button mash, you can still win. I'm hopeful the difficulty will pick up and encourage using all of your tools more.
@@silvermunkee The less you vary your attacks and combos, the less XP you'll get. When you do combos with more tools; you're granted more XP. The game entices people to get good to get stronger quicker.
they assembled the avengers at Square Enix to make this game, quite literally the best at every aspect of a video game got hired and put on this project.

Soken (the composer of both XIV and XVI) is considered the successor of Uematsu, which also loves his work. And Yoko Taro is a big friend of Yoshi-P (they even collaborated on FFXIV) Even Platinum helped out with the development, it's a pretty crazy ensemble Funny story, Sakaguchi loves FFXIV so much that he created his own "brand" of in-game clothing and called it "SakaGUCCI"

The writing is also excellent. Never expected to care so much about Joshua, Elwin and Clive's instructor. Had a tear in my eye when shit was going down.
I expected Clive to be soft spoken and boring the entire game because of how he's acted before that scene. But WOW man! When he is sad, or worried, it's like a whole different ball game. I love it.

Yeah this is the best demo I’ve seen and played in years. Games gonna be phenomenal. I was so surprised when the second mode with even more story unlocked.
The final fight in the second part of the demo kicked my ass ngl. I got very overwhelmed by how fast they were.
I absolutely love how dark and brutal it is. When the king got killed I was shocked how quick it was. And when the phoenix got got it was just as surprising and I hope they keep him dead, it’ll be so interesting seeing how the world reacts to all this

I always see lists of people's favorite songs and I am not really a fan most of the time. I did play a lot of FF14 and enjoyed a lot of the music for that one. I was a bit nervous for 16 but the demo has shown that he stayed true to the settings of the game and enjoyed what I have heard so far.

I have never played a Final Fantasy game before. Thanks to Demo, I tried FF16. Right from the start, I got hooked to this game. I have finished it twice and got the Platinum trophy. For me, I absolutely loved the story, characters, cut scenes, dialogues, voice overs, combat and music.

Great part about this demo is that your progression carries over into the full game when it releases. It states that on a little tool tip type page when booting up the demo. Pretty neat.
This demo had more content than any other demo I've played. It was almost 3 hours with the additional Eikon Challenge included. Loved every part of it and can't wait to get the full game. I expect to see this on the Moist Meter once you play through it Charlie!
Demo was also very good and fun to play. This is how you promote a game. Let people have a great experence with a semi-lenghty demo.
It's just beyond my mind how such masterpieces are being created. I had the same feeling when I played Elden Ring. Doing some (amateur) animations and 3D stuff myself I just know how much work it takes. And to deliver on this pace at this level.. My god. I was not entirely sold on the game, but after I completed the demo I immediately preordered the full game. I’m so ready.
I went into the demo because I wasn't sold as well. I literally wasn't expecting much and by the end of the demo I was ready to go buy the game. Perfect demo, hopefully perfect game.
Some of my fondest memories are when I was around 9 yrs old playing FF10, these games hold a special place in my heart and I’ll definitely be purchasing a PlayStation 5 and FF16, looks breathtaking. I’ve never been one to get too into the storyline with games but the emotional intensity within FF games are really something else..
I don’t know if Charlie checked the Active Time Lore entry for Joshua, but I just think it’s funny that Charlie said “just eat your carrots and you’ll be big and strong” because Joshua’s lore entry specifically states that he doesn’t like carrots lol.
Active Time Lore is such a game changer. Unlike regular datalogs/journals where it frontloads you witj so much information, the ATL only gives you enough at any given moment and it auto updates based on whats happening.

@@josua3 no one does really. Each FF story is self contained. No need to play any others. If you found yourself lost at all in the demo then use the "Active Time Lore" mechanic to learn about people/places/things going on around you.
That said, the demo while fucking awesome is the actual prolauge of the game, there is not a lot to not really understand. Its a grand fantasy story, with a lot of characters, plalace intrigue, romance, double-crossing, ya know standard fantasy stuff.
Play it again (hell i've playtd it 3 times) and just listen/watch what is happening. As i said, its all fairly standard (though super well done) fantasy stuff.

About the whole basic controls thing on a complicated game, when i got my ps5 my dad wanted to play it so i tried giving him something like astro but he insisted on God of War Ragnarok. Unsurprisingly he had no idea how the combat or camera worked. He was happy to see Christopher Judge though because hes a fan of stargate

On top of that, they also had platinum games and kingdom hearts combat devs help with the combat too. Some real heavy hitters banded together to create an insane combat system with crazy depth

the active time lore was an amazing touch.
The funny things is the non-stop story and action isn’t just a feature of the demo. I’m over halfway through the game and it’s been non stop action to awesome cutscene to set piece fight and repeat. It’s nuts. Never played a game quite like this.

this is also an older build of the game (demo is 1.01 vs the latest showcase ver which is 1.03) and the framerate is a lot better in the more recent builds they've shown

You have charge attacks for both melee and magic, and the lunge and slam down (both with optional times burst finishers) and the magic burst combo that has pretty tight timing. The problem is, because it's the beginning of the game, if you DO button mash, you can still win. I'm hopeful the difficulty will pick up and encourage using all of your tools more.
@@silvermunkee The less you vary your attacks and combos, the less XP you'll get. When you do combos with more tools; you're granted more XP. The game entices people to get good to get stronger quicker.

Soken (the composer of both XIV and XVI) is considered the successor of Uematsu, which also loves his work. And Yoko Taro is a big friend of Yoshi-P (they even collaborated on FFXIV)
Even Platinum helped out with the development, it's a pretty crazy ensemble
