Worth it to visit, CATANIA Sicily
It’s beautiful with amazing food and people! The volcano in the background and the colors of the buildings from its ash deposit gives it a unique quality you don’t see anywhere else.

Looks beautiful, love the way you guys captured the city. Will be visiting early sept. We have four days between catania and Taormina. Do you recommend basing in Catania and doing maybe a day trip to Taormina (since Taormina is expensive and touristy) or it it worth to divide two days for each city?😢. Also what’s the B&B you guys stayed at in Taormina and catania?
Thank you so much for the kind words! We really liked staying in Taormina as there is a lot to experience, and you can do it with any budget. The drive from Catania is easy so technically you can make it there and back in one day if you have a car. It takes longer than you think to park and get to the city one you get there, and also you lose some time around midday as it gets too hot to do anything, plus the evening is also enjoyable there. For this reason, I would say stay there for one night if you can. I enclosed the names of the BnBs, if you find something on Via Etnea or close to Piazza Duomo in Catania, I would say stay there instead of the one we stayed in, although we really liked being 5 mins from the center in a quieter area and the host was amazing! If you are an American this place is not that great. The locals are not friendly at all. Food just wasn't that great. Maybe I went at wrong time. Good luck.
